Thank you to NetGalley and Andrew McMeel Publishing for allowing me to read this one early!
I really enjoyed this first volume of High-Class Homos! It is very fun, funny and lighthearted with also enough mystery to stay interesting! I’m obsessed with the whole cast of characters and am excited to continue with the story! It gives me similar vibes to Cursed Princess Club, which is high praise since that is one of my favorite series of all time.

Thanks to NetGalley & Andrews McMeel Publishing for the early copy in exchange for an honest review.
What a funny graphic novel! This will certainly be popular amongst Heartstopper and Belle of the Ball fans. Very snarky and strangely cozy. Also good for Cursed Princess Club fans as well.
The only thing that throws me off is how quickly the art style changes from page to page. I would like a liiiiiittle bit more consistency in style but other than that it's solid all around.

Initial Thoughts
I originally started reading this on Webtoons, and I loved it! I was super excited to see it coming to print. It is such a fun series. The art is great, and I especially love the color scheme. The coloring is bold, fun, and eye-catching. It matches the vibe of the story well, in my opinion.
Plot & World
This graphic novel series is set in a fantasy, fairytale type world; however, the characters speak/act in some ways that feel more modern. Most of the world-building in this volume centers around the castle/village around it; though it is not the primary focus of the book. The main plot centers around the main characters and their romantic entanglements (including a future lavender marriage) as well as friendships.
Characters & Romance
I love the characters. I think they are so fun! There is a certain exaggeration to their personalities that makes them feel quirky and is also reminiscent of some manga series I’ve read. The romances in this story are just getting started in volume 1. There is a MM romance storyline that is just getting its footing (in a “does he like me?” kind of way). The FF romance is a love triangle of sorts (I don’t want to spoil anything though!), and it’s exciting to see how it will pan out in future volumes.
Final Thoughts
I love this graphic novel series! If you’re looking for something more serious or romantic, this probably isn’t what you’re looking for… but if you want something fun and quirky that doesn’t take itself too seriously, I can’t recommend this series more. I’m looking forward to the next volumes!

4⭐️ Thank you NetGalley and Momozeri for this ARC of High-Class Homos Vol 1!!!
I absolutely forgot how much I loved this webcomic and I’m so so excited to see it finally getting published!!! Everything about this Comic makes me smile and so happy! The illustrations, colors used throughout the book, and the characters are just all so adorably cute! This graphic novel is something I wish I had growing up in middle and high school. Seeing how openly queerness is discussed among this small little group of friends and seeing how some of the characters (like Lucas, Marla, Percy, and Odette) even in such a short time figure out who they are and understand that throughout this first volume! To all my middle and high school teacher friends I would highly recommend reading this series and see if you can get if for your own classroom libraries!
It’s been so fun revisiting Sapphia and August and their friendship ☺️ I’m so so excited for High-Class Homos Vol 2!!!

The eye-catching book title drew me to this graphic novel, but I now realize it was too close to click bait. The premise was interesting: a gay Prince and a lesbian Princess plot to marry each other to keep their families from marrying them off to other people. That would give our two protagonist the freedom to pursue lovers they prefer without anyone knowing. Sneaky plot but a fun setup for the story, right?
Unfortunately, the story didn't fulfill its promise. First, the characters were flat. I wanted to love all of them but there was no depth here. I never felt a connection to Prince August or Princess Sapphia, and I felt the same disconnect with the various secondary characters/potential love interests. Second, scene transitions were difficult to follow, and the actual story wasn't pulling its weight. At times, I felt they story was trying too hard to be funny, relying on cliches to inject emotion into scenes. Honestly, I struggled to keep reading, which frustrated me because I really wanted to fall into the pages.
Although I didn't enjoy this as much as I'd hoped, it may appeal to others.

I'll say,the title certainly got my attention- followed by the gorgeous artwork on the cover.
The book is sweet, funny and definitely good read for pre-teens and teens questioning their feelings on relationships. Royals Sapphia and August both are gay, and come up with the perfect lavender marriage plan to protect themselves - dragging their friends into their circle, too. This book is full of messy feelings and relationships - just like real life.
the art in this book is lush and colorful and as beautiful as it is on the cover.
warning - the book leaves off on a cliffhanger. i for one will definitely be looking for the next book to see how this all turns out ( and what that mysterious witch's deal is)
thanks to Andrew McMeel Publishing and Netgalley for this arc to review

I loved this first volume. It's silly and cute with a little bit of drama. I enjoyed the illustrations and the story has me hooked. I'm looking forward to the next volume in the series.

