I enjoyed this book! I am so glad that I finally got around to reading this one since it has been on my tbr for basically forever. I am a sucker for second chance romances so Millie and Logan’s story was easy for me to get behind. I decided to listen to the audiobook and Kate Russell did a fantastic job with the narration.

Millie and Logan were in love when they were young and they both thought that it would be forever until Millie called it off without any warning. Fast forward twenty years, Logan is a divorced father of 2, and Millie is a successful business owner. When they reconnect, it takes them some time to actually open up to each other. They have both changed a lot in the years they have been apart but the chemistry between them is still there. The big question is can they make it work this time.

I liked Millie and Logan and loved how much chemistry they had. At first, I wasn’t sure how they would make it work because their lives seemed to be very different but that changed once they opened up with each other. They did have a lot of obstacles to overcome but it quickly became obvious that they still had strong feelings for each other. Logan is the quintessential alpha male which is okay in a story but would drive me crazy in real life.

Kate Russell does such a good job with this book. I love the voices that she uses for the various characters. I was impressed by how much emotion she was able to express in her reading. I do believe that her narration added to my overall enjoyment of the book.

I would recommend this book to others. I did feel like this book was a bit, okay maybe more than a bit, too long but that is my only real complaint. I had a great time with Millie and Logan as they worked to find their second chance at a happily ever after.

I received a digital review copy of this book from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via NetGalley and purchased a copy of the audiobook..

Kristen Ashley is Hit or miss with me. I have enjoyed several of her books and not really enjoyed others. Walk Through Fire was somewhere in the middle. The characters seemed to be well developed but the story itself just fell a little flat for me. This won't dissuade me from reading more of her books though.. As some of her romances sway more to the contemporary romance side and I seem to like those a bit more.

I found myself being completely unable to relate with the heroine at the beginning of the book. I could not fathom wasting away twenty years of my life, nor could I ever imagine myself making an important decision unilaterally. Luckily for Millie, once High got his head on straight, he was much more understanding. But even though I disagree with her perhaps too young decision about High, Millie totally won me over. She worked for and achieved everything she wanted regarding her career, she’s patient, selfless and kind but also a strong and witty woman worthy of a total alpha male biker.

If I could give this story more than 5 Stars, I would. In true KA fashion, we get our hot Alpha biker and the sweet, loveable (but can be tough) woman he loves. And when we get the older couple stories, we get lots of family time too. We do see more action in this book than in the previous and it has me nervous for the next few books for sure. I cried once and teared up a few other times because the beginning 40% just gutted me. I loved how we got to see High and Millie first fall in love 20+ years ago, their tumultuous reunion, and then the perfect reunion as only a KA alpha can perform . . . reinserting himself into his lady love’s life until she fully understands he’s not going anywhere. Plus, we saw the other Chaos ladies, Elvira and a few other KA characters we love, then another wonderful epilogue.

Millie and Logan have a start that only some can dream of. When they first meet, it was love at first sight and they knew that they were going to be each other's forever. Even though there was a little age different between them, they were able to overcome that and still have a relationship that others dream of. When Millie gets some devastating news, she does the only thing she knows to do. She pushes Logan away so that he won't end up getting hurt too.

Twenty years have passed and neither Millie or Logan have seen each other and have tried to go about living their own lives. Logan has married and has two daughters of his own. The marriage is just not what he had in mind though and ends up divorcing.

Millie has just been living. She associates with her friends and family, but that is about it. Millie has not moved on from Logan and has no intentions to. When these two run into each other again, they are willing to give it a second chance to mend broken hearts. Will they be able to overcome their past though? That is a lot of years in between them.

Millie is not a pushover and is very strong willed. She is not going to let someone tell her what to do. Logan is a true biker, but he has his sensitive side as well. I love the way that he talks to Millie. This was a good MC club read that will leave you wanting more of Millie and Logan. Even though this is the fourth book in the Chaos series, I believe that it can be read as a stand alone. Great read!

DNF this a long time ago - did not realize I did not review why. Was not a fan of either characters. Did not like how Logan gave his kid an ultimatum just because she didn't like Millie - and honestly could not blame her, I didn't like Millie either.
The big reveal, I called it before 30% of the book and I thought it was way too over dramatic , communication goes a long way.
