A good introduction to both the process of archeology and the study of human evolution for young readers. Lots of good pictures and well defined text.

When I was in grade school, I always loved reading these quick nonfiction books. In my 29 years, I had never heard of Lucy the skeleton, so this was very informative. This showed in great detail the similarities between apes and humans. I was also happy to see that they left Lucy in a museum in Ethiopia.
Thank you to Netgalley, Trudy Becker, and Flux publishing for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest feedback.

Perfect composition of story for any of us ADHD/possibly a little dyslexic readers regardless of age! And a great intro to archaeology, too! There are lots of illustrations and photographs.
Well suited for reading alone or WITH someone of any age, including ESL, and great for gifting to everyone, but especially to a school, waiting room, or your local public library!
I requested and received a temporary uncorrected digital Galley on Thorium PDF from Flux | Apex via NetGalley. *****review #NetGalley #bookbub #goodreads #storygraph

A further look at this series that brings to young attentions the things we can celebrate the most about finding with relation to our past. This is the discovery of Lucy, an early hominin from what is now Ethiopia, and one of the missing links. There are details here I didn't know, for one, so it's certainly a winner as far as the lesson is concerned – but the delivery is still one I will always have issue with, as the main text is so basic and accessible, but the better details are in the captions and extra bits of text all over the shop. This bitty delivery means three and a half stars only.

This is another very good text for transitional readers, and includes short text passages that striving readers will be able to master. I really enjoyed reading about this fascinating historical and biological marvel, and think that young readers will be intrigued as well. The glossary and comprehension questions make this a great resource for classrooms. I recommend these books for schools and libraries.
