Will and Sloane have been dancing around each other at all of the Sweetbriar Ridge town festivals, where they connect at the kissing booth. When they finally get the chance to get to know each other properly, they're not surprised when they get along. But can things work out, especially with Sloane being based in another town? This was a predictable yet enjoyable story which I managed to listen to in pretty much one sitting. It was fabulous on audio.

Will Campbell has been chasing after his mysterious infatuation with a woman he encountered at the kissing booth for the past three years.

Sloane Donovan has enjoyed her kiss and run game. But things change when identities are revealed.

Can they become a forever couple?

I have only 1 book from this series and feel this could be read as a standalone. What I like about reading Chase's books are you know it will be a sweet small town romance with strong family ties.

This was not my favorite, the idea of an annual kiss at the kissing booth leaving such strong impression for 3 years just seems bizarre to me. 3 years later, they finally meet and figure out they were the mysterious kisser and their relationship went from 0-60 so quickly.

I wanted them to get to know each other and the reasoning for them moving quickly is because they have been waiting for 3 years just made zero sense.

Carly Robins did a good job with the narration and brought the boisterous Donovan family to life.

Thank you @brillanceaudio for of the audiobook.

This book is the sixth installment of the Sweetbriar Ridge series. It is a small-town romance that all started with a kissing booth.

Will Campbell and Sloane Donovon shared steamy kisses at the festival for three years, but she would always run away before he could so much as get her name from her. Will is determined to find this mystery woman, while Sloane has decided to give up her ritual of kissing and running.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and seeing the character development. Sloane went from running to finally deciding to settle down. Will challenges her defenses and helps her rewrite her story with him.

Some Tropes:
🎊 Opposites Attract
🎊 Hidden Identity
🎊 Small-Town Romance
🎊 Emotional Healing

The story of the Donovan's continues. Starting at a kissing booth two strangers find chemistry in the kisses alone, until one seeks the other out. Sloane tiring of the kiss and run game and the complete focus on a career she wants more. Sweetbriar is the back drop and the theme's beside love and romance is looking at your life and making decisions and chances. Sloane and Will have chemistry and the book is not as in depth as I would like it still is a success. Looking forward to another installment. Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity.

I adore Carly Robbins’ narration! When I need a romance audiobook palette cleanser, she is high on my list.

This is a light and cosy romance, a standalone, but book 6 in a small town series and I think will be most enjoyable for readers who have read the first 5. It definitely stood alone, it just has quite the cast of characters and updates that would no doubt feel more significant if you went in knowing their backstories.

This is low stakes and sweet, which mean the main conflict was very light. Perfect if you are looking for something gentle to read with a guaranteed HEA.

The spice is relatively closed door, which did feel a little jarring at times (the lead up would be on page and descriptive, but would cut away), which did make me wonder what audience this was aimed at (i.e. not fully closed door, not fully open door—so either reader preference isn’t quite met).

Tropes:
🩷Small Town Romance
🩶Hidden Identity
🩷Long-Distance Relationship
🩶Golden Retriever Hero
🩷Sassy Heroine
🩶Opposites Attract
🩷Close Proximity

I wanted to like this one more but Unfortunately for me I had a hard time. I I just didn't care for this story or characters and I couldn’t connect to it at all. I felt both characters were somewhat immature. There was a lot of back and forth whining and neither character seemed to be willing to give in for the other person.

I just struggled to make it through as well.

Quick Summary: A kissing bandit romance

My Review: Choosing You by Samantha Chase is book #6 in The Donovans: Sweetbriar Ridge series. The audiobook is scheduled for release on 7/29/25. It is categorized as "A small town, hidden identity, opposites attract, standalone romance."

About the Book: "They’ve been in an intimate relationship for three years. They’ve just never met."

In My Own Words: After years of engaging in a kiss and run situationship of sorts, a local good guy meets the woman of his dreams and pursues her with his whole heart.

About the Audiobook: This novel was narrated by Carly Robins. She always keeps things entertaining with her inflections and tones.

My Final Say: Any time I can read an installment about the Donovans, I know I am in for a good time. Will and Sloane's story did not disappoint. Seeing how they came together and how they chose to work through their specific issues proved to be enjoyable.

This was a simple, straightforward, lighthearted read. It was not heavy on conflict. It was knee deep in family matters and life choices action. All in all, it was an easy read.

Other: Readers who like small town romances between opposites should enjoy this story.

Will and Sloane have known each other for years because they keep kissing at the kissing booth at local fairs. Even though they have been kissing for 3 years, they know nothing about each other, even their names. Sloane comes into Sweetbriar ridge to see her sister and cousins and she decides to try to find her mysterious kissing booth guy. They run into each other and Will is determined to not let her get away this time.

Will and Sloane struggled with long distance but I loved seeing them work through their struggles together. I am a big fan of the Donovan series and loved seeing previous characters in this story as well. I did think a few parts were a little immature with the running away at the kissing booth, but overall, I really loved this sweet story. There is fade to black spice in this one and Will and Sloane do have great chemistry!
