I love Laura’s books so couldn’t wait to read this one. I am struggling with what to write as the review as I’m torn. This is quite different to the other books of Laura’s and some parts of it felt like it was trying to copy another well known book about a controlling billionaire. Even some of the sexier parts felt that way. It wasn’t even the more racy parts that kept me reading. I also struggled a little with the story line concept of the father being a murderer as it just felt a little unrealistic. The book also then ended rather abruptly just as the action had got going. However in saying that I did enjoy it and it kept me up later some nights reading

The writing was engaging and I enjoyed the author’s tone, but overall struggled with the MMC, who was domineering and controlling to an extent that felt problematic. The FMC started out as an interesting character, but I like strong and independent female leads and struggled with the dynamic between her and MMC. Some elements of the plot required quite a bit of suspended disbelief.

This is a slow-burn romance with a lot of tension and chaotic moments. As well as some dark, dangerous situations.
The story was well written and flowed at a medium pace for me.
There were some spicy scenes and a lot of plot. The story surrounding the romance was good.
The characters were described well, making it easy to understand who they were.
The story flowed seamlessly throughout with some side plots/stories.

This was a really nice easy billionaire romance, it hooked me in and kept me engaged all the way through. I liked the fact that the fmc was an educated and independent woman, while the mmc gave all you want in a he falls first and is Mr Grumpy type of way.
I liked the developing relationship between the social and work groups and how that interwove with the story.
It did cover some very sensitive themes, I feel these were developed appropriately and with care throughout the story.
It was everything you want in a romance, light quick and easy to read. I liked the characters and thought Amanda was super fun. Would definitely recommend!

Scarlett is a lawyer in London and takes on a new billionaire client , Gregory. He has an acquisition he wants to do but she’s unsure of his intentions - with the acquisition and with her. Meanwhile, she’s helping her former nanny, Sandy, take care of her ailing father.
This was an interesting read as it’s categorized as dark romance but honestly I didn’t think it was that dark. However, it was a good mix of a love story, a shady deal and the love of a father and daughter. Also, major cliffhanger.

This was a struggle to get into and through. I felt like a lot happened but also didn’t. You were told things but also felt like somethings were missing or not included that would have helped things make more sense. It felt incomplete and not fully developed. With more details and development could have been more of a duo or series or at least less like oh they were really into the smut writing part but not the story and lacking of clear plot. The possibility was there but not in execution. Unfortunately, even getting to the end it didn’t like it; wasn’t for me. I wouldn’t recommend to others. Find something else to read you’ll be way more likely to enjoy.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity and Boldwood Books for the ARC copy allowing me shares my honest thoughts.

This one is a vibes read if ever I have met a vibes read. Does what it says on the box. We laughed, we cried, we raged, we watched girly run circles around our MMC.
Billionaires baby... just something about it.

First off let me just say that I dislike the name Gregory for a love interest but I'm willing to overlook that for this book because Gregory is one hot, morally grey, seductive man. I can 100% see why Scarlett was so into him and I would have been as well. I thought this was going to be mostly smut with a bit of plot, but I'm happy to say that this one, while the spice is plentiful enough, there is enough plot to balance out the story. I thoroughly enjoyed the spicy scenes and also, who doesn't want their love interest to buy them fancy things? Yes. Please. This book is a bit on the darker side and I felt so bad knowing that Scarlett's dad was sick and not knowing how that was going to play out. I absolutely hated Gregory's father and he is a giant pile of dung.
I wasn't aware that this book ended on a cliffhanger so when it ended I was like wait, what? I had to turn the page back to see if I missed something. I'm definitely interested in seeing how the story continues in the next book.

Where do I start...
Well the premise sounded promising and I'm always open to trying books. But honestly I struggled to get through this. It reminded me so much of a very popular book series that went viral and films were made of them. And the spice was very mediocre. I just couldn't shake my thoughts unfortunately and found my self skipping those scenes in the end.
This was an e-arc on net galley for my honest review.

Ruthless Love wasn't so ruthless. A story of a stone heart billionaire and a smart and sassy lawyer. I really enjoyed the plot line of the book with the back and forth of emotions and catching the bad guy. My only pet peeve was the brand name dropping, I despise it in books but that's my opinion. I did get a little annoyed about 75% in the book where Gregory kind of had a personality transplant for a few chapters. Otherwise the book was really enjoyable and I can't wait to read the next installment.

A wickedly tempting dark billionaire romance,
If you enjoy spicy, billionaire romance stories then this book is for you.
This book was addicting it has revenge, spice, obsession, with a slow burning romance ,
The tension between the two was 🔥you could just feel it as you read along.
You’ll find yourself rooting them on when your not sure you should
I already what to read the next book

While this is a spicy little workplace/ billionaire romance book, it's the side story of Scarlett caring for her dad with Alziemers that really had me hooked. She's trying to balance working full time in a demanding job, caring and have a social life.
With a sleazy boss and someone darker storylines this book has me gripped.
Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read this book 💛

I loved the premise of Gregory and Scarlett’s story, full of romance which I love. I did have trouble with some of the conversations as they seemed to drift off assuming what was on the characters mind. Scarlett is cautious towards Gregory, which is understandable, yet the sexual attraction lies between them that is off the charts. With some mystery, romance and a cliffhanger this is one you want to read.

