She back and solving another murder! I have no idea why I love Pomona the way I do but there’s just something about this character that makes me want to keep coming back for more! After reading this book I’m going to read/listen the first book again! I hope there’s another book after this because I can’t wait to see what trouble Pomona gets into next!

From the very first page, this book had me hooked and it never let go. Pomona Afton Can Totally Catch A Killer truly has it all: romance, comedy, mystery, and twists I didn’t see coming.

Pomona herself is smart, capable, and so much more layered than I expected. Honestly, I didn’t even want to like her at first… but I LOVED her. I also have to give a special shoutout to Gabe—his presence made the story even better. The chemistry, banter, and dynamic between the characters kept me smiling while still pulling me deeper into the mystery.

The tone blends rom-com charm with just enough intrigue to keep you on your toes. The pacing was spot-on, and while I enjoyed the whole book, the last 10% absolutely sealed the deal for me—it was so satisfying.

I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a read that truly has it all: romance, laughs, mystery, and a cast you can’t help but root for.

This was my first ARC from NetGalley and I was excited to get into this book. It was a quick read and was okay. I didn’t read the first book in this series and I feel like that might have helped understanding the characters in this book especially in the beginning. Overall, it was a cute book. I wasn’t super impressed with who the killer was at the end and how the murder was solved. I would have liked more suspense, but overall it was a quick read and I would recommend!

This is a sequel and we continue to see Pomona’s character evaluation as she solves another mystery. I liked the parts with her boyfriend the best!

"What, like it's hard?" Should be Pomona Afton's official mantra.

In this case, it's solving a murder.

I picked up the first book in this series a few months ago on a whim, and when I saw this ARC available on NetGalley I had to request it immediately!

Pomona is exactly what you'd expect from an incredibly spoiled heiress in New York City, with one exception. Last year her world was turned upside-down when her grandmother was murdered, cutting her off financially, forcing her to move in with her former nanny's son, Gabe. Together, they solved the crime <spoiler>(it was one of her besties)</spoiler> and fell in love as he taught her how to be a "normal" person.

Now they're back and she's starting over. With Gabe by her side, and her party days long behind her, she's created a nonprofit to help disadvantagd youth. On the night of her first major event, a fundraising gala, her largest donor gets murdered. Help!

Fiona and Gabe are back on the case, trying to figure out who done it while navigating the ups and downs of their own relationship(a).

A fun, quick read, and I would definitely recommend! Pomona is incredibly endearing, trying to discover who she is and proving everyone wrong. The NYC social scene for the elites sounds exhausting.

<spoiler>while the murderer is a bit predictable, I didn't fully see how it was going to play out the way they did. I'm also so glad she finally cut off her toxic AF parents. </spoiler>

I received thus eARC from Atria Books via NetGalley.

Pomona Afton does it again! I loved the character growth that Pomona and Vienna go through. We see Pomona caring about others, such as Gabe and Jessica. However it’s clear that it’s still a work in progress, which feels very natural. I wish we could’ve seen a little more of regular every day Pomona, but her antics were fun.

This cozy mystery was such a fun read, with Pomona’s hilarious inner monologue, quirky charm, and foodie adventures making me laugh. I enjoyed seeing her growth, though the mystery felt a bit rushed and not as strong as the first book. Still, her personality and humor made it an enjoyable escape, and I’d gladly return for more of her adventures.

Sooo, it turns out that this book was actually a sequel to the book 'Ponoma Afton Can So Solve a Murder' and I already was spoiled the murderer to that book before I even realized 🤷‍♀️. Totally my fault, but here's your warning to not be silly like me and to read the first book before this one if you're interested.

After catching her grandma's murderer, Ponoma Afton would like to finally earn her place in the world of philanthropy. The way to do that? Throw a successful gala for her nonprofit and prove to everyone that she's changed her ways and is no longer a "party girl". And it all goes perfectly until in the middle of the gala a dead body appears and all Ponoma's hard work goes up into flames. To try and save her reputation and nonprofit she must dive deeper into everyone's motives and alibis to solve the murder. She's done it before so how hard could it be?

