I was so excited to read this audiobook ARC, and it completely lived up to my expectations. Lucinda Berry always writes such unique, gripping stories, and this one was no exception. From the very beginning, I was hooked by the suspense and couldn’t stop listening. The plot was full of unexpected twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end, and I loved how the tension built with every chapter.

The audiobook narration was absolutely fantastic. Each narrator brought the characters to life so vividly, and their performances added an extra layer of intensity that made the story even more immersive. The production quality was also phenomenal—clear, seamless, and perfectly paced—which made it easy to get completely lost in the book.

This was a solid 4-star read for me. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars was that the ending felt a bit rushed, and one of the crucial characters could have been fleshed out more. Even so, it didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment, and I still found this to be a thrilling, binge-worthy listen. Definitely add this one to your October TBR!

Thank you to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Audio for providing me with this advanced listener copy.

Thank you Lucinda Berry, Netgalley, Simon & Schuster Audio for the advance audiobook of This Is A Safe Place in exchange for my honest review.
I am a huge fan of Lucinda Berry and was excited to listen to this book. I wish there was words so I could follow along but I did love all the details like sounds of the text messages and so on. This was a shorter book than what I’m used to so I was kinda sad when it was over.

Jenna a therapist having trust issues with her own husband has to make a decision to break a promise she made to her husband. That decision would change everything she thinks she knows.

Jenna’s life and work life quickly become tangled leaving Jeanna to try to discover the truth.

I loved that this book jumped right into it, not long and drawn out every bit of detail is what is needed.

Thank you again another amazing book Lucinda

Firstly, thank you to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Audio for an early copy of this audiobook.

I have read just about all of Lucinda Berry's books. She's an autobuy for me, she's that good. This audiobook was no different. I listened to it in one day; I couldn't put it down. If you like a good, fast-paced thriller full of twists and turns, then this one is for you.

Jenna, a therapist, vowed never to look at her husband's phone without his knowledge ever again after what happened the last time. Something overtook her, and she was sure something was wrong. It was in the text thread between her husband and his cousin, a name, Lexus Chardonnay. She was sure she had heard that name before and knew it was the stage name of one of her clients, Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn was accusing Brodie, the cousin, of crossing the line sexually and threatening to tell his family members unless he gives her what she wants.

It's been three months since she heard from Kaitlyn, when she had her last session, which she left abruptly. Something about it makes Jenna listen back through all of the old sessions to see if she can piece it together. Can she figure it out without risking her marriage or work relationships to get to the bottom of it all?

The audiobook is the amazing full cast of narrators. Their performances brought the characters to life and heightened the suspense with every chapter, creating an immersive experience that pulled me deeper into the mystery.
This was such a great listen, and it's a perfect example of why I absolutely love Lucinda Berry's books. She consistently delivers gripping psychological thrillers, and This is a Safe Place is another one that didn't disappoint. If you're looking for a book that will keep you guessing until the very end, this is an excellent choice.

This is a Safe Space by Lucinda Berry is a steady-paced short audiobook about a therapist with trust issues who requires reassurance from her husband that she can trust him. Safeguards are in place like tracking app on phones and seeing information on his phone to help ease her fears. Some might think she takes her trust issues too far when her husband and cousin begin behaving suspiciously.

Her suspicions begin during a therapy session with a female client which leads to her investigating the notes. Now she’s crossing the line into being unethical and untrustworthy. This secret is eating at her and to protect her family she needs to uncover the truth.

The narrator brought this story to life. My ears were pleased with the tones and acting abilities of this talented performer. In my opinion every good book of this caliber deserves a voice.

If Lucinda writes it, I’m reading (or listening) to it! This was so good, everything we’ve come to want from a Lucinda Berry book. When lines are crossed between work and personal, how far is it ok to go?

Thank you to Lucinda Berry, NetGalley, and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A fun and quick thriller! This is a great audio if you’re looking for something short and suspenseful. I really liked that because it was a short, nothing was drawn out. The story takes an interesting turn when a woman realizes that a client has crossed over into her personal life in a way that is extremely unsettling.
The narrator did a great job with the main character and portraying the different emotions. She goes from feeling out of control and a bit obsessive, to being a very competent therapist. The switches in her mindset were very well done.

