Oh, I loved this book so much more than I expected. Clarke's voice was compassionate, funny and down-to-earth. And, despite being a 40yo elder bisexual, I still learned a fair few things--something else I didn't expect!

I would whole-heartedly recommend Step Bi Step to any parent of a pre-teen, teen or young person, regardless of their sexuality. It's not only an easy read but opens up so many conversations about empathy, tolerance and finding your authentic self, as a teen or adult.

My particular favourite chapter was on intersectionality and I really appreciated that Clarke had guest authors share in their own voices. It made the book feel more cohesive and full of community.

As a parent and someone who works with teenagers and young adults, I found this book educating and compassionate.
It is so rich - works as a guide for young who wish to know more about themselves, and how to handle their identities, and works as a guide for parents, carers and educators to help support bisexual young people. There is a lack of literature on this, and this book fills one of the gaps.

I got this as an arc on Netgalley and it will come out next month. I think this book is much needed and fills a gap in queer education for teens. Bisexuality is often skipped over but a lot of queer people are bi+. It was short and easy to understand without skipping important info.
