Thank you Titan Books and Netgalley for this eARC, these opinions are my own. Had me on the edge of my seat! Miles is on the search for Gabriel. What happened to him? Is he ok? On top of that Gabriel doesn’t know that his life is still in danger. They were so sure that Florence was the killer but who could it be? And what if Miles’ life is in more danger then he thought? Miles is going to have to dig deep into his family as well as the Hawthorne family’s past in order to save Gabriel and himself. But with no leads and no new information his he fighting a losing battle? After all it’s fate right? Camilla Raines sequel is dark, mysterious, and full of twists! I enjoyed the interactions of Miles, Gabriel, and all their friends including the new ones! I also loved that though there are dark things happening it’s still full of teenage angst and new relationships! Also got to love the complicated family dynamics! A thrilling and exciting end to this series!

The finale to Camillas haunting and queer duology did not disappoint. I was blessed to read the first book early as an e-arc so when I saw this finally listed I had to get my hands on it as soon as possible. Returning to the world of Miles and Gabriel we find them trying to break the curse that impacts their families before Gabriel takes on the darkness that faces his family. Armed with a grimoire retrieved in the last book, premonitions have our duo on edge fearful of potential outcomes and feelings complicate EVERYTHING.
From seances to psychics, summonings to spells the chaos of magic and the paranormal drives this book, with additional chaos in the form of high school shenanigans and navigating first loves and queer identity. This had not just amazing LGBTQIA+ representation from gay, gender non-conforming and more but also continued the amazing disability/mental health representation we saw in the first book presenting raw and real experiences like those many of us experience in our own lives. While the end wasn't what I expected i was happy with how this duology went and it will remain one of my favourite fantasys with queer representation.

Delightfully dark and cute at the same time!
The duology reaches its apex in The Forsaken and the Fated, as Miles and Gabriel face dead ends at every turn while the stakes increase even more: Gabriel has his own premonition and not dealing with it well.
The first part of the book teased heading towards a path I don't approve of (heavy on miscommunication and "I'm cutting you off to protect you") but it was just this, a tease. Miles and Gabriel are more on the same page than ever, they start lowering the barriers they got so used to raise to protect themselves and let people in (and each other of course), and the grim, emotionally exhausting journey has several moments of flushing red faces and cute moments to keep them going. Miles and Gabriel slowly learn to listen to each other apart from loving each other.
The Hawthorne family mystery is as dark as we believed to be and then some more, the meaning of loyalty to the family is twisted in a horrific way. The Warren family is not immune from the corruption either. The price of power is more terrifying than ever, and there is no easy way out of this.

Rating: 4.25/5 stars.
I was so thrilled to be approved for an eARC of this book, and I'm even happier after finishing.
I read the first book last fall, and was aching for the sequel. So glad to say it did not disappoint. How could it not when it's a story about witch boys in Washington with incredible supprting characters?
The Forsaken and the Fated plunged us right back into to the story, picking up the thread immediately where The Hollow and the Haunted left off. While the story and Miles pulled me back in immediately, it did suck to see our love interest back track so far into being a complete rude asshole after the sweet progress he made in the first book. Luckily, it didnt last too long, but it was still disappointing.
I loved traveling along this story with Miles and Gabriel. The ending was a bit convenient to have lasting impact or entertainment, but everything else was so enjoyable that it didn't dampen the experience for me much at all. Especially the interactions between characters. Emily is the BEST GIRL. Give her everything. I absolutely adore her. And the cousin relationship between Miles and Charliee was soooo good. Could not get enough of it. Other highlights were Mile's parents after they were brought into the loop of everything and seeing how much Gabriel cared for his younger brother.

Well, firstly, I'd recommend reading this sequel straight after the first book, since it follows directly on without any sort of nudges or recap. Having read The Hollow and the Haunted last year, I spent the first half of this book trying to remember who people were and what exactly the curse was.
I'd been really looking forward to this, but I didn't enjoy it as much as the first. It has a decent plot and lots of action, but it felt like all the interesting worldbuilding and suspense had already happened, and this didn't quite maintain the momentum. The central relationship, too, didn't have as far to go, so it was less compelling. The characters continue to be lovely, though, so it was still a pleasure to spend some more time with them.
