Thank you, Netgalley and Harper Audio Adult, for this audiobook review copy. There are, for me, pros and cons to this one. I was attracted to this book by the title and cover, which is quaint. I get that it is Harper Audio Adult, but based on the cover, I did not expect it to be so over the top graphic spicy. This might be right for some, but that's not my jam. This was way too spicy for me, and that seemed incongruous with the story, which was cute. I almost DNF, which I hate to do, so I stuck with it and tried to focus on the positives.
I loved the idea of Jade coming to Nantucket to work in a cute bookstore with the hope of taking it over. She discovers that the new boss, someone she has an encounter with before learning he had purchased the resort where the bookstore was located, wants to tank the bookstore, so she makes it her mission to convince him of the community importance of the bookstore. Lovely plot. I love the setting in Nantucket. Jade was cute and quirky, and the romance and dialogue with Liam had some entertaining parts, as did his evolution grom hard exterior to a softer, more likeable guy. Jeremy is a great character. The narration was well done, with accents that fit the characters and the images I had developed of them in my mind. Unfortunately, the over the top spice, heavily frontloaded, seemed to be forced to fit it in where it wasn't needed and too much too soon. It was distracting and detracted from what otherwise was a cute novel with a nice ending.

I thought this was cute and fun! It was my first dip into Kathryn Freeman books, but if they are as joyous to read as this one was, I'll definitely read/listen to more!
This one had such wonderful grumpy/ sunshine depictions and I loved how sweet and spicy it made the two mc's clash together. It was also the perfect setting if you are craving a summer romance.
I finished it in one day because I couldn't stop with "just one more chapter".

Booked for the Summer swept me away to Nantucket’s sunshine-drenched charm. I loved Jade’s passion for her little bookshop and the way she slowly unravels grumpy billionaire Liam’s icy walls. Their push-and-pull chemistry, beach-town vibes, and heartfelt community energy made this a sweet, feel-good summer romance that left me smiling by the end.

2.5ish!
Cover art: adorable
Premise: super fun, love a Nantucket beachy/book-centric read
Execution: mehhhhhhh
This was insta-lust that tried to turn into a cute love story but the characters lacked depth and connection. Stuck it out to the end and it ended up being kind of cute but I was just listening to listen and I felt like I was spacing out a bit throughout multiple points in this book.

Oh, this book had all the potential to be one of the best summers, but fell completely flat. The cover was great and the synopsis read like a perfect summer story. Unfortunately, from the first look the two main characters wanted each other physically and did not care about each other in any other way.
I wanted the MC’s to care about each other, have something in common, spend time together doing something other lusting for each other. The language and lack of story made me want to quit reading.
I have not read anything else by Kathryn Freeman. I wonder if all her books this way?

Booked For Summer by Katheryn Freeman , narrated by Maryjane Wells. I enjoyed this book. Both main characters dealing and overcoming issues in this sweet sensual, romance. Would make a great beach read. I enjoyed the audible. Thank you too #NetGalley and Harper-Collins for this Arc. This is my honest review.

i had such a fun time reading this book. the tension between jude and liam was so intense and just the perfect amount of back and forth. i laughed and cried and had all the feelings.

Thank you to #NetGalley and #HarperAudio for an advance listening copy of #BookedForTheSummer. An English woman looking for direction takes a temporary assignment managing a bookstore on Nantucket. 4 stars.

Booked for the Summer was a cute and spicy read. I like how the narrator did both the British accent for Jade and American accent for Liam. I liked Liam and Jade’s witty banter and how the story had a HEA from the enemies to lovers trope. Overall, this book was an enjoyable read for the Summer. Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Audio, and Kathryn Freeman for the opportunity to read and listen to this book. Happy Reading 😉

Thank you to NetGalley, Kathryn Freeman, and Harper Audio for this eALC! This book was so enjoyable all around-the FMC and MMC, the supporting friends and family and townspeople, the setting! It all worked so well together to make this a lovely summer romance.
I REALLY enjoyed the narrator! She is excellent at reading as a risky narrator, thoughts of each, and dialogue by changing her voice, tone, and accent with such ease. I was amazed! So emotive and perfect pacing, I couldn’t stop listening because she made this book even better!
Jade is the most endearing FMC I’ve ever read! Her British banter and rambling, and her big heart and kindness really made me cheer for her throughout the book. I loved how she couldn’t hold any thoughts in, her silly phrases and how witty she is without even trying. It’s so understandable why Liam was so easily intrigued and lustful for her, and how easy he can talk and open up to her. She’s just as good of a dirty talker too and liked how she made sure to express how good he makes her feel. Their chemistry is incredibly passionate and steamy, and made their emotional connection even stronger 🫠
I enjoyed how they actually mirror each other, despite their geographical, societal, family, and economic differences. They both want to prove themselves while also wanting to care for those that matter most to them.
While I understand the reasons for both of them to have their guards up and for so long not being able to truly be vulnerable in their feelings for each other, it did extend this conflict longer than it should have. And it made their HEA very that much more satisfying and I loved their compassion for one another. 🥰

a few chapters into this book, i thought i would never finish it. it felt like a trashy romance, so much, so fast. but it did get a little more depth as it went on and ended up being a cute love story. the narrators were good.
thank you #netgalley and #harperaudio for the alc.

