An audiobook with a great narrator makes all the difference and this narrator, Kate Hanford, was definitely that. I really enjoyed her characterisation, she brought the story to life beautifully.
There's plenty of story with twists and turns I somewhat saw coming (and one I definitely didn't!) and I can recommend it for enjoying over a few good seesions (for me that's mostly whilst I do creative hobbies)
Thanks so much to Bookature Audio via NetGalley for the audiobook, you've saved me a small fortune over the years and in return only request an honest review, which I'm happy to give.

The Liar I Married was an interesting story with plenty of twists that kept me curious about what would happen next. I liked how the author described the settings and made the characters’ relationships feel tense and dramatic. However, some parts of the book moved very slowly, while other important moments felt rushed. I also wished I understood the main character’s choices better, as they didn’t always make sense to me. Overall, it was a good read with some exciting parts, but the slow spots and confusing decisions made it just an average book for me.

I love a good thriller /mystery books. To be fair I think I've read a fair few and you generally get the same plots reoccurring and there's nothing new on the market. Boy did this book bring something new. The story starts with a women waking in her bed not know what has happened to her and why she's in a room with medical supplies and it starts to unravel that she been involved in a car accident but all is not as it seems. I like to think im pretty good at working out plots now but this book had me constantly thinking and justifying who and what was involved. Hood has produced an amazing book who will have you turning page after after hours after you should put the book down. I've not had myself so immersed in a book in a long time. Get ready for a brilliant thrill ride of emotions and fun this book will blow your mind.
More of a four and a half stars rating

I love thriller books, so this one automatically intrigued me when I read the synopsis. Unfortunately I didn't care for it much, this is my first time reading a book by this author, I feel like some of it is me not caring for the writing style enough. I really liked the first 30 or so percent but then near the end it seemed a bit predictable.
I didn't care for the characters much (including the main character), and the plot twist wasn't that surprising to me, I feel like it could have been better. This wasn't a terrible book, but it definitely wasn't the best either
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for an audiobook copy of this book.

The Liar I Married by DK Hood, with great narration by Kate Hanford. When the book starts Jesse is driving down the road while someone is yelling at her right before she crashes into a tree. then we learned that Jesse the mother of twin girls and wife of John whose marriage hasn’t been that great. He even left her after she gave birth to go visit her friend Daphne who was also giving birth despite begging him not to. That was years ago, nowadays she feels like her rival is Lawyer Rebecca who works with him at the finance firm. The book goes back-and-forth from her waking up from a coma that lasted 11 months and her life the year leading up to the crash. We learned she trusts her brother Michael but her husband not so much. When her grandmother dies she leaves her a note along with her whole estate but the note says that she was suspicious of Jessie‘s dad and Jesse‘s husband John. During her recovery dolly is her nurse but is Dolly friend or foe, Jesse can’t decide. Dolly claims Jesse must remember everything during the crash on her own nor will anyone confirm that she has two girls and if so whether they are alive and well. Not only that she cannot have visitors although she does get visitors who claim to be her close friends yet Jesse has no memory of them. Different people in her life while she’s in recovery keep alluding to the fact she may or may not be sain with the help of her friend Alex she will learn the truth and who she can trust and who she cannot and the answer surprise me. Although I will say I found the ending was quite abrupt but I really enjoyed this book. I did find it dubious that she couldn’t see her girls because even in the worst cases parents get supervised visitation not only that when someone wakes up from a coma they usually want the patient to be around familiar people and things to help regain their memory but that’s neither here nor there nor does it take away from the fact I really enjoyed this book. I do want to say however that the author did something she’s never done before and that is have the beginning make the ending borderline not plausible but it was so close it ultimately did seem believable… I guess. As I said irregardless this was an awesome awesome read. as I said I listen to the audiobook and thought the narrator did a great job. I found it hard to press pause and was always eager to get back to it. I definitely recommend this book you do have to suspend belief but the enjoyment is so worth it. #NetGalley, #BookoutureAudio, #TheBlindReviewer, #MyHonestReview, #DKHood, #TheLiarIMarried,

From the very first page, The Liar I Married flips the lightswitch on your reality and leaves you wondering whether you’re reading or watching a cinematic showdown—complete with breath-snatching suspense, spine-tingly tension, and that delicious urge to yell, “No, don’t trust him!”

Book- The Liar I Married
DK. Hood
I was initially drawn to The Liar I Married by its striking title and captivating cover. After reading the synopsis, I was intrigued by the premise and knew I had to dive in.
From the very beginning, the story hooks you, pulling you into the mystery of what the protagonist’s husband is hiding and why everyone around her seems determined to keep her in the dark.
The plot is full of twists and turns that kept me guessing. Just when I thought I had figured out who was lying and why, the story shifted direction and surprised me all over again.
The pacing is strong throughout, maintaining suspense without feeling rushed or overwhelming.
Overall, The Liar I Married is a gripping, unpredictable read that kept me engaged from start to finish. If you like "The Perfect Marriage" this one is for you.

I was lucky enough to receive an ALC of The Liar I Marred thanks to Netgally!
Man was i instantly suckered into this story and I couldn't stop listening I started. When the audio was done I immediately told my husband he needed to add this to his TBR or TBL!
This one had me questioning each of my own quess on who done it 😝

Thank you to NetGalley for sending me this book to review.
This book had me at the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen next. As I got further into the book, I felt I knew less and less about what was going to happen. There were so many characters who had a reason to be the suspect in Jessie's accident, yet I still didn't see the twists coming. Not only did the characters play mind games with each other, I felt they were playing mind games with me throughout the book as well.

