How is it possible that this is book 23? This is one of my two most favorite police procedural series. I’ve become as invested in the team as I am in the cases in each book. I love Josie and Noah carving out their own idea of family and their struggles. I love that they can make working together work and that they’ve also created a work family that is ever changing and the struggles that happen as it changes over time. I hated that Noah’s part was small in this book, but that was definitely offset with growth with Turner. I still love the smile it brings me when any of the team has to use the insult jar, but I like how he is slowly becoming a productive member of the team and that his personal life is peeking out. I can’t wait to get more of his story.

The case in this book grabbed me from the start. A couple driving home just disappears. Never makes it home and there was no trace of them. Until now. As I read it, it’s the small details that grab me even more. The skeleton key grabbed me as it’s unique and I can picture it and wonder what part it might ultimately play. There were twists and secrets that kept me guessing in the fast moving case.

This was the whole package for me. A complex case that kept me guessing and lots of character development among the team. Picking up not long after book 22, the repercussions were still playing out. The author always provides backstory for anything you might need, but part of what makes the series great is the growth of the characters, so while you can read this as a stand alone, I’d highly suggest reading the entire series. What’s a mere 23 books? Am I right? I’m already chomping at the bit to see what the author has in store for Turner and the rest of the team.

I have loved Josie Quinn from the very beginning! I love that this book shows her inner circle and support system hrowing even more.

Her latest case, brings all the twists and turns. Even when I thought I had it figured out, I only had half the story, the other half made my jaw drop!

If you love Josie, Noah and Trout, you will not be sorry that you continued their story with "The Couple's Secret"

This is one of the best novels in the series: intense, twisty, featuring flawed and complex characters, and at times disturbing.
Part crime thriller and part psychological thriller, it revolves around a cold case that turns out to be much more than it first appears.
There’s a rollercoaster of shocking twists and a resolution that feels like staring into the abyss (fortunately, the abyss doesn’t stare back).
As usual, I enjoyed the developments in Josie and Noah’s lives, and the new characters were a great addition.
Not a book to relax with, but perfect when you need a good dose of adrenaline.

My second book in this series by Lisa Regan. It started off okay but I was bored through a lot of it. I needed more action and until the 70% mark it didn’t go by fast. I did like the twist and didn’t see it coming. I feel like if I had read more books in this series, I would’ve felt more for the characters. This is book #23 so my fault for not reading more. I do it give it 3.5 ⭐️

Josie and Noah at it again. I love the balance in these books of home life and work. They have a full house in this one. Family in a unique way, but I always had a feeling that their story would be unique.

Even with their busy house, they’re still hard at work, attempting to figure out how the couple they found was killed. They’d been missing for years, but no one knew why. Were they good people, or not?

There was a lot of family drama in this one. The murder victims children have stayed close, and there’s a lot of hatred towards the daughter’s father. I felt for the children, they suffered greatly when their parents disappeared, but somehow they stuck it out.

Lisa Regan has written another winner with Book 23, The Couple’s Secret. This book series follows Josie Quinn, detective for the small fictional town Denton, PA.

A car was discovered in the river where 2 bodies have been found inside. Life seems not to be dull even in Central PA. Follow Josie and her team as they investigate another crime that turns the town for a loop.

Not only does Josie have her job investigating crime but she has found herself as a guardian to a teenager along with her husband, Noah. Being a detective is hard but this may prove to be more challenging!

Regan does an incredible job of keeping readers engaged with characters and the excitement as crimes are investigated. Her books always have twists and turns so that you still end up surprised at the end.

I had not read any of the Josie Quinn series before, but now I definitely want to add more to my TBR.

This started off pretty quick and I enjoyed the immediate suspense.

Another great read by Lisa Reagan. I love all of the books in the Josie Quinn series. I love the way the author gives you all the mystery, twists and turns, and suspense, while still giving you a realistic view of the main character’s life. It really keeps me invested to know not only the job of the characters but their personal struggles. This makes them more relatable.

In book 23 Josie and her partner are pulled into a cold case when the car of a missing couple is pulled from the river with their bodies inside. It is found that they were murdered and Josie goes on the hunt for the killer. If you love a thriller,that keeps you guessing you will love this one! highly recommend.

Wow! Just wow! The more I read this latest book in the Josie Quinn series, the more shocked I became. What a thrilling story with shocking twists! I even had to stop reading for a moment at one point to say, “Oh wow!”

