This was a beautiful story about coming-of-age, friendship, and grief. I loved it. I loved each character and I loved how messy they all were. I loved the deep friendships and love they have for each other. This was messy and raw and fun.

Side note: This is the best cover of 2025.

Thank you to Crown Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC.

This was a funny, character driven novel following 3 best friends/room mates after their best friend Lidia dies. They are all deeply flawed, funny, and managing their grief in unique ways.

This wasn’t anything really new when it came to the story, but I enjoyed it overall.

I heard about THIRST TRAP by Gràinne O’Hare at the American Library Association conference this summer in Philadelphia.

I have been a woman possessed to read it, and was over the moon when NetGalley gave me access to an advance copy.

I couldn’t get enough of it. The characters (who are now so real to me) navigate their messy late 20s and early 30s, which are full of love, fun, disappointment, challenge, loss, betrayal, bad jobs, horrible housing.

The writing is lovely—I can’t wait to see what is next for this debut novelist.

It made me laugh so hard (who among us has NOT sustained a pole injury during a WHAM tribute?) and made me nostalgic to re-read Maeve Binchy’s CIRCLE OF FRIENDS, about a younger group of women negotiating some of the same tricky coming-of-age issues.

It’s book club gold, whatever the age of the reader! After reading, you’ll want to talk!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This was a great book about friendships and how they get us through the chaos of life. I sooo adore Harley, Róise, and Maggie and saw parts of myself and my own girlfriends in each one of them. I love their partying ways and their misadventures with hookups and the way they dread having to work. It is SO RELATABLE. I’m in my late 30s now but this took me back to my 20s. All of their personal struggles were entertaining and nostalgic but the way they come together for each other is truly heartwarming. Aw they approach their 30s hard decisions have to be made and there is nothing more relatable than that. Fantastically unique book for sure!

Review will be posted on Instagram and Amazon on pub day and links added to NetGalley.
