This book was a dark and twisty in the best way. It started off kinda slow and the beginning of the book felt a little repetitive in the way that the FMC was solely focused on getting custody. Her constant internal and voiced thoughts that were only about that got to be a bit much. Then, there was the struggle of trying to choose between 2 men who were completely different. Her interactions with them both felt real and you could feel her struggle. (She really expressed that struggle repeatedly as well.)After reading about 60% of this book I couldn’t help but wonder when we would get to the “who did it” part of this book. Once that part came it was a wild ride and the twists kept coming. I enjoyed the end of the book much more than the beginning . Overall, it was a good, fast, enjoyable read. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4

Thank you Netgalley and Victory Editing Netgalley Co-op for an ARC of this book!
I liked the concept of this. I love a good possessive/obsessive, cat & mouse, woman unaware she's involved with a nuttcase vibe. But unfortunately that's pretty much where the bus stops. This got rather repetitive. And the hypocrisy of the FMC was just too much for me. I was going to go 1 star with this one, however I really did like the twist at the end but there again, it contradicts the whole "wanting to be a good mom" thing. I feel maybe the characters age has something to do with it. In my useless opinion, the FMC's character doesn't really fit with someone being 21. I understand why at first, thinking to go younger. Because when you're young you just want to live and that can get you in some sticky situations. But this just seemed like the situation would fit an older woman better. Maybe a mom getting out of a long and abusive marriage? Because she would still have that low self esteem, like a lot of younger women do (especially ex models after having a baby). Just seemed to be a little too big of a pickle for a 21 year old to be getting into. Again, just my useless opinion.

It was a bit repetitive, especially the chapters told from Austin's POV. She didn't strike me as the brightest crayon in the box. I felt the description wasn't entirely accurate. I think the author was going for an unreliable narrative style of storytelling but it didn't seem true to the characters-- I.e., why would they pretend in their narration to not know the things they did?

Wow!! That is not how I saw this story ending. Austin is tough and goes through a lot to protect her daughter. Nico will do anything to protect Austin and her daughter. Before you read this please be sure to read the trigger warnings. This is my 1st book by Alyssa Milani and it won't be my last.

I had the privilege of getting an early copy of this book and really enjoyed it.
Single mom Austin used to be a successful supermodel, but after a short term boyfriend got her pregnant, he changed, leaving her penniless and fighting for custody of they daughter. Wanting to focus all her attention on keeping her daughter, she doesn’t have any time or interest in relationships.
Austin meets mysterious bad boy Nico, with whom she develops a quick bond, meeting for lunch and constantly talking and texting, and despite her best efforts, she finds herself falling fast.
Meanwhile, Mac, a lawyer, swears that he will help her keep her daughter, and that once they do they can live as a family. Austin can see herself offering this life to her daughter, but can she trust her feelings?
When the police show up at her door after finding a body, Austin has questions she can’t answer, and doesn’t know who she can trust. But one thing is clear, someone did it.
This story definitely keeps you on your toes, trying to uncover everyone’s secrets and wondering what really happened, and make sure you stay tuned until the end cause holy twist.

Who Did It? By Alyssa Milani is a very dark romantic suspense.
Single mum Austin is fighting her ex for custody, he’s taken her for everything and she’s hanging on by a thread.
One night in a bar she meets two very different men who completely change her life.
When her ex’s body turns up the finger points firmly at someone, one of them is lying, they all have secrets, but who is the killer?
I was not expecting this book at all. I didn’t know much about it and I’m glad I went in blind as it made the ‘who done it’ storyline even better.
I don’t want to give too much away but if you like morally grey men, love triangles, some pretty graphic scenes and a mystery to your romance then I’d recommend this book.
As with all books, check your trigger/content warnings as this has some fairly graphic/gory scenes and things mentioned throughout the book.

