I am a die hard fan of the Josie Quinn Series so I was eager to get my hands on The Couple's Secret. The Couple’s Secret is book 23 of the Josie Quinn series and just like books 1-22 in the series it is an awesome read!
In this one, Josie has to crack a cold case when the bodies of a couple, Cora and Tobias, who disappeared 7yrs ago are discovered in a submerged car in a river in Denton. When it turns out the couple were murdered, the cold case takes on a sinister turn. Josie and Gretchen turn to the couple's family and business partner for answers- digging into secrets and lies to get to the bottom of the murders.
Meanwhile we pick up where we left off in book 22 on Josie and Noah's personal life. Noah is struggling with his personal demons from the traumas of his kidnapping, which is sad to see him struggle. Josie and Noah are trying to navigate being Wren's guardian. It is interesting to see them in this parental role.
We also get a breadcrumb into Turner's personal life. I am looking forward to getting into that more in the next book, hopefully!
Overall, Lisa Reagan remains the queen of detective novels for me and I continue to love and devour her Josie Quinn books!
Thank you to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

Detective Josie Quinn and her partner, Gretchen, were called to an old site in Denton, far from the town and unused in the main. A car had been sighted in the river as with the drought, levels had fallen further than usual. What they found was the bodies of two people who had gone missing seven years prior; who had basically vanished into thin air with the police investigation stalling for lack of evidence. Now Josie, Gretchen, Noah and Turner were on the case, determined to find answers, especially for the couple's three children.
After days of frustration, only learning that the two in the car had been brutally murdered, Josie felt her irritation rising. Meeting and getting to know Tobias & Cora's children, Jackson, Zane and Riley, now adults, Josie felt their loss deeply and needed to bring them closure. But could she? The evidence was sparse; seven years in the river had washed any signs away. And then there was Noah, who was still suffering from their last case. And Wren - sweet, grieving, teenage Wren. Would Josie cope with it all? Of course...
The Couple's Secret is the 23rd in the Detective Josie Quinn series by Lisa Regan and it was another cracker of a read! I love catching up with Noah & Josie, as well as Gretchen (Turner not so much!) and now Wren is in their lives, there's an added layer of softness to them both. I'm already looking forward to #24 :) Highly recommended.
With thanks to NetGalley & Bookouture for my digital ARC to read and review.

Denton is my favorite book town. I never pass up a chance to go back there. In book 23 of the Josie Quinn series a car has turned up sunk deep in the river in Denton. When the plates match it to a couple that went missing over 7 years ago, Josie knows this is not going to be an easy case. The Couple’s Secret takes Josie and Gretchen back in time to essentially solve a cold case, a case that has already been gone over again and again. Will the Denton PD be able to find something that was missed the first time around?
As usual, in the midst of the investigation we learn more details about Josie and Noah’s family and relationship with each other. Noah has been struggling since his kidnapping and it’s putting his relationship with Josie in jeopardy. There’s a new family member in the Quinn-Fraley family and it’s adding to the strain. So much so that Josie is determined to cancel the vow renewal they had planned.
Every single person in this book has a secret. I was truly shocked by some of them, especially the big one at the end. Lisa Regan is so great at telling you a story that consumes your mind. I couldn’t wait to get back to find out what was happening next. .

Another great instalment in this series. I can’t believe this is book 23. It’s hard to find words that are different to previous reviews for Lisa Regans writing. Just if you haven’t started reading them and you enjoy a good thriller/police procedural then start!

solid 3.5 Stars– "The Couple’s Secret" is the 23rd installment in the Josie Quinn series, and I approached this book without any prior knowledge of the previous 22 entries. From the start, I was drawn into a captivating mystery that showcases Lisa Regan’s talent for building tension and suspense. However, as the story unfolded, I couldn’t shake the feeling of being an outsider at a lively gathering where everyone else was in on the jokes and backstory.
For readers who have followed Josie Quinn’s journey from the beginning, this book undoubtedly offers a wealth of familiar relationships, intricate backstories, and nuanced character dynamics. Regan has crafted a rich universe that rewards long-time fans. Unfortunately, as a newcomer, I often found myself scrambling to piece together details that would provide context for various emotional moments and references sprinkled throughout the narrative.
Josie Quinn is portrayed as a compelling protagonist, and the plot twists are cleverly executed, keeping the reader on their toes. Still, I sensed that the emotional depth of specific interactions and revelations would resonate more profoundly with those who have a deeper understanding of the characters' histories. While there were moments that felt poignant, I often felt their full impact eluded me due to my lack of familiarity with earlier developments. (That is a me problem, not the writing.)
For dedicated fans of the series, "The Couple’s Secret" will surely be a rewarding addition that continues to build upon established storylines and character arcs. As for my experience, while I appreciated the gripping narrative and Regan's engaging writing style, I initially felt like an outsider stepping into a world filled with warmth and familiarity. Nevertheless, I embraced the journey with determination and purpose, and I intend to read the series from the beginning to fully appreciate the relationships and history woven into the narrative.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own, and I was under no obligation to write a review.

