"Last Day Pool Party" by Emma Steinkellner is a funny and emotional middle grade graphic novel about a bunch of recently graduated 8th graders who are dealing with different social situations: a best friend is moving away, another made fun of a classmate in a viral video, one is just looking to be noticed, and more. The characters are fun and felt realistic and the advice given is genuinely helpful. I loved the bright illustrations and the humor Steinkellner brought to this book. A must-buy for all middle grade graphic novel collections!
