Medieval Historical Romance at its best. My only complaint is that I didn't know about this series or this author. I have a new favorite author now, Lois Templin is an excellent storyteller. I absolutely fell in love with Anora & Hunter.
Hunter has always been a warrior that works alone. No distractions and always dealing with danger on his own! Anora is a talented goldsmith. She has been handling things since her father is aging and both her mother and brother have passed. Some unexpected clues have shown up and she is on a mission to find the man who killed her mother. What they didn't plan for was running into each on their "missions".
Even though she has known Hunter for years, he has even dined at her home, she still thinks he's cold and not interested. She can't be more wrong! It takes every once of strength Hunter has to stay away from her because he is actually in love with her.
You are in for an adventure. It is packed with intrigue, action, and the passion we all dream of! So well written with outstanding characters and story you will absolutely fall in love with. I am hooked on Templin's way of storytelling. I became so involved in the story I forgot I wasn’t actually a part of it. With out a doubt I must read the series.
Enjoy this passionate adventure for yourself!
A Million Stars

Great love story with a suspenesful plot. Never a boring moment, witty and entertaining. Classic true love that prevails. Definitely worth the read.

Heart of the Hunter is part of the Band of Bastards series, but even without having read the earlier books I was able to enjoy it as a standalone.
It’s a fun mix of romance, danger, and adventure, with tropes like unrequited love, forced proximity, with main characters that kept the story engaging.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for the ARC. A great pick for anyone who enjoys historical romance!

These guys sure have chemistry! Anora is a Goldsmith who has a sunny personality. Hawk is a stoic mercenary. She's trying to retrieve some stolen jewelry from a real bad dude. Hawk happens to see her and follows her into the castle. They have a heck of time getting out. There's lots of witty banter and it's very obvious that they are smitten with each other.. She helps him come out of his shell and it's glorious. The characters from the last two books are featured too.
Thank you to Lois Templin and Dragonblade for the copy of this book. Opinions are my own.

Anora is determined to uncover who has been stealing from them. Hunter, a member of the Band of Bastards, is equally determined to keep her from harm. A fast moving, stand alone story that will grip your imagination and hold on to it through the wild ride.

Fast paced, suspenseful, and romantic, Hunter has his hands full keeping Anora safe as she sets out to prove the theft of jewels from her family's goldsmithing business. Hunter is beyond frustrated with her when she refuses to listen to him. With other factors also at play, Anora's father agrees to let Hunter accompany her to search out answers. They certainly get more than they bargained for, and when all seems lost, Hunter is only too grateful to find that the woman he has fallen in love with is resourceful and brave. The novel is a standalone and comes to a lovely conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This medieval romance is part of a series. You will meet the characters from the first two books in this one. That will not spoil them if you haven't read them yet, and you don't need to have read them to enjoy this one. It is however nicer to track each of the characters from start to end. I'm thinking there could be one more book to come. I hope so. I haved loved all of them. We get strong, intelligent and independent women and men with the courage to love them.
Our heroine this time is a goldsmith who has discovered that the thief who killed her mother could be closer than first believed. Our hero is an assassin and spy who now works for the good of others. The story is filled with adventure and danger.
Great fun.

Exhilarating romantic adventure!
Opening with a harrowing escape, this book takes us on quite the adventure as Hunter and Anora face-off against a villainous baron while investigating a murder/robbery mystery, and trying to battle their intense chemistry because each is absolutely convinced that a relationship could never work.
Set two years after the previous story, I loved how the romance picks up after a lengthy period of just friendship as Hunter gets to know Anora's family and inadvertently proves himself worthy of her. Anora carries the weight of the world on her shoulders, brazenly independent and determined to chart her own course despite her feminine disadvantages. I loved the way they teased each other, and how they learned to lean on each other's strengths without compromising their own goals. I was especially moved by Hunter's backstory, and how it perfectly explained why he was such a dangerous man yet still a hero at heart.
There's plenty of action in this story, and I could not have enjoyed it more. It was lovely to see Hawk and Alyce as well as Red and Galiena again and get caught up with their HEAs. I was a little surprised at the abrupt transition from the climactic scene to the epilogue that left a few questions, but I was not at all disappointed in their HEA and future plans.
I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more from this author.
