A wonderful mystery. After her family was lost at sea, a young girl finds a friend in a local widow. It is well researched and I highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed this as a entry in the Cornwall world, it uses the historical element perfectly to tell the storyline and thought the use of 1863 was everything that I wanted and enjoyed in this world and characters. I was glad I got to read this and left me wanting more. J.H.Mann has a strong writing style and was glad it worked so well, I enjoyed the use of the true story and was glad it had that feel that I was looking for.