LOVED✦ˑ ִֶ 𓂃⊹
• This book was so easy and fun to read! I’m not the kind of person who tries to solve the murder alongside the main character, so I was just along for the ride. The author's writing is very conversational and crisp, which made the ride smooth and enjoyable. I didn't feel like there were any chapters that were filler and were difficult to get through, thankfully.
• The characters actually act their age and communicate to each other throughout the book. Ponoma may be a bit snobby but she'll try hard for the ones that she loves. She has some character development as well which is so refreshing to read about especially with a character like her.
NOT QUITE LOVED✦ˑ ִֶ 𓂃⊹
• Some parts in the book felt a bit rushed to finish. The 'solving' part of the murder went very fast in my mind and I was honestly suprised at how Ponoma was able to figure out who the murderer was.

Overall, this book is one I would label as a potato chip book since it was a pretty quick and fun read. I would recommend this book if you're in the mood for a mystery book but make it fun.
Thank you so much Netgalley and Atria Books for accepting my request for an ARC in exchange for a honest review!

Bellamy Rose has crafted a little piece of sunshine with her hilarious and cozy Pomona Afton mystery series. This story stayed true to the character's growth, but kept that high society princess edge to her. Thoroughly enjoyed!

I had fun with this book! It was great to see how Pomona matured from the first book and was striving to keep that character development (although she does sort of slip into her old ways again). A nice cozy murder mystery that definitely made me laugh out loud. I'm hoping that we'll get more from Pomona and this world.

Loved this one just as much as the first! Pomona Afton has turned over a new leaf, but people still expect her to be the airhead heiress instead of the serious philanthropist she wants to be now. She’s hoping it will all change at the first gala she hosts, but then the guest of honor ends up impaled on a peacock statue and she’s back to investigating the murder. The trouble is, nobody likes the victim — everyone has a reason to want him dead. We get to know more of Pom’s friends and see her relationship with Gabe evolve towards engagement. We are treated to more foodie adventures in Queens. This time, I didn’t know exactly who the murderer would be, but the big reveal at the end laid out all the breadcrumbs I’d missed throughout the story in a perfectly delightful read. Really, really fun mystery with so many laugh-out-loud moments — I love Pomona Afton!

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC to review!

It was fun to return to the Pomona Afton character and see her in a new mystery. In my opinion, this was an okay follow-up to book one.

This still has the lovable but flawed Pomona but she's in a new setting and phase of her life. Her inner monologue is still hilarious and entertaining as heck. I think she's a great character to follow in a cozy mystery series.

The other side characters were entertaining too. I enjoyed the setting with the glamour and high society. It provided something different for a cozy mystery which was refreshing.

This let me down with the mystery, pacing and relationship drama. I felt the mystery just wasn't as good as the first book's. They way the mystery was solved was rushed and to be honest a little confusing. I also was not a fan of the relationship drama between Pom and Gabe. I felt there needed to be more buildup to the stuff happening.

Overall, this was okay. I would be interested in seeing what is in store for Pomona since her character is a lot of fun.

I’m going to be brutally honest, this was not enjoyable.

This book is relatively short, but wanting to come back to read this was like pulling teeth. In my opinion, it’s slow and Pomona is still a little too set in her old ways. You can see from her thought process, she might not act on everything, but it’s a little too much for me. I was hoping for more growth and for that to reflect in her actions; maybe even thoughts because some of those made me think “yikes”. She’s often still too wrapped up in her own thin that she doesn’t observe what’s around her.

I’m trying to understand why Pomona does what eps does and the choices she makes, but I can’t relate at all. She continues to have “friends” who clearly are horrible, she isn’t being supportive of her boyfriend and oblivious to all his needs, dismissing everything she witnesses with Vienna who seems to be the only real friend she has. Overall, as a character, I pretty much don’t support her. It’s like an acquaintance, where you wish them well, but other than that, you walk away.

