Quick easy read but ROLLERCOASTER of a ride! Lucinda Berry does it again. 100% recommend my audience to read. This will get you out of any slump. Thank you NetGalley, Lucinda Berry and Simon & Schuster Audio Originals for this ARC.

Fast paced, novella length audiobook by the Queen of Dark Psychological Thrillers!
Jenna has a private therapy business and has been treating a young woman who is complaining about a man who is stalking her. Jenna, who has trust issues in her own personal life, has been snooping through her husband’s text messages. In those messages, she discovers that her husband, Colten, and his cousin, Bodie, are discussing Bodie’s regretful decisions while they were at a bachelor party. But those decisions will continue to haunt him. When the mysterious bachelor party and her client’s complaints collide, Jenna will have to make some decisions of her own with her family and her job hanging in the balance.
This is a graphic audio and the narration was fantastic performed by Danielle Savre, Alicia Crowder, Dan Bittner, Matt Godfrey, and Janina Edwards.
Thank you Netgalley, Simon & Schuster Audio, and the author for this ALC in exchange for my honest review. This book will be available for purchase on October 21, 2025

Thank you so much to Simon & Schuster Audio Originals for the free audiobook!
I loved Lucinda's previous short audiobook, ONE OF OUR OWN, and I knew this one would be good too!
It kept me on my toes the entire time and the ending surprised me, but the audiobook production really stole the show! I LOVED the fun sound effects, the muffled voices while reading text message threads, the little beeps, etc. It was a full-cast audiobook done flawlessly!
Just under four hours makes for the perfect quick listen!

A quick (about 3 hours) and entertaining listen. One of my favorite tropes is a therapist with mental health issues. Poor Jenna has some challenges with abandonment and trust. The story has some fun twists and I loved the full cast narration. 3.5/5

This is a great audio book! The performance really added to the story. I was hooked from the very beginning. I did not see that ending coming. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys thrillers.

I didn't realize this was a novella when I started listening to it. The storyline was razor sharp and had my heart pounding throughout. The full cast narration was fantastic and once again, Lucinda Berry has delivered a story that I will remember well after reading.

3.5 stars
A decent thriller, short and fast paced, with twists and surprises, but I wanted more of the sisters relationship. Slightly above average but I wish it had some more substance.

𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗖𝗞 𝗣𝗟𝗢𝗧 𝗣𝗘𝗘𝗞
After snooping her husband’s texts, therapist Jenna discovers a chilling link between him and one of her patients.

This is Jenna’s story, told entirely from her POV. Danielle Savre voices her so well and gives her real depth. The full cast and sound effects only pop in when Jenna reads texts or listens back to her own therapy sessions. Otherwise, it feels like a traditional audiobook, with Jenna narrating everyone’s lines.
Since it’s an audiobook exclusive, I always wonder “could this have worked just as well in print?” Not gonna lie, I think it could have. The cast and sound effects were fun, but they didn’t add anything vital to the mystery.

This short, fast-paced domestic thriller is about snooping, spying, and stalking. Jenna swears she’ll stop, but one text thread pulls her deeper and deeper into secrets. And she’s not the only one - there’s a stalker nicknamed Stan… and that’s all I can reveal without spoilers!
It’s lighter than some of Berry’s other books. There are heavy subjects (SA, for instance) but kept off page. The final showdown was gripping and fun - I’m a huge showdown fan - the twist, while not shocking, caught me by surprise.
𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗛 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗?
I think this is a perfect read for anyone new to audiobook exclusives. It’s easy to follow, a little quirky, and it doesn’t stray too far from a traditional listen. The story isn’t jaw-dropping or brutal like some of Berry’s thrillers, but really gripping and fun.
Thank you Simon & Schuster Audio for this #gifted ALC.

Okay, the therapist in me is absolutely appalled, but then I remind myself that the book is fiction and just a story. That being said, this book was okay. It didn't really grab me, but was a decent story to finish. There were really not any twists that you couldn't see coming, and all in all was pretty easy to figure out.
Thank you to Net Galley and Simon & Schuster for giving me this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I'm not sure if I'm just not into novella's or if a thriller novella leaves me unsatisfied due to the lack of build-up suspense. Even as I write this, knowing that my criticism's are all directly related to the shorten format, I can't help myself in feeling disappointed. With that said, this had some really intriguing moments. I thought we might be dealing with a crazy protagonist but as the story goes on what I really started to see was the "one-sided" POV left me me in the dark. There was hardly ANY conversations with the FMC and the MMC's that we were following. This left us thinking that our main character with a history of stalking might just be nutso. So back to what I did like.... there was some interesting moments where it's revealed that there is more to the story and then it LEAPS into this crazy end scene that is a head scratcher. So back to my initial thoughts.... maybe a novella isn't for me!

I really enjoyed this new thriller from Lucinda. It was quick, twisted and kept me guessing nonstop. I did feel slightly underwhelmed by the very end, but the build up and third act I thought were fantastic. These characters were messy as heck and I loved it.
The audio was great. Danielle Savre was our main narrator, but this is a full cast duet style narration and really well produced. A fantastic listen. Thank you so much to Simon and Schuster Audio for this advanced copy!

If you’re looking for a quick fast paced thriller you will love this audiobook.
The audio production is phenomenal. Jenna, a therapist, becomes suspicious when she finds a suspicious text between her husband’s cousin and him on his phone. She believes they are discussing one of her clients. I must admit, I was completely taken aback by the twist! It left me shaken.
Jenna’s profession might be a bit ironic, considering she might need more therapy than her clients!
4.5 star

First of all, the cover. Once I saw the cover, I knew I had to request this title. Then the fact that the main character is a therapist with some issues. It leads her down some paths that spirals in many directions. Our minds can weave all kinds of webs. Loved this book and the narrators were spot on. Def worth the read! Wow - this was a very satisfying and very wild short audiobook. The readers were fantastic and made it a whole performance, which I really enjoyed. The story perfectly suspensful, and had plenty of twists to keep it interesting even if you could see the big one coming.

This was such a quick but thrilling read. I had my suspicions about the culprit but never knew how it would all truly unfold. Lucinda truly has a way with stories. I am still in shock at the ending and how the real culprit came to be!

Lucinda Berry is one of my top recommended authors.
The audio quality and sound effects were amazing. Loved the premise of the book.

This audio was great! I enjoyed this book, and the twist was great. Lucinda always writes fantastic stories.

This is a short thriller with a full cast. Being in the mental health sector, I eat up books that have that element. I really enjoyed the twists and turns that Dr. Berry is known for! She does have a lot of real world mental health problems in her books that can be triggering for people.

Dr. Lucinda Berry has done it again!
This story pulled me in right away. It follows a therapist who learns just how fragile trust can be, and from there the story only gets darker and more unsettling. I loved how the tension built slowly until it felt like the bottom dropped out. The full cast narration with Danielle Savre, Alicia Crowder, Dan Bittner, Matt Godfrey, and Janina Edwards was fantastic. Each voice brought something unique and together they made the experience feel real and personal.
This audiobook is addictive, chilling, and completely binge-worthy. Fans of psychological thrillers are going to eat this one up.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC audio of the newest title by Lucinda Berry. This was my first audio listen by this author but it most definitely won't be my last. I really enjoyed the story line and plot and was drawn to the characters. Jenna and Lexus are not who you think they are, and neither are the husbands in this novel. Everyone is lying to some extent and it keeps the reader guessing, trying to figure out how they are all connected. The narrators were also fabulous and it was a short, quick listen!