Another amazing book in the Josie Quinn series. How is it book 23 already and each and every one are just excellent. Gripped from the first page I can’t read it quick enough. Plenty of drama and twists to keep the reader engaged. I can’t wait for the next book, hope i don’t have to wait too long! A brilliant author and series.

Imagine spending years wondering what happened to two people that you love who seemingly disappeared with no trace. Then imagine finding them dead with foul play suspected. Who could kill a couple that seemed to be so happy? A stranger? But why? Or could it be someone closer than you think?
Lisa Regan once again immerses us into the chaotic world of Josie Quinn. It's hard enough to hunt down a cold-blooded killer, but add learning how to be a first-time parent and to a teenager you don't even know leads Josie into a tumultuous headspin.
After all the Josie Quinn books, one would think you'd be used to Lisa Regan's writing ability to steal your mind and place it into Denton PA, yet it still amazes me. I'm an avid reader and always find myself excitedly anticipating the books written by Lisa, and The Couple's Secret did not disappoint! What I wouldn't give to live a day with Josie Quinn and her family and friends; that's assuming I'm not the victim! Thank you Lisa for making my life better one book at a time!

Lisa Regan does it again—delivering a gripping, emotional addition to the Josie Quinn series that proves she hasn’t lost momentum, even this many books in.
This story blends two layers beautifully: the cold case of Tobias Lachlan and Cora Stevens, whose brutal murders resurface after seven long years, and Josie’s own ongoing personal journey. As always, Regan seamlessly ties Josie’s dark past and struggles into the case at hand, giving the series both heart and continuity.
The mystery itself is intricate and layered. Between a vanished couple, secrets buried deep within a family, and another even older disappearance, there are multiple suspects and plenty of twists. I loved how nothing seemed to add up until that final breakthrough moment—it kept me questioning everyone and everything.
The writing is fast-paced and tense, but also deeply human, with the emotional stakes running high for both Josie and the victims’ families. That balance between crime-solving and character depth is what makes these books stand out.
A thoroughly satisfying, page-turning thriller. Fans of the series won’t be disappointed, and newcomers will quickly see why Lisa Regan’s Detective Josie Quinn has such a devoted following.

I loved the plot of this one. I enjoy the banter between Josie and her team, seems like Kyle is starting to fit in better. Haha just kidding, but I did enjoy getting some more snippets of his life. I can’t wait to find out his whole story.
As always, full of suspense and high emotions. Keeps you enthralled.
Many thanks to Lisa and Netgalley for the chance to read and review this one.

I love the Josie Quinn series. It’s immersive from beginning to end. Great backstory for keeping up with what’s going on in their lives. Plenty of suspense to keep you guessing and twisting and turning trying to find the culprit. Really looking forward to the next chapter in the series.

The last story in the series “Husband Missing” Book #22 ended in a bit of a cliffhanger.
Josie and Noah have been wanted to start a family and finally decided to adopt. They were in the final stages of the process when the agency pulled their application and said their lives were so dangerous they felt it would be difficult for Josie and Noah to keep the baby safe 24/7.
This story starts off with Josie establish a relationship as a new guardian of teenager Wren who has abandonment issues and the adjustment is very slow.
The cliffhanger mentioned they were also was dealing with Noah’s PTSD.
In the middle of all of this Josie and Noah are planning a “Marriage Vow Renewal’ ceremony so that friends may celebrate.
Although they have been married for five year their wedding day had been disrupted by a Homicide investigation which actually involved Josie’s beloved grandmother Lisette getting shot. Her dying request was that they get married by her bedside.
.
Josie also still has a full-t me job and her boss Denton, wants her to look into a new – ‘Cold Case’
Seven years ago, Cora and Tobias an engaged couple vanished on their way home from dinner, leaving three children to fend for themselves. Their disappearance remained an unsolved mystery until they are found murdered in a submerged car.
Don’t want to give it away as you will definitely want to ride this out yourself!

Very intense family drama. So many twists. Just when I thought I had it figured out everything changed. I never saw that ending coming! Great suspense story.

