I love a funky fun little comic like I saw the title "high-class homos" and had to click immediately!! For a first volume, I think it does a good job establishing the characters, comedy, and overarching plot. I am curious to see what happens next so I may check out the webtoon page aswell. The art is a little inconsistent, but it didn't bother me that much.

High- class homos is supposed to be about a prince and a princess who are both homosexual, thus getting into a lavender marriage, at least in this volume that did not happen, its merely mentioned, this whole volume just introduces all of the characters and gives you glints of the drama to come.

The art is cute, but basic and so is the rest of the story, all the characters are plain, its full of cliches, and the only high class about this homos is the title, there is absolutely no evidence they are royals besides Sapphia being a spoiled playgirl and Im getting tired of this cliche.

Its low stakes, perfect for webtoon, to read something cozy and really cute to relax and chill before sleep.
As a "official" comic book, I have my doubts.

I received this arc in exchange for an honest review.

High-Class Homos, Vol. 1 by Momozerii.
Rating: ★★.5 (2,5/5)

What I liked:
One of the standout elements of this volume is the portrayal of platonic friendships between the protagonists, a gay man and a lesbian woman. I appreciated that the story didn’t fall into the “I can change them” trope, and their relationship stayed true to their individual identities. I also liked how fast-paced was the story, as it kept me engaged.

What didn’t work for me:
At least for me, the artwork felt inconsistent at times, even on the same page. It was jarring and made it harder to immerse myself in the story. On another note, while the pace was a plus in terms of momentum, it worked against the story when it tried to touch on more serious/social themes. These moments came off as rushed or superficial rather than meaningful (I'm talking about the discussion on status and how lucky the protagonist was compared to lower class people). Additionally, I felt the characters were a little underdeveloped and one-dimensional—I didn’t feel particularly connected to any of them.

Overall, I still think there's potential, so I'm curious to see how it develops in future volumes.

I love a royal lavender marriage! This graphic novel (I admit I read the original tapas version several years ago) with its revamped art is very adorable. I love the colors used, it makes it feel very pastel and cozy and like a lighter read because of that. The characters are distinctive in their personalities, and I feel like I have a pretty good sense of each one even though we already have a pretty wide cast. The pacing is a bit off at points for me which can make certain scenes either jarring or stilted, but as a whole I love the concept and find it very cheery and playful.

The art is so pretty but it’s written so badly, extremely cheesy and forcing diversity.. I equally dreaded each page but also looked forward to how it would progress somehow. It was also crude and vulgar, and totally unlike how any high class noble would behave.

Ahhhh! I love this graphic novel series. It’s absolutely amazing. I love how queer it is and also how sweet. August and Sapphia are best friends, like the most amazing found family one could ask for. Genuinely I adore them both so much! I want more of this series immediately! The art is so good. It’s just so queer and that’s beautiful. It’s also super funny and sweet! Check this out if you love a great story!

Thank you to the publisher for the review copy

What an absolute delight of a graphic novel. High Class Homos follows Princess Sapphia and Prince August as they hatch a wild plan- they will marry each other out of duty and keep pursuing their own romances. I absolutely loved the main characters and the crew of LGBTAIQ+ friends they surround themselves with. This Volume alludes to more mystery and suspense in the next installment. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series! 5 stars

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read High Class Homos Volume 1.

5/5 Stars

Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing and Netgalley for providing me with an arc.

I picked this one up hoping it would be a ridiculous cute read and that’s exactly what it was. It is unapologetically queer and follows a princess and a prince who are planning on getting married to keep up the facade of them being straight and let them lead their own love lives having relationships with maids and knights. It was very cute and I definitely want to read any future books in this series. I highly recommend this if you want to read a cute and very gay graphic novel.

This is such a fun and creative twits on the fake-marriage trope! It manages to have a good balance between conversations about classism, the struggle of living in specific boxes, the responsibility of the monarchy, etc; while also being such a cozy and fun read. The characters all have their little quirks and distinctive personalities, and you grow to love them really fast.

