Another fun book in this series! I love all the characters and the San Francisco setting. I didn’t find it as fun as book 1 and the mystery didn’t really intrigue me like the one from book 1 but overall it was a good book. The narrator did a great job at bringing the characters and story to life and I’m really hoping there will be a book 3.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an audio copy to listen to in exchange for an honest review.
Okay this was super fun! I enjoyed the first in this series and this did not disappoint. It was light hearted but still intriguing. I appreciate learning more about the characters from the previous book and how we are set up for another book. This series reminds me of the Finlay Donovan series - a great thing! The narrator was also really good - clear and expressive!

This is a perfect murder mystery set in San Francisco featuring Capri Sanzio, who runs her own tour guide company in the city. As she begins to dive back into investigative journalism, as well as podcasting and writing, she becomes entangled in a new case to solve.
I binged the first book - The Serial Killer Guide to San Francisco and this one in about 2 days on audio so I could get caught up with the story. I really love the San Francisco setting since I live in the area. Honestly, it is the number one reason I bought the first book and I am so glad that I did. I love the history intertwined throughout and how the author gives little facts about the SF Bay Area and some of the infamous crimes that have taken place. This kept me hooked from the beginning and I did not guess the ending. At this point I am invested in all the characters in the books and how their lives evolve throughout the series and I am really looking forward to reading more about Capri and her family and all the mysteries that she is bound to solve.
The audiobook was really good and I love the fact that Stephanie Németh-Parker is the same as the first book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the audiobook for this release! Loved it.

This was a fun follow-up read to A Serial KIller Guide to San Francisco. I enjoyed the little romance throughout, and didn't even come close to solving the mystery. I had both the audio ALC and an eARC which let me fly through this book. This is one of those "lighter" kinds of mysteries that I sometimes crave and definitely delivered.
Thank you to the NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC and an ALC in exchange for an honest review.

I loved A Tour to Die For so much—I read it in 2 days! I was hooked from the very beginning. The writing is so smooth and easy to get into and the twists surprised me (in a good way!).
Nothing felt over the top or too far fetched which I really liked.
One of my favorite things? The FMC is older which was so refreshing. And even though it's not a romance the little romantic moments were adorable. This is probably my favorite cozy mystery I have read in a while. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC—I want more of this series!

I really enjoyed this one! I found it much more entertaining than the first one. I also think the romantic aspect makes it stand out from other mysteries. Definitely recommend!
thank you to Macmillan Audio & NetGalley for the ALC!🫶🏼

A TOUR TO DIE FOR is the second book in the Serial Killer’s Guide to San Francisco by Michelle Chouinard. This fun, cozy mystery romp through San Francisco features tour guide Capri Sanzio, whose specialty is serial killer walking tours. I love how the history of San Francisco is woven into the narrative and then into the plot. It’s obvious the author has done a lot of research to get the details just right. It added authenticity and made me want to pack a bag and visit the City by the Bay. The lead-up to the mystery is unique… a tourist claims to have seen an attack happen while on Capri’s tour, but no evidence of a crime can be found nor was anyone in the apartment when it supposedly happened. Did something nefarious happen, or is the tourist simply looking for attention? Using her investigative journalistic skills, Capri digs for answers. I like how she utilizes online sleuthing skills besides face-to-face questioning. As the action ramps up, so too does Capri’s attraction to the detective. I enjoyed this newest addition to the series and look forward to the next after hints were dropped about future trouble.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Macmillian Audio for an advance audiobook copy. The narrator, Stephanie Németh-Parker, does an admirable job in bringing the characters to life. Her skills made it easy to differentiate between the speakers and made the book enjoyable.

This is such a fun series. When a member of her tour says she has witnessed a crime and the police find nothing, Capri must take matters into her own hands. Is the tour member lying or is something really wrong?
Maybe it’s the nerd in me, but I love the historical tidbits that feel like I’m taking a tour of San Francisco in this book. Capri’s backstory of her serial killer grandfather makes for a unique and interesting read! It’s great to see Capri coming into her own in this book - digging into mysteries regardless of what others tell her.
The audiobook narrator did a great job. A fun and quick read. I can’t wait to see what Capri gets up to next.
Thanks to #MacmillanAudio and #Netgalley for an ALC.

This was a hybrid read for me between the digital copy and audio version. The majority of the book was listened to, mainly because I enjoyed the narrator so much.
I loved the first book in this series and was super excited to see a second book release. This one was just as good! I enjoy trying to solve the mystery along with the characters. There's mystery, wittiness, romance, and humor all wrapped up into this perfect little novel.
The narrator did such a great job in bringing the characters to life. Her different tones in voices was impeccable and made it easy for me to keep track of characters. I could listen to her all day.
I'm hoping for more in this series.
Thanks to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press | Minotaur Books, and Macmillan Audio for advanced copies in exchange for my honest review.

A Tour to Die For by Michelle Chouinard is the 2nd book in her The Serial Killer Guide to San Francisco Mysteries series. Capri Sanzio returns as San Francisco’s infamous true-crime tour guide, and when a tour guest claims to witness an assault in a nearby apartment, Capri’s sleuthing instincts kick in and she’s determined to solve the mystery.
This was a fun continuation from the series!
I enjoyed the character development, fast-paced storyline, and trying to solve the murder mystery along with the characters. Based on how it ended, I assume there will be more to come in the series and I am definitely planning to continue reading!
The audiobook is narrated by Stephanie Németh Parker, who does a great job bringing the characters to life with clear emotion and distinction. I enjoyed her performance overall. The only note is that the default 1.0x speed feels quite slow, so many listeners may prefer to increase the playback speed for a more natural pacing.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and author for granting me a complimentary advanced reader copy of the audiobook. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and based off of this draft; the final publication may be different. Expected publication date is September 23, 2025.