The couples secret was a quick, fast paste read that I could not put down. I could not figure out who and what was going on. What a fun ride .

For anyone who has been reading the Josie Quinn series from the beginning to the ones just finding this series, all I can say is that each book is somehow better than the last-which seems impossible! This book is absolutely fantastic! The story had me guessing the entire time - what an exhilarating story that kept me engrossed! You won’t want to miss this one!!

SO GOOD! Josie vulnerable .... the BEST!!! Loved this latest addition to the Josie Quinn series. Keep them coming Lisa Regan.
Thank you #netgalley and #bookouture for the eARC.

Holy smokes! This pulse pounding mystery begins a found vehicle that has been missing seven years. As Josie and Gretchen take on the investigation into the two victims-they run into more questions than answers. Meanwhile at home Josie and Noah are scrambling to navigate their emotions following Noah’s harrowing ordeal and the arrival of Wren. Regan is a master storyteller, keeping the reader guessing about the villain until the end. I definitely recommend this series and I’m looking forward to the next installment! Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity to read an early copy, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I am hooked again! The Couples Secret has a very interesting case that feels a little different than usual. It involves a lot of family secrets, old and new.
As a longtime fan of this series, what I love most about this book (and other recent ones) is that we get more and more about the personal life of Josie, Noah, Gretchen, and others! I started reading for the thrilling crimes and now I’m staying because I just can’t wait to read what’s going on in their lives. I love/hate Noah’s recent sassiness but was really glad to see him and Josie work through it.
As always, this is such a great series if you want some thrilling crimes and police investigative work. It’s not too gory but keeps you hooked from the beginning. It’s best if you start the series from the beginning as a lot of characters have back stories you’d miss if you read as a standalone book! Can’t wait for the next Josie Quinn book!!!

I’ve been following the Detective Josie Quinn series ever since the very first book came out back in 2018, and it is without doubt one of my favorite detective thriller series. I’m always looking forward to spend more time with its characters, so it’s a treat whenever a new sequel finds its way to my kindle. The Couple's Secret follows the same formula I’ve become used to with these books… Although thankfully this sequel in particular gives both the characters and us readers a little breather after everything that happened in the previous book, and the story doesn't hit as hard. This doesn't mean that The Couple's Secret is any less engaging though!
While technically you could read The Couple's Secret as a stand-alone, I personally wouldn’t recommend it. This series focuses a lot on the personal development of the main characters as well as the actual crime, and it’s best to read the series in order both for the character background and to avoid major spoilers. This sequel includes multiple spoilers for the previous book, so this makes reading the series in order even more important... I admit that the case itself is completely separate this time around though, so whatever floats your boat.
I loved meeting up with Josie Quinn and the rest of the characters again, as I was looking forward to see what happened next after the previous book. The fact that we so much of the private lives of the main characters really adds to the series, and there is plenty of focus on the new developments in Josie's life. Sure, I'm still actively disliking Turner and I wish we didn't have to deal with his antics, sexist comments, lack of teamwork and laziness over and over again. I admit he is better than in the previous books, but I just don't think this series needs this conflict when there is so much else going on. Thankfully he was once again a bit less present since he isn't exactly actively investigating the case in The Couple's Secret.
The case itself is intriguing, and a difficult one for the team as cold cases are never easy to investigate. The plot will offer you multiple suspects along the way, and while I did guess part of the truth, I never saw the full picture until it was finally revealed. The Lachlan/Stevens blended family has a lot to hide, that's for sure! It was interesting to watch Josie and the rest of the team trying to slowly unravel the cold case, and there were plenty of moments of suspense along the way. In short, if you are looking for an engaging, fast-paced and suspenseful detective thriller, I can highly recommend this series in general. Things can be said about the credibility, but the entertainment factor is high!

Detective Josie Quinn has a great deal of things happening in her life. Not the least of which is the sudden guardianship of her deceased friend's daughter. The girl is grieving the loss of her father and seems to like everyone else in Josie's world except her. When a car is discovered submerged in some water, a cold case falls into Josie's lap. The remains in the car belong to a couple who disappeared on a date night years ago. In the investigation, Josie and Noah, with their team, discover that the stepchildren in the deceased couple's marriage have some unusual dynamics, including the fact that two of them are now married. The investigation takes unexpected twists and turns, while Josie and Noah struggle to be good parents for a teenager. It's a great book with a surprise ending.

This is the latest in the Josie Quinn series and it's absolutely brilliant.
Can easily be read as a standalone if you haven't read the others in the series but you should try them all. I loved it.
