This is a well crafted, fast paced, all action thriller in the Simon Peake series. His indestructible, no fear character is similar to the likes of Jack Reacher and John Milton, for those who enjoy their books, this is another series to try.

Deadly Mistake is much too dark for me. The violence is too much for me as well. I couldn't finish it. Why would I want to immerse myself in such a world?
Thanks NetGalley for the ARC.

Rob Sinclair finds some interesting ways to link espionage and crime genres together with an action-vehicle that keeps all your senses on high alert. From car chases to brutal gunfights, there’s no shortage of adrenaline. On top of that, Deadly Mistake packs riveting twists and turns that not only catch you off guard but twist the whole story on its head until you really can’t trust any character except for Simon Peake. The adrenaline-infused paranoia elevates the reading experience to much more satisfying heights

Simon Peake is not your average hero. He's called a cleaner. If you have a body, you want gone, then he's your man. But things go sour when he is brought the body of a woman to dispose of.
One problem...she's not dead.
Failing to do the job and killing two of the men who brought her to him, Peake finds himself on the wrong side of Lance Hardy, a scumbag who likes to feed people he doesn't like to his dogs.
Then things really heat up.
Sinclair has written an action-packed story with the cental character Simon Peake, I think being more of an anti-hero than anything else. It was well written and overall entertaining enough to hold my attention.
But be aware, this book has an element of violence and gore if you intend to read it.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this story.

Ex Special Forces Simon Peake tries to ignore the knock on his door, but his curiosity wins. Someone who considers Simon a friend asks for his help in disposing of a body. The only problem is that the woman isn't dead. Simon tries to help her, though he has no idea who she is or who wanted her dead. And, unfortunately, to help her, he has to add to the body count.
I read about a third of this book and it was way too violent for me to find enjoyable. The plot was intriguing, so I skipped to the last few chapters to see how it all ended. This would likely make a great action movie, but it wasn't my cup of tea.
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Ffast paced thrill ride that never lets up - action, suspense, violence, and secrets at every turn - evil villains and their minions everywhere, and Simon falls right in the middle of it all. If you like Die Hard, and who doesn't, definitely the same vibe.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood books for the chance to read this book . I enjoyed it , it gripped me from the beginning and kept me interested all the way through..Another Simon peak adventure story.
There are only 3 people know where Simon is living and there’s a knock at the door. Who could it be?
This book is very well written and I look forward to the next one .

Fast paced testosterone fest with a solid plot and lots of blood and violence.
I requested and received a temporary uncorrected digital galley from Boldwood Books via NetGalley.

This is the second Simon Peake book, and he is trying to have a quiet life in Georgia. His friend Adam asks him for help with a dead body, but it turns out Lucia isn't dead at all, and this is the start of a whole load of trouble for Peake. There are loads of villains looking for Lucia, and Peake has to fend them all off. The plot is good, with lots of twists, and the book is extremely violent.
We hear more about Peake's life in this book, which is interesting.
I look forward to the next one.

Lots of action, but it took a bit of time to figure out how it all fit together. After a slow start (plot-wise) the story came together and was quite enjoyable.

A knock on the door in the middle of the night catches ex-Special Forces Simon Peake off guard. He only recognizes the face of one of the three men standing on the other side, and the ‘help’ they need is to dispose of a dead body crumpled in the trunk of their car. The problem is the woman in the trunk isn’t dead at all. In a matter of moments, Peake makes a call to help and protect this stranger, but it’s a decision that will drag him back into the dark and dangerous world of drug cartels, mob bosses, and rogue CIA operatives who will stop at nothing to use Peake as a porn in their games! Wow fantastic book and series! Like an action packed movie! With thrilling suspense, murder, mystery, intrigue, action packed, high octane scenes and some shocking moments! The story was very interesting! I highly recommend reading this book and series! Can’t wait for more! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

Deadly Mistake is a very good read full of thrills, suspense and plenty of action. It has a good start which piqued my interest and drew me quickly into the story. The writing is good and engaging and the story flows well. The plot is all to believeable, and Peake enters the world of drug cartels and shadowy Government agencies where others have their own agendas. He needs his wits about him, but who can he trust? Some of the scenes are very gory which I like, although this may not be for everyone. All in all a fast paced, thrilling read that certainly hit the mark for me. If you like books with action, thrills, characters you either root for or loathe then this is for you and I'd recommend it. Think you're best to read the previous book first though to know the main character from the start.
4 stars

Thanks @netgalley,the author @robsinclairauthor and the publishers @theboldbookclub for the ARC.
This is the 2nd book in the Simon Peake series and it certainly didn't disappoint! We meet Somon trying to keep a low profile in a small American town till trouble comes knocking on his door!
It was full of twists and turns throughout and a bit gruesome at times, but it was good to delve a little bit more into Simon's character!
If you enjoy espionage/thriller/special forces type genres I'd definitely recommend anyone giving any of Rob Sinclair's books a go!

Simon is a character that I took awhile to warm to but once I did I was cheering him all the way. He very nearly loses his life a few times but somehow he pulls through. It starts with a bang and ends on a even bigger one. The plot has heaps of rip roaring action adventure.

I really enjoyed Rob Sinclair's first trilogy so looked forward to settling down with this one.
The man character isn't one I'm familiar with but soon warmed to and he was easy to get behind.
A good, solid plot with plenty of action and obviously well written.

Peek is now living out in a cabin in the forest, and there is a knock on his door. Not expecting anyone, it takes him many minutes to open the door. The one person of the three he knows is the brother of the woman he is seeing. It does not end well for the other two, and you get to see all of the skills that Peek has, for the woman whom the three thought was dead is alive. This book really takes you for a ride with plenty of action and a storyline that has you wanting to get to the end to see how it all really began. Excellent characters, along with a well-thought-out storyline to keep us, the readers, hooked to the book from start to end.

A thrilling story which got me hooked immediately so that I had to finish it. Good characters as well, I really cared what would happen to them which is a good sign that they were well drawn. Highly recommended.

This book starts out with a bang and never lets up. For me I had to suspend reality some, Simon has more lives than a cat. It you are looking for a fast paced action adventure this is it. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

Another fabulous Simon Peake adventure.
Simon is living a low key, very laid back existence out west, when a friend shows up at his door in the middle of the night with two thugs, begging a favor that gives with a large cash payment.
It seems they have a body to dispose of and Simon's young friend, Adam, has convinced them that Simon is the guy to handle it.
And off the story goes in to another riveting and suspense filled Sinclair five star read.
Non stop action, intrigue, and incredibly interesting characters fill the story as the plot unwinds.
Great story. Great characters.
Simon Peaks is a winner and Rob Sinclair gas grabbed the golden ring again.
Next please.

this was everything that I wanted in the second book in the Simon Peake thriller series, it had that feel that I was looking for and enjoyed the overall tension of this plot. It continued the story perfectly and thought it had that world building that I was looking for. Rob Sinclair has a strong writing style and the characters were written so well and glad I read this. I hope there is more in this series and from Rob Sinclair.
