A very easily-read guide to the snake that probably attacks American humans more than any other, but the publisher lets this down. I just cannot get on board with the fact I learn so much more from the captions and other bites of information than the main text. Even if the main writing is aimed at reluctant readers, or those with dyslexia and other issues, they miss out on so much if that is what they limit themselves to.

This is a very good juvenile nonfiction text for transitional readers. It also works well for readers who have high comprehension skills and are striving readers in older grades. I learned some new facts about Copperhead snakes, and I think my 6 1/2 and 7 1/2 year old sons would enjoy these as well. I recommend this text for schools and libraries.
