This book was a bit salacious for my taste. The concept was very cute, and I enjoyed the main character, she reminded me a lot of Keely from Ted Lasso. The narrator did a nice job as well. The cover art is adorable and gives off those small town Nantucket vibes.

Ok, romance is not my go-to book but I have been trying to read other things outside of fantasy so went into this because it had a bookstore :)
I will say it starts out strong with the spice so I was a bit worried this would be a book solely focused on that with no plot but it definitely wasn’t.

I really loved following Jade’s journey to moving to a brand new place, making friends and really trying to find herself. I enjoyed seeing a strong woman, both in herself and sexuality, and taking on people who doubt her and wanting to prove herself.

Like I said; I would not call myself someone who likes romance books but I will say- I will be checking out this authors other books because I loved the writing, the characters, the development and just the way it all wound itself up to a perfect ending!

"Booked for the Summer" is a lighthearted romance set against the charm of a beachside store in Nantucket. The setting is cozy, fun, and makes for an easy seasonal read if you're in the mood for something sweet and escapist.

Overall, this is a pleasant read with a summery vibe and bookish charm, but it doesn't stand out in crowded romance genre. I do recommend it to readers looking for a quick feel-good beach read though!

I loved this sweet story! Girl moves to US (Nantucket) to fulfill lifelong dream of working in a bookstore. Meets hansome stranger, hits it off and then comes to find out he's her new boss who wants to close her bookstore! I think my favorite thing about this book was the cast of rich characters. They were all likable and I felt myself wanting to know all of them. I loved the dynamic between Jade and Liam. There was so much more to the story and writing because the author didnt take the constant miscommunicstion trope. Instead she had them talk to each other and even though they were at odds, they still found away to be together and work through it. This is my first book by Kathryn Freeman, but it wil not be my last.

I also want to mention the narrator, she was fantastic! Her ability to bring these characters to their own personalities and life was impeccable. How she so easily slipped in and out of accents and genders was excellent. It really made this audiobook exceptional.

Booked for the Summer is a cute quaint romance perfect for the summer. I enjoyed the quick wit and banter of the MCs, and the combo of enemies to lovers and boss employee plot. The audiobook has a great narrator that brings the British lead to life with quirk. While it’s overall pretty standard romance, there are some cute parts especially for book fans.

I appreciate the arc but sadly this book wasn’t for me. I didn’t love the narrator or the main character. And it felt more like lust at first sight.

I am a big fan of books set on Nantucket so this was right up my alley. There was plenty of spice and I really enjoyed Jade as the FMC. Liam was not my favorite at first, but he grew on me throughout the story. They had good banter and their chemistry was great.

Thank you to HarperAudio and Netgalley for this alc in exchange for an honest review.

Booked for the Summer by Kathryn Freeman is a fun summer romcom perfect for anyone looking for small town and billionaire romance all in one. The town was cozy and felt like home. The side characters were all so unique and deep. I loved getting to know them. The romance started too insta lust for my preferences but I genuinely adored the way the main characters got to know each other. I loved the genuine care, respect, and affection they built. There was some electric vhemistry between Jade and Liam for sure. And while there were some spicy scenes, and quite swoon worthy at that, I'm pleased it didn't seem like too big of a focus.

If a hallmark movie was in book form it would be this one. This was a very cutesy story to curl up and read.

Liam is your typical troubled rages to riches millionaire who has a chip on his shoulder about not fitting in. Jade is a clumsy blonde on an adventure to try to accomplish just one thing to prove she can do it to herself and her family. So when Liam buys the bookstore she's working in and tells her he's tearing it down she does what she can to prove to him that he should keep it open.

Loving the Nantucket vibes of many of Elin Hildebrand books I knew I needed a spicy romance to throw into the mix!
I thoroughly enjoyed this Audiobook, Mary Jane Wells is a fantastic narrator with a repertoire of voice to rival many. Always fun to start an audiobook only to realize I recognize and love the narrator!

Thank you NetGalley and HarperAudio for the arc

This would make a beautiful Hallmark movie. Liam was such a broody grumpy billionaire to meet Jade's sunshine book-loving cozy vibes. All signs point to a perfect opposites attract. I'd prefer more of a winter/holiday vibe than summer for a bookstore billionaire romance but thats just me. Curling up by a fire after a ski, reading a book together would be the best for this steamy couple!

Thank you for the ARC. This was a great easy read book. I really enjoyed the story and feel like I knew the characters quite well by the end. The side characters were super well written and felt like a necessary part of the story.

The only con is I wish it was either made more clear who’s POV we were in (eg with chapter headers) or a dual narration. It was hard at times to figure out who’s POV it was in until there was dialogue.

Unfortunately, not my favorite. Both main characters annoyed me throughout the book and I wasn’t really invested into the relationship. It did get a little better towards the end, but their issues could’ve been avoided with communication. Jade just seemed very immature. The setting of the story & the plot had potential. Just fell a little flat for me. I listened to this on audio, and wish there had been a male narrator to do Liam’s POV. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the voice the narrator did for Jades character, it made it hard for me to listen at times.

Thank you to NetGalley + HarperAudio Adult for the Arc!

This was just too cheesy for me, sorry! I couldn’t get into it at 15 percent and don’t wish to finish it. I prefer a slow burn.

The narrator wasn't for me. I enjoyed the concept. I will pick up for books by this author but probably not the narartor.

This was such a cute, fun, summer romance! Although I wasn’t completely immersed in the plot I really enjoyed the characters. Jade was very fun, quirky, and humorous. Liam was a grumpy MMC but I liked how their characters played on each other. I feel like Liam is very realistic - some men just have their guard up and let it down for certain people. I was granted the audio, and the narrator did an amazing job! Her voice, tone and accent were very pleasing. Overall it was a very cute read with lots of love, sweetness, spice, and heart.

What a cute book about a woman running from her past and takes a summer job on Nantucket to run a bookshop. She develops so many loving relationships with all of the people from her community. What she didn't realize is that she would have a one night stand with her boss. In what was a steamy scene she willingly participates even though it is out of character for her. The captivating story that happens next of two broken people who don't know how to speak their truth. The audio book was good and I loved the ending. A great book to wrap up my summer. Thank you #NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of the audiobook.

3.75⭐️ Very much opposites attract, grumpy sunshine. This has a good story of a woman trying to save a bookstore and the man trying to tear it down. Also, how friendship and love can bring out someone’s best that no one really saw before.

4⭐️ narration by Mary Jane Wells. I loved how both characters were portrayed. My only issue was the transitions from the characters dialogue and the side narration got a little muddled between the accents.

Jade has come to Nantucket for the opportunity to manage the local bookstore. She is so excited for a new start to prove she can be a strong, independent woman. The last thing she wants is to be distracted by a handsome stranger. His name is Liam and as it turns out, he’s the new owner of the bookstore and Jade’s new boss. Oh, and he’s closing the bookstore so he can grow his resort. Jade is determined to change his mind and not be swayed by his good looks.

Thank you to @netgalley, @harperaudio, and the author for the advanced listener copy.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the audiobook. This was a DNF. This book was just absolutely disgusting. Full of sex and bad language. I was looking forward to a cozy murder mystery and it ended up being disgusting. Not my kind of book. Do not recommend
