It's addictive reading and ends on a cliffhanger, which makes reading the next book in the series a must.

A really good read. The first half was what I was expecting, super emotional and super steamy! The second half was totally different and brought suspense and drama. Looking forward to the next in the series!

This is the start of another great new dark billionaire romance series and I'm loving this genre so much at the moment, I just couldn't resist grabbing another.

This is the first book in the Billionaires Of London series and although a pretty standard cover image for this genre, I'm just a sucker for a brooding, morally grey looking MMC and dived straight in!

I loved getting to know our main characters Gregory and Scarlett.
There's definitely a lot of mystery surrounding Gregory and I think that we haven't seen everything just yet.
Scarlett was a great advocate for working women in a man's world - great at her job and I loved her no-nonsense attitude to getting the job done.

Obviously the sexual tension between the pair is palpable and we soon see the working relationship making way for something altogether much more spicy!
These were hot and heavy, but also didn't take away from the underlying story which was well plotted and filled with suspense and excitement.

My only problem is that ending!!
How could you leave us hanging like that!
I'm absolutely obsessed and just need to get my hands on book 2 asap to find out what happens next!

Umm this book was so good!! This is my first read by this author and I have to say I'm hooked !! I need more.

Ruthless Love is majority written in the first-person narrative of FMC Scarlett. Scarlett is a lawyer whose job is working in company acquisitions. She meets the CEO of a tech company, Gregory Ryans and her whole life shifts. Not only is she immediately drawn to Gregory, but agreeing to assist him with a hostile takeover sets in motion a series of events that will change her life, and not always for the better. Meanwhile, at home Scarlett and her Nanny-turned-best friend are caring for her father who has Alzheimer's. His health is rapidly declining and it's all Scarlett can do to balance work and home.

I found this story to be fast paced in some parts, and dragging in others. I think the relationship between Scarlett and Gregory could have used more but then there's other parts where she's shopping for clothes, for example, where those scenes could have been way shorter.

I enjoyed the first person narrative of Scarlett. I think the author did a great job of describing the emotions, and the day-to-day life of living and caring for someone with Alzheimer's. This was a huge part of the story... and I think the true love story of Ruthless Love was between Scarlett and her father vs Scarlett and Gregory. It was beautiful and heart breaking. I appreciate the time the author put into describing this relationship.

The book ends on a cliffhanger, which I did not expect! I thought maybe book 2 would be a different FMC and MMC but I believe it's going to have to be a continuation of Ruthless Love. I'm not mad about that. I'm interested to see where the story goes from here. I also really enjoyed the side characters of Sandy and Jackson and do hope we get a book about the two of them!

This book was medium paced with plenty of spicy scenes. I liked to see Gregory change and open up to Scarlett and finally get revenge for his past in the explosive ending. I'm looking forward to book 2.

This is a dark romance with oodles of spiciness! I haven't read anything by this author before but you can be sure I will read more, especially since this is the first in a series, and given that cliffhanger, I need more, now!!
At the beginning when we were learning the characters, and the story with the buyover, I thought where can this possibly go, well, it went dark, it got a little heavy at times, I dont usually expect to cry reading a dark romance but I teared up a few times in this!
I loved all of the characters, Jackson and Sandy gave me super warm and fuzzies though, they clearly love Gregory and Scarlett and were just generally lovely people. Gregory is an overbearing, powerful man, but somehow its these characters that I always root for the hardest. Scarlett was a super successful woman in her career and had a huge heart. I just adored seeing both of them develop throughout.
I thought this was super fast paced and I was gripped from the start, I read it in a couple of sittings over the course of about 18hours, including sleep, I was just hooked!
As I mentioned, this ends on a cliffhanger, I have no idea what more is to come but I can't wait to find out!

I enjoyed this billionaire romance. While Scarlett has lived a comfortable life, when she meets Gregory at work, she is swept into a life of jewels, fancy meals, hired drivers and crime. I liked the Gregory was kind, and listened to Scarlett and respected her boundaries. While ruthless in certain cases, the people around Gregory were kind and respectful.

If you like billionaire romances, this is definitely a good one!

This was a really good read. This is my third book by this author. I did like Scarlett and Gregory characters. I liked the writing style and the story. Some spicy scenes. I read this book in two sittings. I couldn't put it down. What a great start to a new series. I liked the setting. I've never been to London. Wow. This book does end in a cliffhanger. I need book two now. I do recommend this book.

So this is book one in the London billionaires series. We have Scarlet who is a straightlaced play by the rules lawyer whose only focus is her career and her father who has Alzheimer’s, she doesn’t have the time nor the inclination for anything else. Then we have the arrogant, morally grey billionaire Gregory who is used to getting what he wants when he wants it, and just happens to be a new client at Scarlett‘s law firm. Sparks fly from the very first moment they meet and Scarlett is quickly drawn into Gregory‘s orbit, whether she wants it or not.

I really enjoyed this book, Laura‘s writing style is great, the characters are well developed, and I really liked the way Laura showed the growth of the characters throughout the story. there are lots of great plot twists and the red herring along the way, and oh my God, what a cliffhanger! I certainly wasn’t expecting that. I can’t wait to read the next instalment of the series. This was a great four-star read for me and I would definitely recommend.

This was fantastic morally grey MMC who’s a grumpy billionaire CEO with a touch her and die vibe, right up my street.
Scarlett on the other hand is a sunshine and light lawyer caring for her sick father.
The first in the billionaires of London series and it’s left me desperate to read book 2.
Lots of drama and tension plus quite emotional in parts, plus steamy too, a really good read and a lot of good characters, I have a soft spot for Jackson.

Gregory is a billionaire who is not afraid to veer into the morally grey zone to achieve what he wants and to protect those he love. From the moment he sets his eyes upon Scarlett, she is his to protect.

Unfortunately, things escalate beyond his control and leads to lots of angst. I loved the gradual reveal of their past. While they both suffered from different hurts, together they became each other’s safe space.

This was the first book in a series, and it also ends on a cliffhanger. You will enjoy reading this if you love a morally grey, alpha billionaire who will stop at nothing to protect the woman he loves.

The ending…. There’s no pages left I got so lost in the story I didn’t even realise it was just about the end.

Poor Scarlett, she’s been through so much heartache it was so nice to read all the happy moments that came her way love her :)

Gregory, what a man loved him he’s got enough tension and soft to him to make him a great character and one we want to swoon over with Scarlett.

As a fan of Laura Carter’s romcoms, I was excited to see her take on a darker romance—and Ruthless Love, the first in her Billionaires of London series, did not disappoint.

This story follows billionaire CEO Gregory and M&A lawyer Scarlett in a high-stakes, high-chemistry workplace romance. The setup immediately hooked me: morally grey, emotionally guarded Gregory hires Scarlett to help with a crucial business deal, but neither expects the intense connection—or the secrets that begin to surface.

Gregory is a complex and enigmatic male lead, and Carter does a fantastic job of slowly unraveling his layers through Scarlett’s sharp, empathetic lens. Scarlett herself is a standout heroine—intelligent, composed, and unwilling to be intimidated. The dynamic between them is electric from the start, filled with tension, banter, and simmering attraction.

This was such a really fun and addictive fun time and the spice was a little bit cringy but I didn't mind it as much as other dark romances. I also really feel like the writing was quite surface-level and generic which wasn't a big much of a bother so overall still a great book.

The premise of the book held promise, however I found the writing disjointed, the plot echoed another popular series in places, and I wasn’t overly enamoured with the Scarlet or Gregory.

I’d maybe recommend it to someone as a quick vacation read.