Sapphia and August - the lesbian princess and gay prince of neighboring kingdoms - are best friends who know that they'll never be happy if they follow along with what their parents want for their futures, so they come up with a plan. August will court Sapphia so they can get married and put on the facade of being a real couple. This way their parents will be happy, and they can rule their kingdoms side by side while pursuing the people they're actually interested in in secret. As expected, hijinks ensues.
It's been a minute since I've read anything on webtoon, but this was one of the series that I was following back when I did, so I was so excited to see that it's getting the traditional publishing treatment! Sapphia and August are such fun characters to follow as they make their plans for the future together, but the supporting cast of characters are just as great. From Odette and Marla who work in the kitchen of August's castle to the object of August's affection Percival the himbo knight, there isn't an unlovable character in the bunch, and you'll care about their backstories and adventures just as much as those of the main couple. We also see a bit of another knight named Lucas and an unnamed witch who become bigger players later on in the series, and the little you see of them in this book will leave you wanting more.
High-Class Homos: Volume 1 collects the first 39 episodes of the popular webtoon of the same name along with character sketches, and alternate first meeting for Sapphia and August, and other illustrations from Momozerii. Full of humor, heart, and beautiful artwork, this graphic novel is perfect for those who are already fans of the webtoon as well as anyone who's interested in a little comedic fantasy.

3.5/5
I remember following this story before the new version was published on Webtoon. It was a cute, simple story you could read a chapter of and delight in the character's antics. Upon reading this, I can attest that this quality is still at the core of the story. It's also way too rare to see a disabled protagonist in a story this cutesy and that's just amazing to see that representation here.
The art is also amazing - with bringht bubbly colour and readable character designs. The volume also includes some bonus illustrations, old development sketches, and a short bonus comic based on the original ideas for the characters. At places my eARC had inconsistent quality in the rendering of panels (perhaps due the reformating from a webcomic to print), but it's probably going yo be fixed for the official release.
My only criticism is that while it's a really cute story, it feels a bit too simplistic and perhaps a bit too overpopulated with characters from the get-go. Not so much that it makes it a bad experience, but I don't know how invested I'd be, if I wasn't familiar with the story and characters already.

Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC. My opinions are my own.
TLDR: Fake dating, sneaking out, secretly gay, royalty, and lots of complicated emotions. What more could you want?
So fun! I love a comic, I love gays, and I love some bright and colorful art. This had all of that and hit the spot nicely.
While this volume doesn't go too deep into the planned relationships, and our suspected antagonist hasn't really taken the stage yet, this is a good setup. But that is how this first volume should be taken; a setup.
So far it is the perfect amount of silly, there is great representation here (when I saw that prosthetic leg I had stars in my eyes), and the relationships so far seem relatively healthy. If you looked at the cover, thought "oh this looks cute and fun", then I have great news. You get exactly what it says on the tin.
Giving this 4 stars so far. Looking forward to the rest of the volumes. Will be recommending to my fellow gays, and maybe some of my straights too.

High praise for the art but there is definitely a lot of information and a lot of things happening at once that just made it a bit muddled for me. The definite pros are the characters and the art.
I love all of the characters we were introduced to, especially Princess Saphia and Prince August. They are both beautiful characters and I really want to see more of their relationship with their love interests and how they develop with each other.
The art was gorgeous, bright, comic-y and colorful. I absolutely adored the small scenes and the little details, and it kept me engaged even in parts where the story started to feel a little heavy and bogged down. Which brings me to the cons.
It feels like there's a definite pacing issue. That might change as the series go on, considering this was the first volume, but it definitely felt like we were introduced to a lot of characters without really getting a chance to go through the story with them.
It was too much information too fast.
The "let's get married" plotline also feels more like an afterthought which, I wouldn't mind, if it wasn't considered such a big point of the story.

