I love the characters in this book. They are very well fleshed out and are very much each their own person/creature. The town gives me spooky season small town vibes. The one thing I must say though is that I feel like the story "ended" in an odd place. By reading the synopsis you would believe that recovering the teapot would be the ending, but the book stops before that point. It just feels a bit off and unfinished to me because of this, though I know "Vol. 1" is part of the title, which means there should be more volumes to come. It still just didn't feel like a completed story.

An adorable middle grade graphic novel! Sisters, witches, mermaids, a kelpie, and a mystery to solve. Readers will love the illustrations, and will definitely find one of the many characters to relate to, and want to solve the mystery of the missing teapot!

This comic has a beautiful and bright graphic style, which is sure to appeal to young readers. The story, with its magic and mystery will also likely be a hit, however I found too many ideas / creatures felt crammed into volume 1 and the dialogue was a little clunky for me in places. I had to flip back and forth to try and follow the plot in places.

The Witches of Pepperwood bay is a super cute graphic novel following three sisters who are using their magic to help solve a mystery. The art style is fantastic, and the story is really cute. I look forward to reading the next one and finding out what happened!
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review.

The first dive into Pepperwood Bay is an exciting one that opens new doors for witchy readers. This book is more than perfect for its target demographic. Very middle-grade. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful. Love making stories like this more accessible to our young, interested readers. Three sisters living in a beautiful community work together to unfold a mystery after the town’s Harvest Festival. In a word? Cozy. Magical. Cute.

The Witches of Pepperwood Bay is the first book in a new graphic novel series about three witch sisters who live in a lighthouse and keep watch over the island they reside on.
Juniper, Clover, and Lily are called upon to track down a missing magical teapot that disappeared after a festival. As the sisters investigate, we meet a host of magical mythical creatures (my favourite was the adorable Kelpie) and learn more about the magical systems they use and the sisters' relationship with each other.
The illustrations are really lovely, and I just loved the whole vibe of the book from the first page. This is an intriguing new series perfect for muddle-graders to adults, and I can't wait to see what happens in volume 2.

Witches of Pepperwood Bay is the story of three magical sisters. This story has INCREDIBLY magical ambiance and the most delightful scenery and locations. The illustrative style is bright, straight forward, and realistic. It’s somehow reminiscent of something that you’d see in a Pixar movie. (For me it gives: Avatar the last Airbender meets Emperors New Groove meets Frozen, and the Winx club). The color pallet is fairly true to reality. Characters are all highly whimsical with different brightly colored hair. The text is very simple, but the characters personalities POP off of the page in a huge way. The main plot involves the witches teaming up to solve a community mystery. I am THRILLED to recommend this title to a few specific little girls at my library, and can’t wait to buy every installment to follow. The girls are both very cutesy looking, but also visually read as somewhat mature (teenagers or young women to me). The art is absolutely stunning and engaging enough for an adult to enjoy this story, while the actual plot and text are simple enough for a younger child. This is a really special book! With the character’s mature looks, the unbelievably gorgeous art style, and the simple text, this may just be the perfect read for a reluctant or struggling older reader. Easy to comprehend, but a fascinating style and so much visual examination to be done outside of the text.

A digital copy of this book was provided by the publisher in exchange for my opinions and review.
I really enjoyed this graphic novel. I think it would be a hit with many young readers as well. The colour palette and digital illustrations pull you in. It has a rich story that is cozy yet engaging and is filled with cryptids and creatures (witches, kelpies, mermaids) that children will love to follow. I'm glad to see that this is a series. I think that following these sisters will be something many young readers will love to do.

Witches of Pepperwood Bay is a super cute graphic novel about 3 witch sisters who are helping to solve issues in their magical town. I really loved the illustrations and the beautiful world-building in this book. It spends much more time showing the environment than focused on actual plot, but I was ok with that. This is a perfect cozy fantasy read for the middle grade crew! My only complaint was that the ending felt a little bit abrupt, but it could just be that I wanted more lol.
Thanks to NetGalley, Lisa Wiley, and Papercutz for the chance to read and review! My opinions are my own.

Witches of Pepperwood Bay is a charming middle-grade graphic novel that follows three witch sisters as they work together to solve a mystery and encounter fascinating new magical creatures. The setting is delightful, with an underwater adventure that adds a fresh and engaging twist to the plot. While the artwork can feel uneven at times, the imaginative world-building will appeal to young readers, and the sense of discovery is infectious. The story moves quickly, making it an easy and enjoyable read, particularly suited for early graphic novel readers or as a fun pick for school and public libraries. Although the characterisation could be more refined, the warmth of the sisterly bond and the pleasure of exploring an enchanting, magical realm make this a pleasant and inviting escape.

The art feels computer generated in a way that colors my perception of the graphic novel but I can see where there's a lot to like for a middle grade audience who loves the graphic novel format. It's about three witch sisters and their world in which they need to solve a soft mystery. Yet, since it's a volume one there's still more to come so it's not completely resolved, it's an introduction only to the world and the girls and their personalities.
It wasn't unique enough in either style or story to stand out for me though I was anticipating it. Fine, not stellar.

Three witch sisters, Juniper, Lily and Clover live in the enchanting world of Pepperwood Bay. After the annual Harvest Festival, a mystery unfolds. It is up to the sisters to figure out what happened. A fun and cozy magical adventure

so cute! this is a cozy, magical story and leaves you wanting more. i love the overall aesthetic and the art is adorable

Love the art style of this read. Cute, Cozy and fun. Has a good pacing and ends with a mystery to lead into Vol 2! Young Readers will definitely enjoy!

This is a cozy, lighthearted story about a group of three witch sisters. The sisters live in a small town and are trying to solve the mystery of who stole a magic teapot during a festival. This is Vol 1 so the mystery is not all wrapped up by the end. Young readers will enjoy this story.
