This was an exciting new find and definitely a story I will recommend and add to our library. Aurora is an excellent character and is one that you can connect with throughout the story.

I ended up DNFing this book after a few chapters because I was struggling to get into it. I just wasn't connecting to the story or characters and eventually lost interest. The premise of the book was appealing at first but sadly, it just wasn't the book for me and didn't grab my attention from in the first couple of chapters.

A YA fantasy that delivers a new and exciting world filled with mystery, magic, mayhem, and madness. Throw in some action, drama, and a dash of romance to complete this mystical journey.
A fairly enjoyable read. I easily got swept up in this wondrous world that the author created.
Aurora's journey wasn't an easy one and I found myself rooting for her most of the time. There were times when I wanted to beat some sense in her. I won't giveaway any details but needless to say she wasn't my favorite character.
Rafe, a mysterious boy she meets turned out to be my favorite. I loved the mystery surrounding him and of course the fact that he was handsome and deadly.
The plot paced fairly well but was often predictable for me. I was hoping for more. The climax of the book was a little disappointing for me as well. The ending wasn't a total cliff hanger where you're throwing your e-reader screaming instead you were left anticipating the sequel as the story evolves.
All and all, there were a couple things that I found disappointing but the overall story was enjoyable and interesting. I can't wait to see where Aurora and her friends' journey goes from here. I'll definitely be picking up the next book in the series.

**I received the novel in 2015 and was not able to finish reading**
I started reading and I found that the story started very quickly.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review. Unfortunately I am unable to give you a proper review. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Have not had the time to read and review. At this point I will not be able to get to it.

I loved this book. The story was always taking unexpected twists whether it was the story line or you learned something unexpected about one of the characters. Aurora and Rafe were definitely my favourite characters as there interactions were exciting and extertaining

I was really attracted to this book by its synopsis. It seemed interesting and reminiscent of what I usually read. The first half of the book was slow paced and it was hard for me to get hooked. However, I pushed through, and the second part of the book was wildly entertaining and fast paced. I loved the concept of this story and the forbidden love aspect of it. Aurora is perfectly portrayed throughout the book as someone who is unaware and naive. There were also a few surprises in this book :) I would recommend this book to anyone who likes medieval-like young adult fantasy.