As the prologue reads, there’s a sentence that just might haunt you page after page: “Leave while you still can.”

Detective Josie Quinn is investigating the case of two victims found in a car deep in a river. Their names were Tobias Lachlan and Cora Stevens, and at first glance, it seems as if they might have driven off the road and sunk in the river. However, an examination by the medical examiner reveals otherwise. Josie begins by looking for the why of the murders, especially once the exact cause of death is determined.

Josie and her husband Noah have not only experienced dangerous and life-threatening situations but also a recent devastating disappointment. Despite these challenges, there are bright points in their lives. They have something special planned for their fifth anniversary and are now the guardians of a teenager named Wren. Becoming parents of a teen wasn’t something Josie or Noah had imagined, so their joys are mixed with some stress.

The investigation runs deeper than Josie could’ve ever expected, and Josie searches for clues that will lead to the right answers. As the couple that had died had adult children, that is where her investigation began. The excitement in this 23rd book doesn’t stop and it is an absolutely amazing read that left me in awe.

This series would definitely be enjoyed if beginning from the first book as getting to know Josie, Noah and their coworkers would really connect you to the series. Admittedly, I came into the series with book three, and with the first two in my TBR, and plan on correcting that oversight very soon.

If you are follower of the series, (and if not, why?) this book picks up soon after book 22 ended, Husband Missing. That book was equally as compelling as this one is, and left a huge thirst for this 23rd book. Lisa Regan did not disappoint. Not at all. She brings Josie to life, making her tangible and easy to connect with. I hope this series keeps on enduring as I want to see Josie, Noah and Wren grow as a family while Josie tackles the most difficult of cases.

As she works the case , nothing seems as easily apparent as the survivors would have you believe.
Everyone seems to be hiding something and Jose is determined yo get to the bottom of the gruesome murder and apparently well planned cover up.
Great action, writing and characters that are well defined: some old friends and some new.
Superb suspense and riveting action.
Good read.

Lisa Regan hit it out of the park with this book. It was gripping, shocking, thrilling, mysterious and so hard to put down.

Josie Quinn is called to investigate the discovery of a car submerged in a river, little does she know this discovery is going to open a cold case from years ago. As the investigation continues, family and friends are questioned, and another body related to the case is found. As the investigation kicks up to high gear and the stakes get higher and higher!

This series is one of my favorite series as you can expect shocking mysteries, thrilling detective work while also getting premium character development and getting the see glimpses into their personal lives.

As always Lisa always leaves me wanting more and I can’t wait to see what more she is going to give us in the next book, I have a feeling it is going to be good!

If you are looking for a book full of secrets, tension twists, and chilling moments this is the book for you.

Josie Quinn is not only an amazing cop but she is an ever-growing, ever-changing human being. Her personal growth is tempered by her professional growth as a cop. Regan has built a powerful and very human character who has lived through trauma and extreme happiness and continues surprise her audience in new and different ways, She is surrounded by colleagues and family who show these same qualities and it makes for an enticing read every time. At this juncture she and Noah are still recovering from his abduction and near death as well as the arrival of a new family member: Wren, who is the daughter of the only “stepfather” Josie had had who cared for her. Wren, like most teenagers, is proving to be a challenge, but Josie is hanging in.

This is a most peculiar case in that the people in the car that had been discovered in the river had been there for seven years. One night they had simply vanished and now everyone knew why. When the call first came in, the police were skeptical, but once they arrived at the scene and Josie dove into retrieve a license plate, things were confirmed and moved quickly to a rather unpleasant end. It is good solid, police work, as well as a good measure of intuition and some experience thrown in. There was no perception that anyone was in danger, although that proved to be false, so the thriller aspect was not present, but rather an intriguing mystery, one in which everyone told lies. Getting past the lies is the police work and Josie and Gretchen were able to with the help of their team. It was an intriguing mystery and great fun to follow along as it was solved.

As they navigate parenthood and a new, tumultuous relationship with their charge, Wren, they are also presented a case that hits a bit too close to home: the bodies of a couple who went missing 7 years ago are found submerged in their vehicle, and Josie and Noah's team have no clues to what happened. As they delve into the lives of the couple, who were bringing together a blended family of their own that left behind two teenage children and another in his early twenties, they not only have trouble finding motive for anyone to have killed the couple, but they also see the lasting trauma on the children, making them worry even more for Wren. I love the characters in this series, they are multidimensional and the reader cares about them, and the plot is twisty, clever, and creative!

