Stacey Jernigan does a fantastic job in creating a legal thriller novel, it had that feel that I was looking for and enjoyed the overall feel of this. It felt like a real concept and enjoyed that Stacey Jernigan uses their real life experience to create a unique and well done storyline. The characters were so well done and enjoyed how realistic they were in this universe.

This was a DNF at 60% for me.

The first 30% was quite enjoyable. The murder happens immediately which is wonderful (a lot of thrillers and mysteries have nothing happen until 60% in so I appreciated this). The writing style was lovely and I enjoyed the humor.

The long paragraphs began to pull me out of it a bit since I have to read this on a tablet due to the formatting. There are so many characters I’m struggling to keep track of them which is unfortunately something I personally avoid in mysteries and thrillers.

By 55% I was a bit lost and not having fun anymore which is why I am putting this lovely book down for now. The cover is super cool though and so is the chapter art! I think the physical book will likely be a more enjoyable experience.
