This quick (roughly 3 hour), face-paced thriller was great! It captured my attention immediately and kept it the entire time. I loved the audiobook - the narrators did an incredible job. It has some elements that you might hear in a graphic audio (texting, scenes that sound like they are from a recording, etc.), which I really enjoyed.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 (4.5 stars rounded to 5)
Would I recommend? Absolutely
Would I read/listen to this again? Probably not
- What I liked: The audiobook production and fast-paced story!
- What I didn't like: The ending didn't shock me like I hoped it would but I still liked it.
- Favorite quotes: "... and sometimes the greatest love story... it doesn't have to be romantic"
Thank you NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Audio for the ALC!

Great audio thriller.
Easy to listen in one go.
Had me on the edge of my seat.
Fast paced.
Great narration and production, another excellent book by Lucinda Berry!

Thanks to Netgally and the publisher for an advanced copy of the audio book in exchange for an honest review!
I love when audio books feel like you're listening to a movie, when there's a different narrator (for the most part) for each character. It makes the story much easier to follow and makes it more interesting, in my opinion.
This was a short book (only about 3 hours on audio), but it was filled with action from the start. I had to keep listening from the moment I pressed play. There were some twists at the end that I didn't see coming. The whole time I was listening, i kept thinking it would play out in a much different way. Boy, was i wrong!
I think this would be better on audio due to the fact that there's a full cast. If you like being on the edge of your seat, yelling at characters for their stupidity, and being blindsided by the ending, this book is for you!

I will be honest. I find Ms. Berry's books to be a mixed bag. Some are great, others ok. That being said, I really enjoyed this one!
Jenna is a successful therapist who has problems of her own. Due to childhood trauma, she has an intense inability to trust those closest to her. It's caused problems in her marriage. One day her spying leads to discovery of a betrayal of a family member. She is stunned when she realizes details of one of her patient's sessions is eerily familiar. Her desperation to uncover the truth will lead her to make questionable choices.
I was totally engrossed in this story. While I did predict a couple of twists, I didn't mind. It was still satisfying.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Simon and Schuster Audio for providing a ARC (audiobook) in exchange for an honest review!

This was my first Lucinda Berry book. I have heard some many good things about her writing and I just had to try them out for myself.
This was a short story, but I loved the plot and characters. The Narrators have done a great job. Even though it was a short read, it was straight to the point and didn't have any lingering questions.
The only thing I didn't like was her being so paranoid and having to snoop on her husband just to make sure he isn't lying to her. This is definitely a me problem by all means. Just drives me crazy when people have no trust in a relationship.
I knew who is was from the very beginning, but I didn't figure out how and why until the end. I devoured this book in one sitting. I will definitely be reading more of your books.
Thank you Netgalley, Simon & Schuster Audio, and Author for letting me review this Audio Arc in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Netgalley and Simon & Schuster Audio for this ALC!
This was my first Lucinda Berry. I know, I'm slacking!! It did NOT disappoint, and I'm excited to read her other novels even more so now.
***Possible spoilers ahead***
Jenna has trust issues due to her father leaving her and her sister when they were younger. As a therapist, she has tried to work on these issues to help with her own relationship. One evening she looks through her husband's phone, and notices some strange texts between her husband and his cousin, Brodie The cousin is also in a relationship with Jenna's sister, and they are expecting twin girls.
The cousins had been to a bachelor party together, and the dancer who was hired was sending messages to Brodie. He's freaking out because he knows he took it too far at the party, and he Colton how she has keyed the car and is asking for money. When Jenna reads the name, she's automatically in detective mode. Her client uses the same stage name, and has been dealing with a stalker for approximately the same time frame. She's unsure what is going on, and continues digging and crossing the line to get to the bottom of the story.
The twist in the end was not one I saw coming. I had a totally different theory of what the ending would be, and was pleasantly surprised at the true outcome.
This was a relatively short audiobook at a little over 3 hours. It felt like a huge production though. It was so well done, and I was invested from start to finish. This was a 5/5 star read for me, and I can't wait to read more!

I enjoyed this quick read from Lucinda Berry (only 3 hour audio book).
We are introduced to Jenna, a therapist with trust issues, as she navigates her career and married life. She obsessively checks her husband's phone, even though he has to date NOT cheated on her or given her any reason to think he is.
Jenna can't stop herself from checking his phone one night, and stumbles upon crazy messages between her husband and his cousin about a str1pper that they hired for a bachelor party. Jenna has a patient who is a str1pper, and suddenly her patient's story and her husband's text messages collide and she realizes that there is something definitely weird going on there.
There is a bit of a twist at the end, nothing too crazy. I enjoyed this and definitely recommend it.
Thank you Netgalley for this ARC!

Unsettling in all the right ways, this story takes you places you don’t expect. It’s bold, layered, and leaves you thinking long after the final page. Lucinda Berry doesn’t hold back, and it works.