I think the book is a 3- 3.5 ⭐️.
I had high hoppes for it, but unfortunately the story didn't speak to me.
I think everything was too rushed between the characters.
Scarlett, an acquisition lawyer is hired to help Gregory , a billionaire CEO ,to buy a business. She finds out the real reason why he is doing this, and even though she thinks is not right , she does it.
Everything happens too fast, the second time they meet , in a bar, goes to dinner and he demands that she accompanies him to a gala. A little bit presumption I will say.
And how the story evolves till the end, that finishes with a cliffhanger, still didn't make me want to read book 2 also.
Thank you to Boldwood Books and the author for this ARC. This is my only and honest opinion.

When young lawyer, Scarlett Heath agrees to take on a Business Acquisition case for the company headed by Gregory Ryans, she isn’t expecting to feel powerfully attracted to the brooding billionaire.
Thus begins this steamy, romantic story. I thought the characters of Scarlet and Gregory were very intriguing. It was easy to get caught up in their whirlwind romance.
Beyond romance, this book is also a thriller. I’m not entirely certain that the book needed the dramatic element the thriller aspect introduced, but I still thought that it was well done.
This is the first book in the series and I will definitely be reading the second book to see what comes next for Scarlett and Gregory.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

oh hello to an excited read that kept you on your toes and fully absorbed throughout.
this was a gripping read with characters we are certainly gripped to.
this book had all those deep and heart tugging moments. this books get you and wraps itself around your mind and time.
in this book both characters are being set out for us. we are getting to know them whilst also seeing how they do or might fit together. and straight away we are being pulled in directions of will they wont they or even should they shouldn't they. im on Scarlett's side from the off and so was a bit side eye of a few things towards Gregory but then had to put my morally grey areas cynicism aside and just enjoy the book for what i was was.
and there is more to come from them in the next story so i feel my emotions will be pulled and feelings changed even more so. especially as i'm already involved and caring about whats going to happen. and thats when i know i like a book. when i care about people and outcomes.
i really enjoyed the pairs interactions. the bond that is instant but also the one that is clearly growing. the deep and surface level of these pair is a joy to witness.
the involvement of the others in both the pairs life is also fab and totally adds to the brilliant way this book held my heart.
a great book and im so excited for their to be more. bring it now because i am not ok with the feelings this left me with and how i need to know more like NOW. how dare it leave it like it did. i dont like caring so much about a set of characters lol. not when im left not knowing...

*I want to start by thanking the author and publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced release copy of this book. Wow🌶️🌶️

⭐️ ‘You’re not the only one under a spell, Mr Ryans.’ I am 100 per cent besotted with this man. ⭐️
I have to admit. This did start off quite slow for me, but once I got into it, the pace picked up and held my attention.
I would’ve liked to have had more chapters of Gregory’s POV but this doesn’t take away from the story, in fact it adds more mystery to Mr Gregory Ryans. Like why is he so evasive? Why is he not being completely honest?
I liked Scarlett, she is a smart woman, who stands up to Gregory. I think her being a lawyer gives her that edge.
I always love meeting the side characters, it took a little longer for it to explain who Sandy was in the story, which again for me, I like knowing who is who!
That cliffhanger though. Nah. I need the next books already!

Scarlett is a lawyer and is called upon to represent a billionaire CEO. But little does she know that the smart and sexy Gregory Ryans life behind the money will lead to danger and a ruthless act of revenge.
Carter gives us an exciting and thrilling romance, with a narrative filled with danger and spice.
I love how the main male character, Gregory, is described, showing his past and how he has walls up to protect himself, while Scarlett is a badass lawyer, but showing her human side and her vulnerability in his life.
This was a really quick read, that I couldn't get enough out and I look forward to the next instalment.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Ruthless Love. This is the first book in Laura Carter’s Billionaires of London series. I say series because I’m unsure whether this will be a duet or trilogy, or perhaps there will be more than three books published. This novel, however, is Scarlett and Gregory’s story, and it is to be continued into the next book at least.
Told through Scarlett’s POV with a nicely timed chapter from Gregory, Ruthless Love is a suspenseful story. I became quickly hooked and my attention was held throughout. The closing scenes and chapters of this narrative definitely had my heart racing. I love Scarlett’s personality. I handed over my heart to Gregory who is a perfect example of an alpha male. The interactions between the couple are fabulous to witness. They have chemistry. I love this storyline too.
I’m hoping that Scarlett and Gregory’s close circle have their own stories told at some point. I absolutely loved meeting Jackson, Amanda, Sandy and Williams. They each add to the story perfectly, and I would love to know their thoughts and feelings regarding everything that we have learned in this book, and discover what happens next for them all too.
If you enjoy spicy, billionaire romance stories then this book is for you. Plus, for those who love a cliffhanger…. this is a cracking one!! I’m desperate to know what happens next!!
