Cute and cozy about a retirement home for witches. A fun read from DK with adorable illustrations.

This playful story whisks readers away to Anderson House—a retirement home for witches where mischief, magic, and mayhem are part of everyday life. 🪄
The star of the story, Myrtle Stormwhisper, is such a wonderful character. She’s convinced her spell-casting days are over, but when adventure comes knocking, she has to find her courage (and her magic!) again—with the help of her witchy friends.
Jennie Poh’s illustrations bring the story to life with so much charm, adding layers of whimsy and warmth that kids will absolutely adore. 🌙👻
This book is the perfect mix of spooky and silly, making it ideal for fall reading, Halloween storytime, or any child who loves magical adventures with heart. 💕

This book was exactly what I needed to brighten my three-day weekend. It was a delightful blend of coziness, humor, and charm that kept me thoroughly entertained. The vibrant color illustrations beautifully complemented the narrative, enhancing the overall experience. I particularly appreciated the inclusion of a well-crafted map, not only showcasing the quaint town but also detailing the unique layout of the retirement home. Such thoughtful additions truly brought the story to life. I can just imagine how much the kids will relish this enchanting tale, and I sincerely hope to add it to our school library collection, where it will undoubtedly become a beloved favorite.

I think readers of all ages will enjoy this fun read about how a retired witch dusts off her powers and broom to help a neighborhood kid find something he’s lost. Age is just a number and that’s proven in this book! The beautiful artwork that follows the story makes this read that much more enjoyable!

This magical story is adorned with beautiful, evocative art that perfectly captures its charm. I loved the wonderfully wacky residents of Anderson House and the clever way the book seamlessly blends important learning moments into its fun plot.
What makes this book so special is its heartfelt, dual-audience message. For young readers, it’s an inspirational invitation to connect with the elderly, showing the joy that intergenerational friendships can bring. For older readers, it's a powerful reminder that life doesn't end at retirement—there are always new adventures to be had.
Ultimately, this book is a lovely and joyous celebration of life in all its stages. A truly wonderful read.

This book had beautiful illustrations and a touching message. This book is about Myrtle rediscovering her magic. She learns that it doesn't matter your age for you to do things that you enjoy or things that you are good at. The setting for this book is at a retirement home for witches. I can't wait to hear more stories from the retired witches at Anderson House

This was quite literally the most darling children’s book I have ever seen. The cover is enchanting, the illustrations are beautiful, and the story is wholesome and fun and full of gentle witchy adventure. I adored it so much! I can’t wait to get my hands on a physical copy (or a few) to give to my kiddo and all the kids in my life!