This was a cute, steamy read. A woman travels for a 3 month sabbatical and finds new friends and a new passion. theres just enough bumps & drama to keep me interested without it seeming too over the top.

Fun, Cute, and Charming Once It Hits Its Stride
I’ll be honest, what first caught my eye was the cover. I absolutely loved it, and that’s exactly what made me want to request this book on NetGalley.
The beginning, however, felt a bit rushed to me. I’m not sure how else to put it, things just seemed to move quickly before I could really settle into the story. I think if there had been a little more tension, playful back and forth, or a “hard to get” dynamic between the two main characters, it would have drawn me in more at the start. But as the book went on, the characters started to come to life and the depth of their personalities began to unfold. Once that happened, I really got into it and found myself enjoying the journey.
By the end, it turned into such a fun and cute read. I’m torn between a 3 and a 4, so I’m settling at 3.5 stars. Still, kudos to Kathryn Freeman, this was an adorable, feel good story that I’m glad I read it.

I really enjoyed the premise and plot of this book. A summer romance in the quaint Nantucket setting written very vividly I felt like I was there when I closed my eyes. I enjoyed the banter and chemistry between the main characters. However I do wish it was a full cast instead of a single reader. While they did an ok job of narrating the multiple characters I just felt it was lacking. The audio readers voice also sounded too old for the younger characters. Overall I thought it was a good light listen for a summer read.

Spice 3/5 🌶️
Insta lust. Book lover. Grumpy billionaire.
Dual POV.
I found the MMC, Liam to be very traumatized. As we find out more about his childhood we can see why he is so closed off and broody.
I liked Jade’s character a lot I found her to be very quirky and funny.
This book took off immediately with the spice. No slow burn or tension just straight into it.
Jade is a curvy blonde who is often lusted after because of her looks. She has moved to Nantucket to start fresh and work at a bookstore but on her first day she stumbles upon a rich billionaire on a yacht. Liam Haven is insanely gorgeous but also happens to own the resort and bookstore she now works at. Talk about complicated.
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins/One More Chapter for the ACL in exchange for an honest review

I wanted to like this book so bad, however it didn’t do it for me. It seemed to be written for YA, going all over the place. Cute story and idea, just executed wrong

Oh gosh, where do I even begin? I loved this wholesome and sweet book sooooo much! This was everything I was looking for in a contemporary book right now and I I enjoyed the entire ride. The audiobook narrator did an amazing job at making you fall in love with the sassy and authentically herself Jade. Liam was also the brooding and misunderstood MMC who had SEVERE abandonment issues. I see a lot of people saying they weren't a fan of how conflicted he was in this book but honestly, if every person that is literally programmed to love you leaves you on the side of road like a piece of trash, how else do you expect him to be? As readers, I feel like we sometimes look at characters in book expected them to be perfect and make all the right moves but I love when an author writes a character that is authentically human. You also have to keep in mind that this storyline is in a three-month time span. He has to work through a lot of deep-rooted trauma and realize he loves her in a VERY short timeframe. I am super PRO Liam and am so sad to see all the hate he is getting.
I say, read this book and fall in love with sassy Jade and sweet, broken Liam just like I did. #justiceforliam

The synopsis of this book was everything! Who doesn’t want to read about a charming bookshop on a beach in Nantucket where sunshine meets grumpy. That being said, this book fell a little flat for me. While I loved aspects of it (the shop, the setting, the way they try to save said shop), there were things that really rubbed me the wrong way. The constant mentions of how aroused they both were really took me out of the moment. The littlest thing and that man was fully erect for her. It was a bit too much spice from chapter one. The spicy scenes themselves were well handled though. I also did not care for the constant reminders of how our main character looked and that she looked like walking sex, we got it after the introductions, it really felt like too much after the 5th or 5th mention of the globes (over used to describe both breast and butts) of her breast strained against her dress.
Overall I think this story had a lot of potential but the spicy ruined it for me. It felt tasteless at times and did not meld with the plot well.

Booked For The Summer Honest ARC Review:

Coastal Romance set on Nantucket is sure to please fans of Emily Henry, Lucy Score and Meghan Quinn.
This was a PERFECT beach read!! Developer and small town bookshop manager trope is simply adorable! Extra .5 given for accurate description of Cape and Islands.
A story where a woman moves to Nantucket, accepting a position as a bookshop manager. She accidentally landed on the yacht of a billionaire developer who was in the process of buying up shops on the waterfront.
Characters were complex and relatable. Side characters were hilarious and charming.
I adore this story and believe you will as well!! This is definitely a great beach read.
Thank you Net Galley and Harper Audio for sharing this ARC with me.

Thank you NetGalley and HarperAudio Adult for allowing me to listen and review this book! I loved the description of this book and the cover (I mean how cute and Nantucket…who doesn’t want to read or listen to a book based on such a beautiful place?!) the thing that really made me not like parts of this book was way people treatment Liam since a child all the way to an adult….like your all fine with old money doing exactly what Liam is but not Liam because it’s new money or because it’s him?! That’s bully behavior by an entire group of people. Liam had demons and a past that he needed to get through and break down walls that. We’re built because of this town and the kids from his past and even his own parents! Jade had her own demons and really in the end they were able to work through their demons together and continue trying to work through them in the future. Overall I enjoyed this book but there were parts that I didn’t even want to listen to…. 3.5/5 stars and the narrating was great as well!!