4.5 stars!
I am an enormous fan of this author and her remarkable work! This audiobook exceeded my expectations in every way. It’s a fast-paced thrill ride filled with unexpected twists and turns. It’s one of those captivating stories where personal and professional lives collide in the most intriguing ways. Who knew therapists needed therapy, too?
In this audio thriller, therapist Jenna uncovers a disturbing link between one of her patients and her own family. Struggling with trust issues, Jenna has promised to stop snooping on her husband Colten's phone, but she breaks that promise and finds troubling messages involving Colten and his friend Bodie. They are being threatened by a dancer from a recent bachelor party named Lexus Chardonnay, who claims they crossed a line. Meanwhile, Jenna's client Kaitlyn, a medical student who dances part-time, has stopped attending therapy sessions, raising Jenna's concern. As Jenna listens back to their past sessions for answers, she must navigate the growing complexities of trust and danger that could jeopardize her career and family.
The narration was absolutely stellar! I’ve enjoyed these narrators in past experiences, and they truly brought the story to life. It was dramatic, emotional, and packed with suspense—just the right recipe for an unforgettable listening experience!
If you find yourself in a reading slump and are desperate for a way to reignite your literary passion, look no further. This audiobook is your ticket back on track! I was so engrossed that I couldn’t bring myself to hit pause; I devoured it in one sitting! The ending was not only satisfying but also delightfully unpredictable. You’ll have to dive in to discover the surprises that await!
Thank you, Simon & Schuster Audio, for the digital ARC copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Super quick thriller by Lucinda Berry. Keeps you guessing right up until the end and delivers an amazing shock factor at the end.

This was such an entertaining listen.
The story follows Jenna, a therapist with major trust issues. When her husband Colton returns home after leaving her for a period, she snoops through his phone and finds a concerning text that sends everything spiraling as she tries to connect the dots.
This audiobook is under 4 hours but packed with so much in a short time. The full cast narration really brought the text threads and patient voice recordings to life. The narrators nailed it.
While there were moments of predictability, there were plenty of surprises that kept me engaged.
Fast paced, super entertaining, and kept me guessing.
Huge thanks to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Audio for the advanced listening copy!

Lucinda baby you done it again! She is my auto buy author and anything you put out I will be buying!!!
This was a short and intense story, and I expected nothing less than amazing and that’s what it was

This was a great, quick, audiobook!
Pros:
-The whole production. The sounds, phone calls, and narration were all excellent. It felt like I was listening to a movie! I listened at 2X.
- How quick the audiobook was! There wasn’t any useless dialogue, long descriptive scenes, and it got right to the point.
Cons:
- None of the characters were likeable. I couldn’t even root for Jenna.
I enjoy Lucinda Berry’s books! This one was no different. Definitely recommend!

I had the dynamic audio read by Danielle Savre,Alicia Crowder,Dan Bittner,Matt Godfrey,Janina Edwards I love that each of the perspectives has their own narrator. Shame they couldn’t have gone one step further with the conversations being from each of the character narrators. Theres very few sounds effects which is good as I really don’t like them. The narration gives a good level of thre@t and tension so top marks there.
I feel it’s best not to read the blurb as it gives too much away. We have a good sense of unreliability portrayed by mental health issues and unacceptable behaviours, the downside is not being able to connect to the characters so I didn’t have anyone to root for. It provides lots of tension entertainment and twists.
Despite really enjoying it, and rating accordingly it’s only a short story/ novella,I wouldn’t purchase something so short as I like value for my money/ credits. I don’t know if it’s going to be provided in the audible plus catalogue.

Because I'm a thriller junkie, I spotted half of the twist from a mile away. That being said, I absolutely loved the story along the way. I took a few minutes to sit with my thoughts before writing this review, not sure what I wanted to say without spoiling the plot. First and foremost, thank you to NetGalley, Simon & Schuster, and Lucinda Berry for providing this ALC in exchange for my honest review.
I was blown away by the narrator, who embodied the energy of the FMC flawlessly. As a therapist, her primary concern is caring for her patients and maintaining their confidentiality. She was doing amazing at that, until Caitlin. Watching her struggle with crossing ethical boundaries and spiraling in her own mental health was nothing short of watching a trainwreck that you can't look away from.
This whodunnit has layers, even for a short 3ish-hour audio. It felt like being immersed in a conversation that was happening right in front of me. This is reminiscent of Freida McFadden's Never Lie, but with a twist.
If you're looking for a thriller you can binge in a day, this is 100% it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Audio for the audiobook. This was an entertaining and fast-paced story. The narration was good, but the reveal and the ending could have been longer.

I loved this audiobook! Very entertaining fast paced with an amazing full cast of narrators. Exactly what I needed to pull me out of a reading slump! I was so excited to get this alc and it didn't disappoint. I could've easily listened to this in one sitting if it wasn't for two crazy toddlers 😂.
**Thank you Netgalley, Simon & Schuster Audio and author Lucinda Berry for this ALC**

I received an ARC of this audiobook from NetGalley.
I’m a huge Lucinda Berry fan. I love her dark books, that make you stare straight ahead into pretty heavy and emotional topics.
Overall, this is a pretty good short story, although not one of my favorites of hers. I struggled to like really any of the characters in this book so didn’t really care what happened to them. Maybe that was intentional?
Either way, I will always ready anything she puts out!
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen and review.

Lucinda Berry knows how to write a completely unnerving story. This one gripped me from the beginning. The audio was great and the ending had me gasping.

Thank you Netgalley and Simon & Schuster Audio for an audio ALC in exchange for an honest review. Lucinda Berry is an auto-read author for me, so I requested this audiobook quickly before realizing it was a full-cast dramatization. I don’t typically like productions like this, and it holds that this wasn’t my favorite although the plot/story was solid.
This was a short one at just over three hours.
