I loved the Captain Kit Brightling series but I did not love this one. I wanted to give it a shot, but I felt like it was a pretty standard romantasy that reiterated the same info and intrigue ad nauseum. It is categorized correctly in New Adult, although if you removed the two sex scenes it would've easily been a young adult fantasy. Didn't hold my interest, sadly.

LOVE! The cast of characters are wonderful! Fox, Wren, Nik, Galen were a joy to read. Like all of Neill's work, the story was completely engaging! The world building was just what I love...close enough to our world that I don't have to mentally try and picture some bizarre creature, but specific in the ways it differs from our world. Such a great start to another series I am sure I will love! Can't wait to read more!
