Wholesome, funny, and a pretty art style.
These are the first words that immediately popped into my brain after finishing volume one of this cute little story.
This is the perfect fast read for everyone who needs a little wholesome queer joy in their life. While dialogues sometimes lack nuance and the story is mostly focused on the main characters' relationships instead of shining some light at the goings-on in the kingdom, I enjoyed this read quite a lot and would definitely come back to see how Sapphia and August's story progresses. Especially because of all the newly introduced characters we don't get a lot of time with yet.
The layout is also pretty well done, which is sometimes a huge difficulty when adapting a Webtoon, and supports a fast reading flow.
So, if you are looking for a story to make you smile and spend a couple hours with, why not choose High-Class Homos?
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing me with this ARC in return for an honest review.

It was a quick and easy read !
The drawing style is really simple but fit perfectly with te cuter side of the story.
The storyline is not the best and honestly it wasn't necessarily engaging.
The characters were okay, not that interesting.
- Sapphia, our main character do not have a fully flesh out personality, she's as dull as possible. Her only personnalité trait is that she is a sheltered lesbian (?) she also got a prosthetic leg, which I thought was cute but we only see it at page 180 and I don't get it. I would have rather seen her talked a lot about her leg than her being gay. I don't know I tend not to like people that make their sexuality their personality.
- August, Sapphia's best friend is a cute gay guy that is in love with a clueless commander. He is less annoying than Sapphia cause him being gay is not is entire life. He is shown to be more reserved and serious than his friend and I did like that he got actual things to do.
As for the other characters they were fine, not a fan of Marla though she's giving me weird vibe but we'll see.
The two potential threat remind me of anime or cartoon I've watched before and I feel like I guess what will happened to them

I really enjoyed High-Class Homos, but I had already expected as much. It is exactly my type of graphic novel. It has a lovely cast of characters, with different personalities and quirks. Each character has their own reveals and backstory, something that definitely added to the whole vibe of the book. I liked that not everything is revealed in volume 1, which makes me very curious and excited for volume two!
There are multiple storylines going on, which is giving the needed variation in tone while you read. The main storyline is about Prince August, who is gay, and Princess Sapphia, who is a lesbian, and their plans to get into a lavender marriage. The other storylines flow nicely with the main one, making it a very easy read. The tone is light hearted, with more than enough humorous lines that made me laugh out loud.
Have I already said that I ship some characters like crazy? Omg, it had me giggling and kicking my feet for real. I can't wait to see which ships sail and which one don't!
The art style is absolutely adorable. At first, I wasn't so sure what to think about it, because it felt a little square-ish. But after the first couple of panels, I was completely used to the art style and discovered it fit the story quite well.
Definitely a five star read for me!

Oh I had so much fun reading this. The characters were charming and the illustrations were lovely, though the style or rendering was a bit inconsistent at times, in no way did this interfere in my experience reading this.
I'm looking forward to continuing with this story, and I will be recommending this book to my friends.

OMG I read this in one day and now I’m like hoping that there’s more to come because this was such a good start to a graphic novel series about political intrigue back in the day. The way customs were and being gay and how that happened back then it wouldn’t of worked out but the twist that they give on it And the way that they’re sneaky and their best friends, but the prince is gay. The princess is gay, but their best friends and they’re thinking of proposing a wedding. What a great start to a series and to call it high class homo that’s just perfection and the character art is amazing. The illustration in this novel is gorgeous. 100% will be reading all of them as they come out.

This was a fun read. I really liked all the characters, even though Sapphia could be a bit much at times. There isn't really a whole lot of plot outside of the romance (or romances) as of now. Mostly just a lot of people having crushes on one another and some "gay awakenings." We do get some setup for the party August needs to host and Sapphia's ex-best friend. So we'll see if even of those become major plot points or if they are just small conflicts.
This comic is also pretty goofy. I enjoyed the humor, but I would recommend reading a sample first to make sure it works for you.
I am a little confused about the audience for this comic. The story and characters makes me think it should skew younger, maybe middle grade or a young YA, but the characters could be quite crude at times. It wasn't super obscene or anything, just some swearing and innuendos. It was just a lot more than I was expecting.
I thought this comic was cute and I will likely be checking on the next volume whenever it comes out. I recommend it if you are looking for a cute, fun, and low-stakes read!

5/5
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for an arc. All opinions are my own.
This graphic novel is an absolute BANGER! It’s just so much fun. Notably, if you’re someone who is easily bothered by things that could be considered “cringe” this may not be for you, but luckily I have plenty of whimsy in my heart. Saph and August are living their best lavender marriage life and I love that for them <3

So funny! I remember reading the first couple of chapters on WEBTOON when it was first released, I’m so glad to revisit these characters 💛
This first book has so much potential! A lot of the plot lines are predictable but in a fun way - you’re having fun while you wait for certain things to happen.
There’s a lot more to these characters than this first volume shows and I can’t wait to read more. The sense of humor is great and the art style is adorable!

This is such a cute and beautifully illustrated tale of royalty, friendship, and staying true to yourself. High-Class Homos follows Princess Sapphia of Mytilene and Prince August of Phthia—two best friends who share more than just royal duties. They’re both completely, unapologetically gay, and both far more interested in charming castle staff than entertaining the idea of straight royal marriages. When Sapphia’s parents start pushing for her to wed, the pair come up with the perfect plan: a sham marriage to each other so they can keep living life on their own terms, while still pursuing the people they’re actually interested in.
What follows is a heartwarming and often hilarious journey of fake engagements, secret crushes, and plenty of castle hijinks. From Sapphia’s determined (and slightly chaotic) attempts to win over the maids to August’s quiet pining for a certain knight, every moment is full of charm. The art perfectly matches the tone—bright, expressive, and full of personality. This is a delightful read about friendship, love, and finding happiness in a way that works for you, no matter what anyone else expects.

