I was invested in what was happening with Ella and the rest of the characters in this universe. It was so well written and enjoyed the overall concept that was presented. Mary Ruth Barnes was able to weave a strong writing style and was glad I got to read this. It was everything that I was wanting and glad it worked overall.

As the state of Oklahoma is beginning to, a young Chickasaw woman is trying to raise her family. She fights among others who are also trying to make their life there. A very touching story.