If your favorite tropes are age gap, love triangle and whodunnit, then add this to your list!
This story was breathtaking. Austin ends up in a love triangle when two men are interested in her. Who will she choose? The lawyer with whom she sees safety and a future with? Or the guy who has a cleaning company who screams trouble? No matter who you are rooting for, there is a HEA, but is it with the one you were hoping for? Oh and there is also a murder and the killer is on the loose… Could it be this serial killer that has a kink for cannibalism? Get this book and read it to find out!

There were definitely parts where I felt like there was so much potential and I was enjoying the characters but by the end it all just felt rather meh to me. We meet Austin or FMC while she is struggling to fight her awful ex Michael for custody of their daughter Luna. Austin is a young mom and ex-model, Michael is 14 years older than her and a photographer she worked with who adored her until she got pregnant and then was verbally abusive. She goes out with her bestie Sofie (who turns out to be trash) and two men fall for her-Nico & Mac. Nico is the tattooed bad boy with ties to the mob and a reputation for cleaning up for them. Mac is the straitlaced good boy lawyer who is going to help her win custody of her daughter pro-bono. She ends up with feelings for both men who quickly become obsessed with her and a love triangle develops. Michael goes missing letting Austin get full custody by default. Mac warns Austin off Nico and tells her he is The Cleaner & killed his mother and other folks who all ended up with chunks of flesh missing from their bodies. Michael ends up being found in the river dead & Austin suspects it was Nico. Turns out the truth of who killed him is buried under many lies and secrets. It all just felt very convoluted and messy in a way that didn’t make the reveal all that surprising or fun in my opinion. It fell flat for me by the ending. It also took about 60-65% of the book for her to go back and forth on what to do and if she give in to liking either man before any real plot movement happened. Some great ideas and character arcs and flaws but the execution just didn’t hit for me.

This book had me hooked from the start. I was back and forth over the two MMC's as much as the FMC was. One was exciting, dark and morally forbidden fruit and the other was the classically handsome, idealistic choice. The decisions were slow burning and I wondered how these two were eventually going to collide, I had my theories... but in the words of The Fresh Prince, my life was flip-turned upside down because WHAT! A connection I had most definitely not envisioned, was then doubled down on by another twist I hadn't seen coming. And then the ending I had to read twice because what just happened there?!
If you're into romance, dark romance, thrillers, hell reading in general, I would definitely recommend bingeing this book!
Thank you to Alyssa Milani and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the advanced read.

This book had me hooked from the first chapter! I was definitely in my feels over Austin's situation. But what are the chances of meeting TWO hot potentials in one night? Nico and Mac are on complete opposite sides of the scale, one being a criminal and the other a lawyer. And both willing and able to help resolve Austin's problem. But of course, nothing is as it seems with those two! And in the end, with Austin too! So SO good! Love the characters, love the plot, love the twists! They were mind-blowing to say the least! Will definitely be reading more of her books!

ARC REVIEW: This book was much more than I expected. This dark romance pulled me in from the very first page and refused to let go. The story was packed with unexpected twists and turns that kept me constantly guessing, and every time I thought I had it figured out, the author surprised me again. The emotions were so vivid and raw that I felt every heartbreak, every moment of tension, and every spark between the characters. It was enticing and immersive, with so many possible directions the plot could take—yet the ending still managed to deliver a final twist that completely blew me away. An unforgettable read. Would definitely recommend!

WHO DID IT?!!
No seriously 😱 I absolutely loved this romantic thriller 🔪
If you love an age gap, single mom, love triangle romance, you will want to pick up Who Did It.
Austin is a single mom whose is trying to gain full custody of her daughter and isn’t looking for a relationship. On the same night she meets Nico and Mac, two guys who couldn’t be more opposite. I loved how each guy offers Austin different types of support and understands her needs. And don’t get me started on the ending 😳 You will have to read to find out!!
Thank you Alyssa Milani and NetGalley for an e-arc!