Well what the actual F. None of this book and I do mean NONE of this went how I thought it would. This book had me questioning my sanity along with Jessie. It was nice and twisty and keeps you guessing. My only issue is Jon. This guy KNEW things bothered her especially with Rebecca and what does he do? Nothing. Just brushes her off. I hate how he treated her when it came to her feelings about other women. Alex is my hero. Period. I wanted Jessie to leave Jon and be with him. He supported her and was there for her. That’s the type of man she should be with. Without spoiling anything I can NOT believe who was behind all of this. The scheming was just insane.

Man did this book keep me wondering the whole time. You are trying to figure out who is playing with whose emotions and who is behind everything throughout the whole story. The twist at the end was truly a surprise.
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read this arc

The Liar I Married had me hooked from the start. I did not want to stop listening to this very intense mind blowing psychological thriller. It kept me guessing until the very end. Lots of twists and turns in this one. This was my first time reading a book by D.K. Hood and it will not be the last!
Thank you to Net Galley, Bookouture Audio and D.K. Hood for the opportunity to listen to this brilliant ARC audio book

Audio file didn’t play properly so I as only able to listen to first 6 chapters. Shame as it had potential.

I enjoyed this audiobook. It took a little while to get into it but I am glad that I did. The narration was good as well.

I mean wow wow wow wow and WOW!! I DEVOURED the audiobook as much as I could! My head was all over the place! I couldn't believe the situation we were in, and I loved the chapters counting down to our present day.
John irritated the hell out of me! Couldn't he see what his behaviour was doing to Jessie!! And then it felt like it was excused after a while!
Alex to me was golden! What a support and a friend. Although maybe he could have tried harder with the radio silence! I did find it odd that no one came looking for Jessie!!
This book does mess with your head; it was stellar! I had no idea who was real and what was real! So many secrets and so much deceit that all you can do is go with the flow of the book.
It really was fantastic, and I didn't want to put this down ever. My mind was boggled every step of the way, and I was tempted to just jump to the end as I was getting impatient. I didn't, I lived every moment with Jessie when she was awake!
This is a book I won't forget in a hurry, where the wolf hides in plain sight!!

Jess is so dumb. So easily manipulated. I don’t love when authors make the female lead weak and dumb.
Average thriller, good narration and production.

I genuinely did not know who I could trust in this book including the narrator!
Jessie has just woken up in bed with a nurse standing over her and unsure of how she got there and why only to then be told she was in fact in a car crash that almost took her life and it was her own fault. Only remembering snapshots of her life Jessie still is not convinced the crash was an accident. Laying in her recovery bed, Jessie begins to remember more and more including the decline of her once beautiful marriage that was torn apart when her husband John met Rebecca. While he has always insisted he has never cheated on her, Jessie doesn't believe either of them when they they were not on a cosy date when she was convinced beyond a doubt that that is what she had seen and when pieces of the night of the accident play back in her head she is reminded of the hours before the crash when John was late home from work, an empty wine glass, Rebecca climbing out of John’s car, a blazing row on the doorstep…
This is a thriller that genuinely kept me guessing for quite a while and shifted away from what I originally thought the book was going to focus on. There were so many twists and turns, back story and extra characters that played a huge role. The synopsis didn't give all too much away regarding the plot and huge parts of this story are revealed to you as you read it with no warning coming up. For the first half of this book I didn't know who to trust! Everyone was suspicious including the narrator for I wasn't sure just how reliable she was, after all, her memory was not fully recovered. There were questions and mysteries throughout that kept me on my toes and guessing and overall this was a fun domestic thriller easy to get lost in pretty quickly.
Now, I did feel as though the second half of the book had its predicable moments. It felt as though once something was revealed it was simple the truth of it and we didn't dive much deeper and it felt as though we were lacking one more twist and a touch anti climatic. The final page however, did leave me with some questions I'm just unsure on whether or not that was a good thing this time around. There were moments I struggled to keep up with everything going on and certain characters which did effect my rating but didn't take away from how exciting and thrilling this book was.
I listened to this as an audiobook and felt the narration was great. Clear dialogue and Kate Handford did a great job brining Jessie to life and picking up on her emotions, conveying them convincingly. I think a second narrator would have been a good option simply because there were a lot of characters and I feel as though it would have been easier to follow along with a second narrator.
Overall, this was a fun thriller that kept me guessing throughout most of the story and had characters I genuinely loved. I didn't know who to trust and the story flowed really well with nothing feeling slow or rushed. I would absolutely recommend if you're looking for an easy read thriller.

First I want to thank NetGalley for an advanced copy of the audiobook. A car accident, no memory of what happened, no one telling you anything. This had me pulled in from the beginning. As she slowly gets bits of the memories back can she questions if her husband is being faithful. Or had he given up even before the accident. Why won’t she be allowed to get information about her life? Don’t trust anyone!

Plenty of juicy elements here—amnesia, secrets, shifting loyalties—but The Liar I Married doesn’t always wring every drop of tension from its premise. The pacing leans more slow-burn than pulse-pounding, but the unreliable narration and steadily mounting doubt kept me curious. A good pick if you like your thrillers more psychological than action-heavy.
For fans of Frida McFadden and character driven thrillers.
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 3.5 stars— Rated 14+ for language and mature themes.

If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers that twist your perception and keep you guessing until the final chapter, The Liar I Married is a must-listen. D.K. Hood delivers a taut, emotionally charged narrative that explores the fragility of memory, trust, and identity—all amplified by Kate Handford’s stellar narration.
A woman wakes up in a hospital after a car crash, with fragmented memories and a growing suspicion that her husband may be hiding something sinister. Handford’s performance is a standout. Her voice work adds emotional depth and tension, especially during scenes of paranoia and dread. She differentiates characters subtly, avoiding overacting while maintaining clarity. Her pacing is impeccable—never rushing the suspense, yet keeping the listener hooked.
