This was another great title in the series. I enjoyed it even more because it took place in Paris so the familiar streets and sights added to the appeal.

'Montmartre Mysteries' by Jean-Pierre Alaux and Noël Balen with translation is the 8th book in the Winemaker Detective Mystery series. If you've read all the books up to this point, you know what to expect, and it's a pleasant diversion.

Benjamin Cooker is called in to take care of some vineyards in Montmartre for a charity. They are in pretty bad shape, and he has just the person to help out. While he's in the area, he visits a Arthur Solacroup, who owns a wine shop, only to find that Arthur was the victim of an attempted murder. The murder may not have been random, and may have to do with Arthur's past, which goes back to his days in the Foreign Legion.

The usual elements of these books are here: Virgile chasing romantic interests, some good meals and bottles of wine, and a little wine history of the region the book takes place in. The mysteries have varied in quality, but this one was better than most have been.
