There is a whole lot going on in this series. I'll admit that I lost track of who was who in the cast of side characters. And I wish it had either been gods or dragons, not both. They were competing with each other for control of the vibes.

I will write more when I come down from the high that this book has given me. But what a way to end the trilogy, I absolutely couldn’t stop listening to the audio.

I am genuinely sad it’s over but just wow. There are absolutely no notes to give Chloe knocked it out of the park with this one 5/5 stars easily.

The audiobook narrators did it again too. Making me feel connected to the story and the characters. I swear when I hear Nytes name from Astraea I immediately hold my breath. The audio was so well done. I wouldn’t change a thing. I have enjoyed listening to them for the entire series.

The Dark is Descending was everything I hoped for and so much more. Action-packed from beginning to end, it was a breathtaking conclusion to the Nyte and Astraea’s journey. It’s filled with love, sacrifice, healing, and perseverance.

The romance at the heart of this story was an unyielding, everlasting love. Their love was timeless, spanning lifetimes, and you could truly feel how deeply they complemented each other. It wasn’t just about passion, it was about soul-deep connection and unwavering devotion. That kind of love stays with you long after the book ends.

I especially loved the added adventure of the dragon quest, it brought a fresh, exciting layer to the story and deepened the worldbuilding in a really satisfying way. On top of that, the found family dynamic was heartwarming and added so much emotional depth. The theme of forgiveness and healing, especially between the Nyte and Drystan, was amazing. There’s so much character growth, especially with Nyte, and I loved seeing him on that journey.

The only thing I found myself wanting more of was the behind-the-scenes adventures. A lot stuff happens off-page, particularly with side characters, and while the main story stayed strong, I do think we missed out on some parts of the story that could have added even more depth and adventure. That said, this story really was executed perfectly and was so devastatingly beautiful.

The author did leave a few things open-ended, which is usually not my favorite. But in this case, it felt intentional and right—it gave space for the story to breathe, for the world to live on beyond the final chapter. And the epilogue was absolutely incredible. It provided the perfect emotional payoff and brought closure in the best way.

I don’t usually reread many books, but this is a story I’ll return to again and again. It had everything: love, loss, adventure, strength, and hope.

As for the audiobook, I really can’t rave enough about the narrators. Corvin King and Jacci Prior were absolutely incredible. Their duet narration brought every emotion and character to life with such authenticity and heart. Their narration of Nyte and Astraea throughout this trilogy are one of my all-time favorite performances.

I can’t wait to see what this author does next. She has a true gift for storytelling and creating unforgettable characters. The Dark is Descending is the kind of book that reminds you why you love reading in the first place.

The narrators were fantastic. I have adored this series. I thought it was a great ending to the trilogy, It really wrapped things up perfectly. I do think it was a tad rushed but i loved that we got more of characters throughout it. I is a great mix of romance and action. I cant wait for more books by Chloe and for this to come out,

Man does Nyte get shot with a lot of arrows in this series. I just noticed that a lot. There was a lot of action in this series. Overall, I enjoyed it. I liked the ending.

5 stars to narration. Honestly, 5 stars all around.

Book 3 has been my favorite of the trilogy. We see more heart, adventure, and political maneuvering as well as meeting some new intriguing characters. Chloe has been masterful at making everything and all the trials Estrella & Nyte have faced come full circle. I'm struggling to write this review without any spoilers, but I will say some scenes had my heart racing and fearing for the outcome.

The narrators are brilliant! They channel the characters beautifully. I feel this was a great ending to this trilogy. However, I didnt connect to the characters as much as I wanted to. I enjoyed myself nonetheless!

I’m so lucky to have been able to listen to this, as an arc I love this series so much especially the audio. I had very high hopes for this but if I’m being completely honest as much as I love this series it felt so rushed at the end trying to wrap everything up. It felt like it needs another book. But that being said I will be buying this once it’s published I love Nyte and the story so much.

I feel like things came together really well, and the twists and turns just kept coming even in this book. I think the pacing felt right given everything they need to accomplish in this book to wrap everything up, and I felt like we got even more of Drystan which I liked!

Moody, intense, and utterly captivating—The Dark Is Descending is fantasy with teeth. The prose is lush, the stakes feel real, and the slow-burn tension? Torturous in the best way. I’m already desperate for more.

The Dark is Descending ARC via NetGalley Narrated by Corvin King; Jacci Prior. Corvin King is the king of narrators. His voice is so smooth, deep and relaxing. Jacci is always a great narrator for the warrior type of character.

However, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the book. The world building seemed a bit too complex for me. I felt lost in the boundaries of the power, each character and their connections.