I loved returning to the world of Josie Quinn.
An absolutely brilliant start to this book, book 23 of the series. The characters are so well worked out that it is just familiar to read about them. Like you know them so well that you understand their reasonings and their actions taken. That makes the story so much more interesting and impressive to read.
As always there are plenty of twists and exciting turns that take the reader on a journey to find the answer. I love to follow the journey that Josie takes while solving the crimes. Josie is a wonderful complex character as are the plots. This is fantastic addition to the series and looking forward to many more.

As soon as I get my hands on a Josie Quinn book, I drop whatever I am doing (if possible), and read it immediately. As always with a Lisa Regan novel, this was an edge-of-my-seat, can’t-put-the-book down story. Josie and her team get tied up in a cold case - once missing persons from another town, now found drowned in their vehicle in Denton - a couple who left behind three young adult/teen children. Stirring up the dust as she does, Josie balances somewhat awkwardly dealing with her own personal issues while digging deeper into the lives of the traumatized family. Excellent on many levels, with an amazing teaser at the end for more on the taciturn Turner who remains a thorn in Josie’s side.

The next book in the Josie Quinn series follows Josie and mainly Gretchen as they try to solve a cold case. A couple that went missing without a trace seven years ago has been found in their car in a lake. However, they both were murdered, and now the detectives must pick up the cold case where it left off.

Another good book in this series! I like the new dynamic of Josie and Noah trying to figure out how to parent Wren and also a reversal of the normal roles with Josie patiently insisting to Noah he gets help. With the actual mystery, I do wish there had been one or two more people that could have been suspects. It only really ever was within the family and the two related characters, and kind of then barely as there were only a few to really be old enough to commit the crime. So the ending was not mind-blowing. But like all Josie Quinn books. it was a fast-paced, enjoyable mystery to read!

Somehow this series still feels fresh and the author keeps coming up with new story ideas. I loved the multiple storylines - from the latest murder investigation, to Josie's home life (both the Noah and Wren), and to the surprising bomb dropped regarding Kyle Turner.

The murder investigation starts with the discovery of two bodies trapped in a car in the Susquehanna River. While it's fairly easy to determine who the couple are based on the car's license plate and the woman's purse being in the car, it takes more time to find out who killed them and why.

There are plenty of suspects, especially the closer they get to solving the case. And as annoying as Detective Turner can be, he does make some good points at times. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and can't wait to see what is store next for Josie and her team.

Wow! Wow! (in a good way), that was how I felt after I finished this book. It was very good, but it wrecked me. Anyway, a couple's bodies were recovered, and they had been missing for seven years. The couple seemed like a perfect one, and no one had anything bad to say about them until Josie and Gretchen started looking into it. Investigating old friends and family until they found cracks in their lives. The suspense was perfect, and I liked it. This book is a page turner, and you can't help but continue until you find out what actually happened. The ending shocked me, and nothing could have prepared me for it. However, I can't forgive the author for the last-minute murder. It was not necessary, to be honest. But, everything else about the thriller was very good.

We have our FMC and lead detective, Josie Quinn, who's phenomenal and very good at her job. This is the 23rd book in the series and the first one I'm reading, and I didn't feel confused about anything. From the first chapter, the author explained who was whom and how they came to be in Josie's life without giving any spoilers about the cases they've solved before. I also liked the scenes, including her detective husband, Nick, and Wren, her ward. I wished her husband had worked with her closely, though

This book was really really good and I enjoyed it. The first couple of chapters were slow, but the rest of the book made up for it. I have mixed feelings about the ending, but I have no choice but to accept it. I would definitely recommend it, and I can't wait for the next book in the series!

I loved this story, it was so twisty that I had no idea.
A submerged car with the remains of two bodies starts off a search that went from a missing couple to a double homicide.

It was so hard to put down as Josie and her team dug into evidence and witnesses from 7 years ago. Someone must be lying and it's going to take good detective work to get to the bottom of this mystery.

I really enjoy this author's mind as she weaves her tale. Little breadcrumbs throughout that I missed until the end, but that's good as I loved the surprise I got.

I also enjoy the insight into the characters personal lives, proving they are not robots always switched on.

Fantastic story, I absolutely loved it.