The plot is relatively simple, following the lives of a prince and a princess on their way to get married BUT MOSTLY their priority is that they both want to find a queer partner lol

The art style is so nice if you like that almost comic-book vibe, and I love how colorful it is. Likewise, getting some of the early sketches was such a nice touch! I think it really makes it worth it to buy the book even if you’re already read the comic on webtoon, especially if you’re a fan! Also that alternative universe was so funny, but I’m glad we got the August and Sophia that we know so well.

P.S: Sophia is my prettiest girl and I would go to war for her, thank you very much. Her fake leg is my favourite character! (and yeee disability representation!!)

Thank you to NetGalley for an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book. As always, all opinions are entirely my own!!

What a sweet first volume in this world!! Reading this was very nostalgic for me because I remember when these comics were first being created. I would wait weeks to see a couple of slides uploaded to Instagram, and it would always make my day. Seeing these characters now in a published book makes me so emotional. It was so funny; I haven't thought of this world in years, and yet managed to remember the full arcs of storylines that were started in this volume!!

An issue online comic creators have is translating their online media into book format. I can happily say this was not an issue in this volume!! The story flowed nicely, the pacing was great, and I thought all of the different character stories were juggled masterfully. This is a fairly big cast, but not once did I feel like we were forgetting about any of the people in our main group!!

The art style has always been a love of mine. I enjoy the colors used, the humor throughout the backdrops, and the disability rep!!

I highly recommend you all pick up this graphic novel on November 11th, 2025!!

I'm not usually a huge manga fan, but the premise of this book had me intrigued, and I am so glad I decided to give it a try. I really enjoyed the characters, each of them had their own personality and struggle. I loved the themes of finding your sexuality, especially the emphasis that it is ok to think you are one thing and then find out you aren't, and that doesn't make you any less valid. I also really liked how Princess Sapphia had a prosthetic leg, but it wasn't made out to be a huge deal. Instead, it was just another part of her and treated like every other character. Overall, I really enjoyed this and will definitely be reading the next volume!

This graphic novel, though the first in a series, is trying to do two different things at once that don't mix. On one hand, it's a cute and charming story of two royals are find a way to cheat the marriage system so they can take lovers that are their preference instead. It's fun to see the Princess fawning over the maids and so cute to see the prince and army commander reading together. The art style is bright and bubbly which also draws the eye in.

On the other, it also tries to remind the readers this is a kingdom, even if made up, and very serious and distinct class issues are brought up. While these would be great to explore in a queer love story about nobles falling in love with people considered lower than them, it just doesn't hit the mark here unfortunately. It seems forced.

I would still recommend this to teens are looking for something fun to read, but would also recommend other books to explore the topics just touched on in this volume.

I got this as an arc on Netgalley and it will come out in November. This was funny as heck. We queers will never beat those allegations of being absolutely hopelessly panicking sometimes and I love that for us.

I wasn't expecting this to be as engaging as this ended up being! Great characters, lovely colorful art, and a plot that sucked me in.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and the publisher for providing this eARC in exchange for an honest review!

The first time I came across this series I was 15, and instantly fell in love with it! Now 21, I was pleasantly surprised to see High Class Homos on Netgalley, so of course I had to read it to see if it held up over the years.

Just as funny and sweet as I remembered it to be, it was an absolute joy diving back into this story, the artstyle is lovely!

Please do yourself a favour and read it, you won't regret it!

First, I absolutely adored the illustration style, it suited the story perfectly! It gave me Sailor Moon vibes!
This hilarious, lighthearted and beautiful story of friendship, love, self discovery while also addressing discrimination and overcoming oppressive systems. There are some truly heartwarming moments between characters supporting their friends when struggling to understand themselves. I really look forward to reading the next one!

High-Class Homos had me at Sapphia's literal first panel being kicking down a door and yelling “This is bulls**t!” Princess Sapphia and Prince August are both gay and interested in a maid and a knight, and they decide to get married to each other to appease their parents.

This was simply a pleasant read. It includes an incredible cast of characters, beautiful artwork, and funny dialogue. The charm comes from the subtle details, such as creative ways to get rid of a surplus of radishes, innuendos, getting teacher-zoned, normalized inclusivity, and references to Sappho's history.

I just feel lighter after reading it, but I am intrigued to know what happens next.

Thank you to NetGalley, Momozerii, and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the advanced copy. This review is left voluntarily and honestly.
