Thank you NetGalley and Barroux for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I requested this book to read and review with my toddlers, who are working on a 1,000 unique book before kindergarten challenge. This was PERFECT for their age range, with simple and beautiful illustrations and an underlying meaning they were able to understand and relate to. While sometimes, we may seek more and more, we often forget that the very things we have NOW are the ones that were once our goals. A great message to teach littles, be happy in the moment. This is definitely one I would recommend to those with littles.
Thank you for allowing me to review your work.

The illustrations are simple yet perfectly detailed, pairing wonderfully with the story. It gave me classic If You Give a Mouse a Cookie vibes. The dialogue between the Cow and the Pig is spot-on—funny, curious, and it drives the plot forward in a really natural way.
I loved that it all circles back into a “what if” scenario with a sweet message: Cow is already rich because they’re content. The moment when Cow invites Pig to sit and enjoy life brings the lesson home. Wholesome, clever, and so well done. Just loved it!
Newphews (4 and 7) both enjoyed the book as well, the older one was able to read and sound out the majority of the words in the book.

I've read similar books to this. Why work hard to get rich then retire, when you're already living the retired life. Interesting take on the story by using a pig and cow. But the type seemed small and the illustrations didn't hold my interest. Sorry.

I Thank you for the ARC. This books watercolor drawings were unique although could’ve been a bit more vibrant. It was a cute story. My son loves animals, especially pigs. It had a great learning lesson behind the story. My son is too young to understand but in the future, it would be a good teaching story.

I really enjoyed the watercolor illustrations, they were simple yet eye-catching with an emphasis on the red apples. The story line was easy to follow and original. I think it would be an acceptable read starting at older preschool (ages 3.5/4+). It is a book I'd be interested in adding to my children's book collection.

I am yet to find a book by Barroux that I haven't loved. His illustrations are stunning and his stories always make you think.
In this one, Cow is sitting happily under her apple tree watching the clouds, when Pig suggests that she could sell her apples. Pig goes on to explain how this would quickly make Cow rich and famous. Then she could sell her factories and apple products and buy an island...where she could sit under a tree and watch the clouds.
This is a lovely story about being happy with what you have and thinking about why you would do something before you do it. Pig's end goal for Cow is pretty much what Cow is already doing and Cow encourages Pig to share this with her.
Lovely book.