I really loved this graphic novel! Funny, lighthearted, and had a super cozy kingdom setting with truly great art that fit the story’s vibe so well. I’m VERY interested in the next installment (because there has to be one) to see both romantic plot lines through. The pining and miscommunication lasts the entire book, so I really hope they actually get their stuff together in the next one! There was also an antagonist that was introduced at the end of the second to last chapter, so I’m excited for that to unfold. I also didn’t expect Marla to be as big of a character as she is, and I really want to know more about her story. Overall an enjoyable read, and I’m so excited to see what happens next!

A royal lavender marriage, or at least the beginnings of a plan for one between Princess Sapphia and Prince August. Plenty of moments to laugh at, as they both navigate trying to get a date with the person they like. I do have to wonder, though, how all the characters we meet seem to be LGBT+ and the kingdoms so intolerant. This was entertaining and I'd be happy to read more and find out if Sapphia and August continue their charade or eventually are able to marry those they truly love.

“He was the first person I met who was like me. The first to make me feel… normal.”
This book is a whirlwind of emotions—laughter, joy, and a subtle sting of sadness that lingers. I was utterly captivated, grinning at the witty banter and wholeheartedly invested in the romances, particularly Prince August, Percival, and Marla’s story. The art, with its vivid colors and expressive designs, is pure perfection for someone like me who geeks out over visuals. Sapphia’s love triangle, though? It hit a nerve—friendship drama like that is too much for my heart 😭.
An unforgettable read that demands your attention! 🥹💗✨”

I loved this story. The design and characters were so well done. I would read this every day! I enjoyed the art and the charcters were very relatable and cute.

This was such a cute graphic novel! I loved the illustrations and bright colours used. I’ve been wanting to find graphic novel series and this one did a good job at capturing my attention right from the start with the cover. Volume 1 did a great job setting up the different story lines and introducing us to the characters, I’m really looking forward to the next volume when it comes out!
Thank you so much Netgalley and publisher for the ARC

Because of the title, I was half-expecting this to have a Boyfriends-level cringiness to it. Luckily, I was wrong, and this is a very cute double-romance with a love triangle and loveable characters. The art is bright, and the dialogue is light and funny. I'll absolutely continue this light and fluffy romance.

When I first saw the cover, I assumed this would be an over-the-top, silly graphic novel, but I ended up really loving it. The characters are well-developed and incredibly lovable, each with their own backstory that gradually unfolds throughout the book. The art style is bright, bubbly and full of color, perfectly matching the lighthearted yet heartfelt tone. Overall, it is a fun, queer, fairytale-like story that I cannot wait to continue reading. I would recommend it to fans of whimsical fantasy, lighthearted queer romance and character-driven stories.

I had started reading this via Webtoons when I received this book as a ARC. The artwork is beautiful and the little bits of humor scattered throughout is great! I did find the characters a little confusing, mainly what knight was who. Could just be me though. The addition of one character though really made me excited for the series. Will keep reading with future releases!

Recommend-O-Meter: YES PLEASE (in rainbow font)
I have been a HUGE fan of the High-Class Homos Webtoon for a few years now. In fact, I’ve had this book’s Amazon page bookmarked since before it was officially announced to be in production, before it even got a cover. So you can imagine my excitement at being able to read an advanced copy.
This graphic novel is exactly what you’d imagine: hilarious, light-hearted, and absolutely, incredibly queer in the best way possible. Princess Sapphia is a rockstar of a girl, so bold and beautiful (and also disabled! Yay for representation!). Prince August, on the other hand, is much more steady under the weight of his responsibility. But despite their differences, these two are the best of friends, and their relationship is portrayed so sweetly. Of course, the surrounding cast of characters only bolsters the story. We meet knights and maids and even a mysterious witch, all of whom seeming to have their own rich backstories that we only get glimpses of.
In terms of plot, I’d say this particular volume is more surface-level in that it mainly just establishes the people and the setting, which makes sense. In any case, the bevy of foreshadowing only makes me crave the next volume all that more! As for the art, it can be a little inconsistent at times, but that’s par for the course in the early days of a serialized Webtoon. What’s important for me is that each figure is always clearly depicted and I’m able to tell who is speaking and what’s going on.
Overall, I can’t recommend this book enough! Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go ahead and purchase the pre-order that’s been sitting in my Amazon cart for months now.

Thank you Net Gallley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.
What a wonderful read!
This graphic novel is a lighthearted queer comedy. The introduction to the main cast is nicely done, everyone got a good amount of spotlight and interactions with each other. It's very cute and you're left cheering for the main characters.
However, this volume does a lot of set up that doesn't get much payoff unless you read the next volume. At the same time a lot of the events in the book happen so quickly that at times it's hard to follow. This is of course the side effect of the graphic novel coming from webtoon. This structure might not work for some, but personally I am looking forward to reading more about Sapphia and August!

This graphic novel was amazing and I need more🤣 The main characters are a gay prince and princess who are plotting to marry eachother publicly, in order to date who they really want privately. This was a heartwarming tale of friendship and queer love. Both of the mc’s had very different relationships, and I liked how they both had different personalities. Sappha (loved her name btw) was bold from the very beginning and I love her so much. This was a short, sweet and fluffy read.
Thank you NetGalley and Andrew McMeel publishing for the ARC.