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 (rounded up)
For the first half of this book, it felt like I was reading a sweet romance about a single mom who inadvertently started dating two different guys without actually dating them. It was adorable how Austin would meet up with Nico on her breaks from work and FaceTime him every night, and how she and Mac accidentally started acting like a family with her little girl.
It wasn’t until the second half of the book that the dark parts of the book ramped up. It didn’t even seem like a mystery or thriller at first, but believe me, it gets there. You’ll end up thinking you know what happens, but you absolutely do not. At least, I didn’t! The last 15-20% of the book was not what I expected in the least, and unfortunately, not in a good way. I was really loving the story up until then, and the ending itself dropped my rating a full star. However, this is a personal opinion and the ending could resonate very well with other readers.
My biggest issues with this book (besides my feelings about the ending) were the spelling and grammar errors. They were plentiful, and they included character names, so I never knew which was the correct spelling. Not really that important in the grand scheme of things, but I do prefer consistency. Given that I was reading an ARC, I hope that these errors will be remedied prior to publishing.
“Maybe it's the wine talking but there it is again. This urge to ravish him. A longing I never knew existed. Tonight, I won't hold back. Tonight, I'll let this beast ravish me.”
“This guy who's claiming me as his girl might be a serial killer. A cannibalistic serial killer to boot. One that I slept with and want to continue sleeping with. One that I gave my heart to. God-f**king-dammit.”
“Why would someone kill Michael knowing he has a baby? Who did this?”
Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for the early copy of this book! Receiving a free advanced copy of this book did not influence my opinions or the content of my review.

Single mom meets killer. Feelings ensue that neither wants, but can’t deny.
The premise of this book was right up my alley; I devour stuff like this. The first chapter didn’t disappoint. It hooked me, it had its claws into me in the same way that Nico eventually gets his claws into our sweet Austin. We’re thrust straight into the mind of Nico, and it’s dark; we know straight away that he’s someone we need to watch, to be aware of. Nico had been intrigued right from the get-go.
Then comes along our sweet Austin, newly single, with a typical story: baby dad is a jerk, who baulked at the first sign of commitment. She’s lost her job as a model and is barely making ends meet because baby daddy is trying to take her for everything she is.
The gradual story that evolves around Nico and Austin is cute; it is, in many ways, a beautiful love story. Just this slow, gradual thing that happens without them realising, at least when it comes to Austin. Nico is hook, line and sinker for her. Obsessed, she quiets the demons. Austin is drawn to him, to his dark aura, and the opposite off everything she would usually find herself with.
Poor Austin is having a shit ol’ time as well, between the ex being your typical jerk, and suddenly finding herself drawn to two men. Our killer, Nico, and Mac, the lawyer who wants her, despite her refusals. She’s torn between two men and trying to make sure her ex doesn’t take her daughter.
Then her ex turns up dead, and this game for her heart suddenly becomes dangerous. She no longer knows who to trust. Even when her heart is yelling at her, the truth will eventually change everything, and not just for Austin, but for the men who are intent on winning her heart.
I liked the story, I didn’t love it, it wasn’t without its faults. It lacked humanity, and i didn’t overly believe Austin’s convictions. She accepts Nico and his past without a murmur, and yet when she’s told he’s a killer, there’s suddenly a problem. The same can be said with how accepting she is of Mac despite her admitting he reminds her of her ex. Why she would want that for her daughter, i’ll never know. There was also a lot of repetition, and it seemed to slow down a lot towards the middle of the book.
I also very much adore every twist and turn in stories that I don’t see coming. I eat that stuff up because too many stories are predictable. This one thought threw me for a loop. Not only did I not see it coming, it just felt so left field to me. Twists usually come with a trail of hints, and this left me feeling blindsided. I did predict one twist, but i feel it was more because I despised the character than anything else. I was praying for their downfall the entire book. Then the last final twist had been scratching my head, - understandable as it was, it just further confused me as to what her entire problem was in regards to Nico.
Over all yes, I enjoyed the book and if there is a next (it does leave the potential) I would probably pick it up.
