Thank you HarperAudio Children’s, Clarion Books, and NetGalley for the advanced electronic audio review copy of this book. This is a wonderful book for elementary school children about keeping secrets as well as an importance of honesty. It is a great conversation starter for the beginning of the school year.

A good analogy for the guilt that weighs on your conscience when you do something you know is wrong. Young listeners will relate, and recognize why the gray area of finding a treasure and wanting to keep it can feel both "right" and "wrong" at the same time. I listened to this audiobook eARC with my sons, in 1st and 2nd grade, and they enjoyed the imagery of a secret masquerading as a dragon. It took some additional scaffolding to help them realize this was a book about our conscience and how to make the right choice with the help of a grownup, but would be great for teaching about feelings, and making wise choices.