Capri Sanizo is back, and her tour company is more popular than ever after solving the "Overkill Bill" murders. Between the constant questions about her grandfather's supposed crimes, writing a book about the murders, and a possible new romance, Capri is ready for anything. But when one of her guests claims to see a woman attacked in a nearby apartment and the police find no evidence of a crime, Capri decides to investigate why someone would lie about an attack. When her questions lead her to the body of a young woman, Capri finds herself in another murder investigation.
I loved The Serial Killer Guide to San Fransico and was excited to see that there would be a sequel. Capri Sanizo is such a fun character. I love the aspect of her tours throughout San Fransico and the historical information that is given about different locations throughout the book. Although I enjoyed Capri's investigation, I was more invested in the drama occurring in Capri's life. Not only is there the balance of a new relationship with Detective Petito as they navigate the difficulties of investigating the same murder, but Capri is also dealing with her ex-husband, Todd, who seems to be hiding something that could harm Capri or her daughter, Morgan. Overall, I still enjoyed this book, and the ending makes me believe that we will be getting a third book in this series.
A Tour to Die For is out September 23rd.
Thank you to St. Martin's Press, MacMillan Audio and NetGalley for the opportunity to review A Tour to Die For. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I was so excited to get my hands on the ARC of this one, and it did not disappoint. Capri Sanzio is back, just as chaotic, lovable, and determined as ever. The narrator brings her to life perfectly again. It’s even better this time around. You get all of Capri’s quirks and bonehead moves, but you still love her and root for her the entire time.
I really appreciated that the story picks up right where the first book ended. All of the same characters return, and the continuity makes it feel like you're jumping right back into Capri’s world. There’s even a little cliffhanger at the end, which I hope means book three is coming next fall.
The plot does a great job referencing the events of book one without giving away any major spoilers. You could absolutely start with this book if you wanted to. That said, I think reading both makes the experience even more fun.
One of my favorite things about this series is how vivid the San Francisco setting feels. The references to local spots are so fun, and it honestly made me wish I could go take one of Capri’s tours in real life. I loved the new cast of characters and getting even more details about the tours she runs on a daily basis.
This series is the perfect blend of humor, heart, and murdery chaos. I’m completely hooked and already counting down to book three.

Fascinating story. The mystery was okay, but I enjoyed the back story of early San Francisco.
I also enjoyed the fact that Capri (Capricorn) is a middle-aged woman in her second career and has figured out the clues as to what is behind the murders..... good old fashion greed, an homage to California's Gold Rush days.
I also enjoyed the chemistry between Capri and Inspector Petito.
I enjoyed the book enough to want to read more by this author.

While I hadn’t realized there was a first book in the series and hadn’t read it going into this one, I still really enjoyed it. It’s a good and entertaining mystery with enough plot that had me guessing whodunit. Well constructed!
The narrator did a good job and I had no issues with it!

Michelle Chouinard is bringing Capri back for another wild adventure in San Francisco. Buckle up for round two!
Capri provides true crime tours in San Francisco (which all tea all shade is easy to give to yourself in real time if you turn the wrong direction in a few choice local spots), and her interest in this material, as readers of book 1 know, is closely connected to her roots. Years of being discouraged from discussing uncomfortable truths has led to the expected: the desire to share them with everyone. Strangers included!
At the very start of the book, Capri is hosting one of these tours, and a guest feels certain they're witnessing a crime right on the street. Is Capri letting this go? Obviously not. She now must follow her fate to serve as an amateur detective all over the greatest city in the world.
My favorite parts of these books is the atmosphere. I love San Francisco more than almost anything or any other place, so the setting alone really works for me. There are some interesting historical tidbits here, too, though these won't be much to folks who spend a lot of time in the area. The characters and plot? Well...entertaining enough, but they're giving "nice read" versus "mind blowing mystery."
I've enjoyed both books in this series but am hoping that Capri gets a little more compelling as she continues to lead these narratives.

A Tour to Die For by Michelle Chouinard is the 2nd in the series of " a Serial Killer's guide to San Fransico" and like the first in this series a fun listen!

I read the Kindle ARC as well as listen to the audio ARC. I love the narrator they used she annunciates and is very easy to understand and I was able to speed it up to 1.85 and still easily understand everything that was said!
I was worried that this one would not live up to the hype. I read book one and loved it and didn’t know how they would continue the series however it did not disappoint! As much as I loved getting to know Capri in the first book, getting to know her more in depth in the second book and see the budding relationship between her petitto was great! She deserved that after the jerk of an ex that she had. The writing style reminded me a bit of Sue Grafton‘s ABC series which I loved and I love the twists and turns that it took. I highly recommend this to any murder mystery readers!

Such a fun listen.
Very detailed the author did a TON of research for this book. It is both entertaining and intriguing. I really enjoyed it.

Thank you Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for the free alc. My opinions are being left voluntarily. I loved this one more then the earlier book in series. I didn't see the twists coming and there were a few. I enjoyed the narrators who kept me interest. I love the cover alot.
Suggest giving it a try.