Having read the original few comics when Momozerii first posted them to Instagram, I have to say that I'm so, so happy to see it being published as a graphic novel years later. Reading it now was incredibly nostalgic, and the story is just as charming and funny as I remember. I absolutely intend to buy a copy as soon as it is released in November. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that some panels were not redrawn, which makes the art style feel inconsistent in some places.

it was such a delightful, charming read. It’s a webcomic-turned-manga that mixes humor, royalty, and romance in the best way, while also keeping the tone light and fun.
One of the biggest highlights for me was the art. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous, with expressive characters and vibrant panels that make every scene pop. It’s whimsical, colorful, and so easy to fall into. The picnic scene in particular stood out to me—it was sweet, tender, and captured the lighthearted tone of the story perfectly.
What I also loved was how the comic balances comedy with sincerity. There are plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, but underneath it all, it’s about being true to yourself, even in a world that doesn’t always make that easy. The relationships feel genuine, and the representation is refreshing.

thank you NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this arc! i read this on webtoon years ago, and i really love the new changes, and am so excited to see how the series pans out. this is perfect if you’re in the mood for a fun, silly and cute graphic novel!

Simple and cute, but that was about it? I read it, happily and easily, but I feel like there are a few things missing if that makes since? It's all just very fast paced, especially the romances, and the characters don't exactly have very deep personalities I don't think. I would still love to read volume two though! Thank you NetGalley for the arc.

This is so funny. I wanted to read the webtoon for a while now, so of course when I saw the arc here, I knew I HAD to read it. And thank God I did. Here we have a colorful and funny story with colorful and funny characters. I really liked the story, and I know people who would love it.
It's heartwarming and light. Perfect read if you need something to relax and have fun.

4.5
I had a lot of fun with this! I picked it up as a recommendation from a friend that had read parts of the Webtoon before and I'm glad I did. I've enjoyed the characters so far and I'm definitely intrigued by some of the side characters that we've gotten bits and pieces about so far. The reader is definitely told some extra information about these side characters so the ways that they will interact with our main characters are slightly easy to guess but its definitely something that I want to see how Momozerii brings it all together in the future.

I am happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this! It's for the girls, gays, and theys who love whimsy and bright colors. The concept of queer royals marrying each other as a cover for exploring their actual romantic desires in private isn't necessarily a new concept, but the characters themselves are super engaging and nuanced. I adored Percy and Odette, two characters coming to terms with their emerging feelings for their crushes with so much heart and humor. The art design is playful and the color palette is aesthetically pleasing. I did feel like this volume cut off rather abruptly, but I cannot wait for the next volume!

Wholesome, funny, and a pretty art style.
These are the first words that immediately popped into my brain after finishing volume one of this cute little story.
This is the perfect fast read for everyone who needs a little wholesome queer joy in their life. While dialogues sometimes lack nuance and the story is mostly focused on the main characters' relationships instead of shining some light at the goings-on in the kingdom, I enjoyed this read quite a lot and would definitely come back to see how Sapphia and August's story progresses. Especially because of all the newly introduced characters we don't get a lot of time with yet.
The layout is also pretty well done, which is sometimes a huge difficulty when adapting a Webtoon, and supports a fast reading flow.
So, if you are looking for a story to make you smile and spend a couple hours with, why not choose High-Class Homos?
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing me with this ARC in return for an honest review.

It was a quick and easy read !
The drawing style is really simple but fit perfectly with te cuter side of the story.
The storyline is not the best and honestly it wasn't necessarily engaging.
The characters were okay, not that interesting.
- Sapphia, our main character do not have a fully flesh out personality, she's as dull as possible. Her only personnalité trait is that she is a sheltered lesbian (?) she also got a prosthetic leg, which I thought was cute but we only see it at page 180 and I don't get it. I would have rather seen her talked a lot about her leg than her being gay. I don't know I tend not to like people that make their sexuality their personality.
- August, Sapphia's best friend is a cute gay guy that is in love with a clueless commander. He is less annoying than Sapphia cause him being gay is not is entire life. He is shown to be more reserved and serious than his friend and I did like that he got actual things to do.
As for the other characters they were fine, not a fan of Marla though she's giving me weird vibe but we'll see.
The two potential threat remind me of anime or cartoon I've watched before and I feel like I guess what will happened to them
