Project Titan: Defect by Rian Adara is a thrilling and addictive dystopian read that kept me hooked from beginning to end. Lottie is a fierce and compelling heroine, and the mix of action, romance, and high-stakes intrigue made the story impossible to put down. I loved the intensity, the twists, and the emotional depth woven throughout. I truly enjoyed this book and rated it five stars.

This book has a pretty good premise. I wish we had a little more time with the main FMC in the beginning for what it was that she did, kind of showing that side of the world and really diving into why she indulges in her vices the way that she does. Same with the former relationship that she had and then how things circle back around. The pacing was decent, and the sci-fi elements and what the characters "powers" are is somewhat believable.. I like the way it's explained and how it's viewed.
While the book is good, I just really couldn't connect to the characters so much. I really do think if there was more depth in the beginning to really learn about the world that way with carefully crafted exposition and living in those moments, it might have engaged me a little further. Is this a good book to read? Yes. Will I read the author again? Potentially. Would I recommend this to others? Yes.

This was a great opening chapter in the Project Titan series, it does an amazing job in bringing the dystopian elements to what I was hoping for and introduces the world perfectly. I enjoyed how good the characters were written in this book and was used overall in this. It was suspenseful and worked overall with what was happening and glad I got to read this. It left me wanting to read more in this series and from Rian Adara, as they wrote this so well.
