“A Lady for All Seasons” is the latest novel by renowned author T.J. Alexander. Like his previous works, this queer romance is set in the same time and world as “A Gentleman’s Gentleman.” While the book can stand on its own, reading the earlier installment may enhance your experience.

This historical romance follows Verbena and her close social circle, which includes characters such as Étienne, Flora, William, Miles, and others. We reconnect with Verbena as she seeks a husband to secure her financial and social standing within the ton. She is depicted as a quick-witted and strategic woman determined to navigate the societal expectations around her. Additionally, we are introduced to new and artistic characters who challenge conventional norms regarding gender, orientation, and society.

I highly recommend this slow-burn romance, which explores themes of queer joy and chosen family, featuring feisty leads and cameos from Lord Byron. It serves as a fantastic follow-up to Alexander's previous book.. Thank you to Knopf, Pantheon, Vintage, Anchor / Vintage, and NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