I listened to this audiobook in large thanks to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Audio and let me just say… this is the FIRST audio book that I have made it through. The full cast was amazing. Great voices, no boring moments.

The book itself was amazing and suspenseful. Jenna is a therapist with a clear OCD snooping problem in her husband, Colton’s, phone. He’s left her in the past for it, but she just cannot help herself. While snooping she finds out some dark information about Colton’s cousin, Bodie, who just happens to be married to Jenna’s sister, Phoenix.

A friends bachelor party has left many secrets, hushed phone calls, family covering for family. Once Jenna finds out the information she’s torn between telling her sister or not. Especially when she makes a shocking discovery that ties in one of her clients.

This book was well thought out, completely left me on the edge of my seat and wanting more. An absolute masterpiece by Lucinda Berry. I love all of her work and this one did not disappoint.

Thank you Netgalley and Simon & Schuster Audio for allowing me this audiobook as an ARC. I’ve read every Lucinda book and as soon as I saw this one come up as an audiobook ARC I requested it as fast as possible.

I love how Lucinda writes and this audiobook didn’t disappoint. It’s all about “whose story do you believe”, lies, stalking, revenge, deception, and major trust issues.

I loved the extras added to the audio, like the cell phone buzzing, the taped therapy sessions, the male voice changes for their conversations, it really made the audiobook that much more fun and entertaining. The whole book feels like you’re actually there watching it in real time even though you’re just listening. The narrators did a great job making the book come to life as well.

This book will give you stalker, true crime podcast and therapy vibes all mixed as one. Fast paced. Make yourself unavailable for a few hours because you don’t want to stop listening until the very end.

This one isn’t as dark as a normal Lucinda books but trigger warnings include: sexual assault, rape, infidelity

I love a full-cast audio dramatization, and This Is a Safe Space delivers an incredibly immersive experience. Even without that, the story itself is absolutely gripping.

At first, I wasn’t sure what to believe. Has the main character blown things out of proportion again, or is there something more serious going on? That uncertainty made the unfolding events even more shocking and unsettling. Lucinda Berry masterfully builds a situation that feels so real and plausible, it creates actual tension as you read.

The tangled web of relationship drama, stalker-level threats, and questionable therapist behavior kept me glued to the pages. I found myself constantly questioning what I’d do in the main character’s shoes… and I still don’t know. That moral ambiguity makes it impossible to stop thinking about.

And just when I thought I had it all figured out… the final twist hit me like a freight train. Absolutely blindsided.

Clear your schedule before you start this one because you won’t want to stop until you’ve finished the book.

As an avid reader (and audiobook binger), This is a Safe Space by Lucinda Berry was an absolute thrill to listen to. Told from multiple perspectives, this psychological suspense kept me fully engaged from start to finish—and I mean start to finish in one day flat. That’s how hooked I was!
The shifting POVs added a real sense of depth and realism to the story. Each voice—narrated brilliantly by Danielle Savre, Alicia Crowder, Dan Bittner, Matt Godfrey, and Janina Edwards—was distinct, and the transitions between characters were seamless. I especially loved the inclusion of the recorded patient sessions, which brought a chilling layer of intimacy to the story and made the psychological tension feel very real.
The pacing was spot-on: fast enough to keep me edge-of-my-seat invested, but steady enough to let the character development and suspense build naturally. I had my suspicions and started putting the puzzle together before the big reveal, but even so, the payoff still landed hard.
While it didn’t quite hit the 5-star mark for me (I save that for truly jaw-dropping endings), it was an immersive, smartly crafted thriller that I absolutely recommend—especially if you're into twisted psychology and don't mind finishing an audiobook in one sitting because you just can’t stop.
Thank you SImon & Schuster Audio, NetGalley, and Lucinda Berry for providing me the opportunity to listen to this advance audiobook copy and provide my honest feedback.

This Is A Safe Space(audio) 5⭐️

Short story jammed packed with just the right amount of character development, plot and history, twists, and turns.

