Great!

Although this is just a sample of the book, I can tell that it is a great cookbook! The photos are stellar, the background stories and information are fascinating, and the Bible verses add a special touch. There is a great variety of recipes, and many of them are simple enough for the novice cook. Although this is a sample, I look forward to reading the entire book.

This book has some great sounding recipes that I can't wait to make once it becomes baking weather! I love how simple the instructions are and not all fluffed up like some cook books. The only thing I would like to see more of is pictures, personally I am a need to see what it looks like before I try it type of person.

I enjoyed this cookbook sample. The photos of Amish life were beautiful and inspiring. Scripture verses to start each section were a nice, uplifting addition. The recipes were very accessible, contained very little pre-made or over processed food products (which I really appreciated) and were things I could definitely make in my own kitchen. The breakfast recipes looked delicious - I'd love to see the rest of this cookbook!

The FASTEST I’ve ever gotten an arc and decided I’d be buying a physical copy.
This is such a cute cookbook, the quote at the start was so sweet.
The recipes are simple and sound delicious, it’s ingredients easy to get unlike some cookbooks I’ve seen that tend to go a more pretentious route.

What a delightful cookbook!! The illustrations are beautiful and the variety of recipes is amazing. This is more than just a cookbook. Two amazing Amish fiction authors, Mindy Steele and Anne Blackburn, add in insight about the Amish people. Not only are you getting some great recipes, you are also learning more about the Amish culture.

Reviewing the sample recipes in this book makes me want to make some of them. Easy to make and delicious recipes. You will not be disappointed.

First recipe is for granola that requires 20 cups of oats, that couldn’t be scaled down for users? I also am a bit weirded out that for a quiet, modest, and to themselves community, that this book has a blurb from a romance writer who “draws inspiration from her Amish neighbors”.

There are many yummy sounding recipes in The Heart Of The Amish Cookbook and I have tried a few of them already and they turned out delicious. I can’t wait to try more of the recipes.

This book would be worth purchasing for the photographs, with 180 recipes you are getting two books in one. The photographs are magnificent. The Amish do not allow their face to be photographed but the images of them from behind are powerful. Some of the photographs depict their farms; one picture shows a beautiful 3 story white home with snow covered fields, smoke coming out of the chimney and the sun peeking out of the clouds. There is a photograph of corn shocks in a field, in the background you can see a house, silo, barn and windmill; what a beautiful fall scene. There is a photo of the men cutting hay with a horse drawn mower, men in the field with pitchforks gathering the hay into small stacks; in the background you can see the tall stalks of corn as well as the house, barn and windmill. The Amish children work hard and play hard.
This book has 180 delicious recipes; this book is only a sample of what’s actually inside the book. The Morning Glory Muffins sound delicious with cinnamon, grated carrots, raisins, nuts, coconut, apple and wheat flour. The homemade Granola sounds healthy. I definitely want a piece of Walnut Wonder Coffee Cake. The Breakfast Tarts sound delicious filled with potatoes, bacon, and cheese. There is a recipe for Pancake Pizza that has it all: eggs, cheese, sausage gravy, bacon, served on a pancake with Maple Syrup. The Wreck is a breakfast dish popular at a local Amish restaurant. It has a biscuit with ham, bacon, or sausage, hash browns, pepper and onions, shredded cheese topped by Sausage Gravy.
I plan to try the recipe for Melt-In-Your-Mouth Biscuits soon as well as the Butterhorns. This book has delicious recipes and photos that will have you dreaming of visiting an Amish farm.

The topics name for each chapter are brilliant. The pictures are gorgeous. This was a sample reading so I wasn’t able to see the whole book but what I did see was fantastic. This is a book well worth getting and putting in a collection.

As someone who went to Pennsylvania and visited “Amish town,” I am very eager to create these recipes. These easy to follow and delicious looking recipes, are perfect for the whole family and will leave everyone giving you two thumbs up.

I absolutely adored the sample of this book. I was wowed by the recipes and the pictures that were included are spectacular. I cannot wait to try some of the recipes. I’m excited to see the complete book.