I didn’t even care about the murder mystery because I didn’t care about the characters anymore.

This was so fun!! I love this series and need 10 more asap.

The death in this was less important or shocking than the first one but I loved the setting of the gala, and development of the main character.

Thank you netgalley and the publisher for an advanced reader copy. All opinions are my own.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest feedback. I was very excited to receive this ARC because I really enjoyed the first Pomona Afton book, which I found sweet and delightful.

This second book is similar to the first but is less charming. The fish out of water storyline and burgeoning romance are mostly missing from this second installment, and it is less enjoyable. There was a magic to the first book that the author tries to recapture but falls short. It was a quick cozy mystery but nothing special.

Loved the book! When I saw there was a sequel, I knew I had to sign up to get a copy of this ARC and it did not disappoint!

What I loved about the book is seeing the growth Pomona goes through as she tries to balance her old personal with the newfound maturity she developed in the first book. I also loved that we get to know Vienna more and her backstory as a character and her relationship with Pomona.

I would have loved to see more of Gabe as well as her brother and his fiancee but I understand that this more focused on her charity with little involvement from her family. I am excited for the book to come out next year and dying to get a physical copy for the first one to join my library

I really enjoyed Pomona Afton Can So Solve a Murder so was excited to be offered this arc. This time Pomona throws a gala and the body of a big donor ends up dead. I liked Pomona more in the first book and how she changed. She seemed to go back to her ways a little in this second book. She was more entitled and mean. I did like that it was still silly and had a decent mystery. But bring Pomona back from the first book.

This book, second in the series, has good bones but the artifice used to flesh out the story falls flat. The reader doesn’t need so many allusions to show that the FMC, the titular protagonist, is a Paris Hilton knockoff and her BFF is a wannabe Nicole Ritchie. The problem lies in trying to make us believe that she is a reformed airhead heiress; too much talking and not enough showing. Not having read the prior book, I’m also finding precious little in this one to help me understand or even believe in the romance between Pomona and her working class boyfriend, Gabe. She seems to always be pointing out ways that he doesn’t fit in her world (but should conform, in her opinion) and descriptions of him point out less salubrious conditions (e.g. “sweaty” or “huffing” after the exertion of carrying some luggage, etc.). The mystery of the murder is hidden under so many extraneous descriptions of Pomona’s distractions, surroundings and unlikeable secondary/tertiary characters, that reading became something of a chore.
Three stars because this is a descriptive and grammatical novel and will appeal to some folks, just not to me.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the free ARC. All opinions here are wholly my own.

Pomona Afton Can Totally Catch A Killer is the follow up to Pomona Afton Can So Solve A Murder. In this book Pomona is working to revamp herself and help those in need by launching her nonprofit. At her first gala surrounded by friends, family, and donors someone is murdered.

I like the feeling of being back in Pomona’s world! I think Bellamy did a great job of recapping book one in a sprinkled in kind of way and not shoe horned into the first chapters. The writing and feel are still the same as book 1 which was fantastic.

As the story continues I couldn’t help but think “Is Pomona going back to her hoity-toity ways?” I think her return to the money side of things has tainted most of the change she accomplished by the end of book 1. I liked who Pomona became but now I’m starting to feel like she’s slipping back to her old self. She seemed meaner, less considerate, and entitled, more so than where she ended in book 1. I am sad to say I actually ended up hating Pomona in this book. It was hard to root for her in any aspect as she seemed to not only revert back to her old privileged ways, but she just seemed worse.

Unfortunately I did not enjoy Pomona in this book, and I wish she had maintained her character growth. Overall the murder mystery itself was fun. The characters were interesting and the story was engaging.

I had enjoyed the first book Pomona Afton Can So Solve a Murder and was excited to read the next entry in that world. The characters were so well written and had that charm that I enjoyed from the first book and from Bellamy Rose's writing. It had that mystery element that I was looking for and enjoyed the overall feel of this. I was glad I got to read this and can't wait for more in this world and from Bellamy Rose.