This can easily be consumed in one “sitting” especially since it’s an audiobook that allows for multitasking. The audio production is engaging with the text messages being acted out by different actors and the recorded therapy sessions feeling very real.

This is a who-can-I-trust story as therapist Jenna pieces together that her personal and professional lives have started to weave together. While there are several potential victims, Jenna is determined to find out the whole truth about who is really hurting who.

I gobbled this up in one morning. I loved every second of it.

Thank you NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Audio for this ALC. This review will be shared on NetGalley and Goodreads.

Thank you to NetGalley, Simon & Schuster Audio, and Dr. Lucinda Berry for the advance audiobook of This Is a Safe Place in exchange for my honest review! 🎧

This is an audio exclusive and because of which, it has some fun elements including phone calls, audio recordings, and a full-cast narration. I love an audio experience and this felt immersive and easy to listen to! As Lucinda Berry is a therapist herself, I love reading her psychological thrillers. This one felt especially interesting since it featured a therapist main character with concerns toward some problematic behaviors of her partner as well as her own obsessions. I felt like this was the perfect length and no plot detail was drawn out too much or dragged, like can sometimes happen when thrillers are not succinct enough. Overall I found this to be an entertaining listen and highly recommend to people who love a psychological thriller and an immersive audio experience.

This audiobook was such a standout! The full cast of narrators brought every character to life with energy and emotion, making it a truly dynamic listening experience. The layered production—complete with sound effects and mixed media storytelling like texts, phone calls, and therapy session transcripts—made the format feel fresh and immersive. It fully embraced what an audiobook can be, and used every element to its advantage.
My only complaint? I wanted more! The plot was so engaging that I wasn’t ready for it to end. Highly recommended for fans of twisty, well-produced audio dramas.

Thank you NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Audio for allowing me to listen and review this book. 5/5 stars, honestly our girl Dr. Lucinda Berry does it again! Her books are always a quick but thrilling read and this was no different! Just when you think you have the story figured out, she throws you the plot twist and gets you every time!! The books are so interesting and keep the thrill going the entire book and this one truly had a happy ending which doesn’t happen in thriller all the time but I’m glad phoenix and Jenna found their love story and making the best of their lives moving forward!

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC of this audiobook. I love this author’s books since they are all quick paced thrillers. This book was very good with an instant pull into the storyline. Without any spoilers my main concern is that I don’t think the beginning of the book did a full circle to loop back into why. Not that all books do a full circle but I wanted to know more about her relationship with her husband and why it was the way that it was. It’s a good book when I am wanting more. I thought the narrator was great!

Lucinda Berry seriously writes such great twisty books. This one is quick thriller is perfect for a one sitting listen. This is one audiobook you won’t want to end.

Jenna is a therapist with trust issues. She finds a strange message on her husband Colten’s phone. The name mentioned links back to one of her patients. As she digs deeper, she’s forced to question her marriage, her career, and who she can trust.

Told through a full cast with voicemails, therapy sessions, and phone calls, the audio feels like almost like a movie. It’s gripping, emotional, and really well done. A great pick for thriller lovers.

Thank you so much to Net Galley & Simon & Schuster Audio for this advanced audio copy.

Jenna is a therapist who has trust issues. When looking at her husband's phone she comes across a troubling exchange which then blurs the line between personal and professional once she starts figuring things out. Then things get complex and thrilling. This audio had many different media formats which was fun! I also enjoyed the full cast! This story was fast and super engaging, you are sure to enjoy it!

This Is a Safe Space is hands down my new favorite from Lucinda Berry—and the audiobook? Absolutely haunting. The added sound effects—recordings that play out in real time, the subtle click of text messages being typed—pull you straight into the story and refuse to let go.

Jenna is a therapist who knows better than to blur the line between personal and professional—but knowing better doesn’t mean doing better. Already drowning in suspicion over her husband, one moment of weakness leads her to snoop… and what she finds links him to one of her patients.

With her world teetering and every instinct screaming at her, Jenna faces a brutal choice: protect the fragile boundary she’s built, or tug at the thread that could unravel everything.

Nothing in this story is safe—and that’s what makes it so irresistible.
