This was too spicy for me. I’m sure some will love it but I based my desire to read it on the cover not thinking I would be such a spicy romance. I DNF it.

Thank you kindly to NetGalley, HarperAudio and Kathryn Freeman for sending me this ARC audiobook in exchange for an honest review. This was a lovely summer audiobook to listen to while at the beach. I enjoyed the story that unfolded between Jade and Liam. I loved the chemistry and witty banter between them and found myself laughing countless times while listening to this book!!

15 minutes in and the FMC was head over heels.
The concept had real potential, but the execution just didn’t land for me. Things moved far too quickly, making it hard to connect with the characters or believe in their story.

This book….it was a super fun idea. I love books about books and bookstores.
This one though, was not it.
It felt like jade was kind of rushing into things with Liam, but also nothing was happening during the plot…
Liam was kind of unstable…he had past trauma, but still, he was a jerk. Why did she like him, except he was rich and his 🍆?

I loved this story. The messy FMC who loves books but sucks at love runs into the beautiful, cranky (almost) billionaire MMC. He buys the bookstore she works for and doesn’t realize until after the deal is done, she tries to save the bookstore and make the small town fall in love with him while she does. It was fun, cute, adorable, just all the adjectives. There was plenty of spice that was woven into the story perfectly and the grand gesture was so swoon-y.
The narrator did a great job and while there were a couple of moments at the beginning of the book when she was voice acting for the grandma that the voice acting was weird/inconsistent she recovered well and the story ended up being well read and enjoyable.

Format: Audiobook
Booked for the Summer is a light and charming story that made for an easy listen. I enjoyed the overall plot and the chemistry between the characters. It had a fun summer vibe with a bit of emotional depth tucked in, which kept me interested. The audiobook narration was well done and brought the story to life in a nice, engaging way.

While I liked the story and the audio, some parts felt a little slow or predictable, which kept it from being a standout read for me. Still, it’s a solid listen if you're looking for a summery romance with heart.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to listen early!

This is a cute enough romance. The MMC is an emotionally detached millionaire, while the FMC is outgoing and broke. It is what it is, nothing special, but a "good enough" romance. If you want a good pallet cleanser, it will do nicely. I did like the addition of the bookstore as part of the backdrop.

The narrators did a great job. The English accent made a good addition.

Thank you Harper Audio Adult and Netgalley for allowing me to listen to this ALC.

This was a spicy, one night stand turned enemies to lovers, dual POV summer romance between a book loving Brit looking for an escape and the billionaire determined to close the Nantucket bookstore she’s come to work in.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this one by a new to me author! I went in with low expectations and was captivated by the great banter and relatable characters.

Good on audio and recommended for fans of books like Book lovers by Emily Henry or Beach rivals by Georgie Tilney. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review.
