The Sunburst Pack certainly hasn’t had a moment’s peace since they discovered the larger plot to insert sleeper cells into their ranks. The end of the previous book set up the start of this one, with the introduction of Nadine, who prowled onto Sunburst land and was confronted with Connall, her mate.

Nadine is on the hunt for her father’s killer, who she believes is on Sunburst territory in the form of the twins. All of her plans are blow to shreds when she and Connall are attacked and poisoned. Oh, yeah, and the whole mate bond, which they both of course fight tooth and nail. All during this, we are along for the ride, trying to solve the mystery, identify who in the pack could be responsible (because it couldn’t be Connall) and maybe root for the romance.

There really wasn’t much time for romance in this one, but we have mystery and action a’plenty. I think I suspected everyone by the end and still got it all wrong. This poor pack and what’s waiting for the other packs now! While I was happy with how final the payoff was in Nadine’s story, this larger story is a long way from over. I enjoy that these can somewhat be read standalone but don’t have to wrap everything up.

CONALL is the third instalment in Margo Bond Collins contemporary, adult THE SUNBURST PACK paranormal, slightly sci-fi, romance series focusing on the members of the Sunburst Pack of wolf shifters. This is Nadine Torrance, and Conall Stewart’s story line. CONALL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is an ongoing premise throughout.

NOTE: THE SUNBURST PACK is a spin off from the author’s MOONSTONE PACK, both of which are only available at KOBO

Told from three omniscient third person perspectives (Nadine, Conall and Quinton) CONALL follows in the wake of incoming threats from an outside source. Nadine Torrance has been led to believe the Stewart Twins, Conall and Quinton, were responsible for the death of her father but Nadine never expected to find her fated mate in Conall Stewart. Conall is all about protecting the people he loves, and Nadine is threatening to take down everyone she believes is part of the Chimera organization including our story line hero but all is not as it appears to be as Conall and Nadine begin a deeper dive into the darkness that is consuming all of the wolf shifter packs, a darkness that has infiltrates the Sunburst Family.

The world building follows several paths including the strained relationship between Conall and his twin brother Quinton. Conall and Quinton have always worked together since they were young but the arrival of Nadine, and mating of our story line couple threatens Conall and Quinton’s brotherhood in the face of perceived betrayal, jealousy and sibling rivalry.

The relationship between Conall and Nadine begins acrimoniously as Nadine blames Conall and Quinton for the death of her father but as the reality of the situation reveals a more sinister betrayal, Nadine struggles with the building mating bond, with a man she believes could kill them all. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful , energetic and sometimes questionable secondary and supporting characters including the previous story lines couples, as well as Conall’s twin brother Quinton Stewart. Quinton’s story line is next.

CONALL is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, jealousy and rivalry, acceptance and love. The premise is detailed, complex and dramatic; the romance is limited but fated; the characters are desperate and determined.

"Don't make me choose between my mate and my twin."

This book had a ton of plot. If felt sometimes that I was reading an action adventure. You name it, and it's here: fighting, murders, conspiracies, spies, betrayal, secrets, chases, explosions, the list goes on and on.

I loved Nadine. What a kick-butt woman! She made Larissa look practically laid back and cuddly. She had skills even a SEAL would envy. And, she also had the ability to make me empathize and even feel sorry for her. Such an emotionally deficient childhood. She really needed someone to teach her about love, loyalty, and family.

The twins touched my heart. Conell was so torn between his life-long twin bond with his brother and the growing mate bond he was forming with his Nadine. Poor Quinton felt like he was losing his other half. While he didn't handle any of it well, he was reacting to what he perceived as rejection and betrayal.

I'm really looking forward to Quinton's book next. He deserves to find his own mate. I'm also hopeful Margo will spin off to another pack and keep these interconnected series going. There are still so many packs out there, waiting for their stories to be told.

this was a strong third entry in the Sunburst Pack series, it had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed from the previous two books. It had that element that I was wanting and enjoyed the fantasy element to this book, it use the concept perfectly and had that writing style that I was hoping for. Margo Bond Collins does an amazing job writing this and making characters that are believable and worked in the world.

Great shifter read. Lots of suspense. This is Conall’s story and how he meets his mate, or is she? His twin doesn’t think so!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you for allowing me to review
