Do I think Anna Hultin is supremely talented? Yes. Are her works gorgeous? Absolutely. Do I think I will be able to make similar works after reading this? Sadly no...
I think this is a beautiful book with a wonderful and unique embroidery concept. But I don't think it really taught me *how* to do these things. Hultin mentions tricks, tips, how her process works, but none of it really made me think "I could totally do this." Maybe that is just me doubting my own abilities and other people would be able to follow along with her explanations and methods.
Either way, gorgeous artwork, gorgeous book. I enjoyed simply looking at her work.

Fantastic book. The Stitched Landscape is a comprehensive guide to stitching realistic landscapes using different embroidery stitches, needle painting and watercolour. The end result is amazingly beautiful art. I can’t wait to give this a go. The pictures, diagrams and text explanations look like they will be straightforward to follow. It’s a well laid out book with plenty of photos. I’m definitely going to buy a copy for myself and to gift to a stitchy friend!

Anna Hultin is so talented! Her embroidery is in a class of its own. She uses watercolor and needle painting to make such realistic landscapes, and my mind can't keep up! I love looking at this book and absolutely treated as an art book rather than a guide in how to recreate the patterns.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

Nature Stitches by Anna Hultin is a creative guide to embroidering the natural world, from flowers and trees to full landscapes. With step-by-step instructions and a mix of classic and experimental techniques, it’s easy to follow even if you’re a beginner. The book encourages personal observation, turning nature walks into unique, stitched artwork. Creative techniques like fabric collage, watercolor on fabric, and stitching with raw wool make this book stand out. It’s a gorgeous and grounding way to connect art with the outdoors.
