I love choose your adventure books, and this is a great one. The characters are ADORABLE and will definitely appeal to children. The adventures they go on together are fun and the choices are very relatable. It was a bit hard to follow with the digital format but I still very much loved it!

I love the fact that this was a you choose book. They are one of my favorite type of books. I loved the relationship the characters had. I loved that it had multiple endings and you got to go through the good and bad with the characters. It's such a cute and meaningful book.

This book is amazing. This really brought back a lot of memories with the choose your own adventure books that I read as a child. What really made this fun is that I was able to read this to my daughter and then turn around and read it with my son and have two completely different stories and experiences. The stories themselves are well done and full of real-life lessons told in ways that younger readers can understand. The illustrations are gorgeous and so much fun. All around this is a really neat and fun book!

This book was SO FUN! It has different stories about the relationships between Dragon and Unicorn, like sleepovers and playtime at the park. In each story, readers choose how Dragon and Unicorn respond in conflict. It teaches empathy, sharing, caring, and other important lessons. My favourite aspect of this book is its focus on talking about feelings. When Unicorn feels hurt by Dragon (or vice versa), Unicorn tells Dragon why she feels hurt, and they have a conversation about how to not hurt each other in the future. This book does an excellent job of teaching children how to interact with one another in friendly ways, even in times of conflict.
Not to mention that the artwork is fantastic!
I highly recommend this book for early readers and anyone (even adults!) who could use a lesson on expressing feelings.
Thank you to Kids Can Press for this ARC!

I read this book with my daughter, who is 4 years old.
What we loved:
We really enjoyed this book's illustrations. The pictures looked soft and sweet, almost as if they and been done in water colour. As a parent, I also appreciated the difference in aesthetics between Dragon and Unicorn - it shows that even people who are very different can be friends. My daughter was OBSESSED with the choose your own adventure aspect. I am sure that we will continue to go through it as the days go on, choosing different options for our friends. I also enjoyed the fact that it could be read all at once, or more in the style of a "chapter book," reading one section at a time. Also, the author made a point of showing the consequences of negative actions (ex. when Uni broke Griff's toy). The messaging was positive and well-received by myself and my daughter.
What could have been improved:
I struggle with speech bubbles in kids books, especially read-alouds, because I feel like my arm is always blocking part of the picture as I point to "who is talking" to ensure my daughter is following.
Final thoughts:
I liked this book and think that any kid would get great use out of it, especially because there is a huge variety of stories that can be told using the choose your own adventure style. I wish the text had been traditional (ex. "Let's do xyz," said Dragon), but understand that is a preference point and that the bubbles are more fun and easy to follow for emerging readers, a place my daughter is not yet at.
Thank you for letting us read this book!

Didn't know it was a choose your own adventure type of narrative at first but I loved it. Other then its a sweet narrative of friendship, the illustration style really feels like it's a fairytale.

Dragon vs. Unicorn. Super cute book about two total opposites who are besties.
Choose your own adventure! Such a fun book with a good story that allows you to choose the outcome and teaches kids what happens if you do or don’t take a certain path. Unicorn and Dragon are two opposite personalities but that’s what makes their friendship special and allows them to learn from each other and become better friends. In the story they take the time to listen and how to share and compromise.
I did do both paths for each storyline and enjoyed the perspectives and outcomes of each story. This is a great book for anyone, the artwork is cute and the millennial in me absolutely loved the Choose You Own Adventure aspect.

I liked that the story like a game where you can pick alternative routes to see what happens in the story. It's a cute story for kids to learn about sharing and letting their voices be heard. The art was cute.

I really enjoyed this story between Dragon and Unicorn with choosing how I want to read the story. Dragon and Unicorn have different options on what to choose with picking an option to avoid conflict or go with your own option in the story. Having the reader being able to choose their own way to read the story shows the reader the choices they could pick and the consequences that will happen to the characters in the story. This story can help younger readers process their own actions in situations that they can be put in. This brought me back to being an upper elementary girl again. My daughter also enjoys choosing your own adventure books and I can see her reading this book multiple times to get all the endings. I would recommend this book to any parent to introduce choose your own adventure books since they are so fun to have control over the story you are reading. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an e-arc copy in exchange for an honest review.

An interactive graphic novel that reminded me of my childhood, with cute, colorful drawings and heartwarming morals for children!
I wanted to try out all the options, it was really fun.

Thank you NetGalley and the author(s)/illustrator(s) for allowing me to read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I requested this book to read and review with my toddlers, who are working on a 1,000 unique book before kindergarten challenge. My 4-year-olds were too young for this one, but they are obsessed with both dragons and unicorns and LOVED the art, especially since they recently saw cartoon unicorn toys at the store (I forget the brand but it was similar to this art style!). While they couldn't sit or understand the super cool choose-your-own adventure component of it, it was fun to flip through with them and summarize what was happening. I really like the layout and flow, it reminds me of books I read when I was younger! I thought it was a lost art. The theme of dealing with feelings is really helpful for these younger children as well, as more and more of my students become reliant on technology for literally everything, we see in the classroom that many have difficulty regulating after excess screen time. This is a fun reflective book that would fit in well in a teacher classroom or home library.
Thank you allowing me to read and review your work.

This is such a fun book! This book is a choose your story interactive adventure, where you turn the page for one plot or go ahead to a specific page to choose a different plot. I found that very fun and interesting. The illustrations are adorable. Dragon and Unicorn are too cute. This book shows empathy, compassion, friendship, and dealing with big feelings.

This was a fun and new story with creative progress and a catching layout. My kids will LOVE this! I can’t wait to add it to our shelf at home!

cute book showing differences in ideas between friends, learning to compromise, giving feedback and sharing emotions. Cute illustrations. Fun book that allows you to move throughout the story based on the outcome you want to hear about.

This is such a fun kids book. I love the ‘choose your own adventure’ while reading about big feelings and how to be kind too. Can’t wait to have my son read it when he’s older. I just wish they could have made griffin happy at the end.
