What an excellent installment of a classic series. I look forward to handing this to tiny babies and reading it to my niece!

As a mum of three kids, the Rainbow Fish series is one that I absolutely love sharing with my young children. It always shares the most important values, and in this particular books case it’s that words can hurt, and assuming the intentions of others can often lead to misunderstandings. I think that this is a fantastic way to reiterate these messages to kids and talk to them about how they treat others.

The imagery is beautiful as always, and I will definitely be purchasing this for my little ones.

The illustrations are gorgeous! This book brings the Rainbow Fish to a new audience in a short and sweet story. It seems just the right length for a board book story.

For an abbreviated version of the story, it was fine. But it felt too quick/abrupt. Also it might be scary for young kids thinking a whale is going to come try to eat them. Even though it was just hunting for krill. But the illustrations were beautiful as always.

“Rainbow Fish Makes Peace” by Marcus Pfister is a cute and short story. Do keep in mind this is a board book so the story is shortened. It may feel like there is information left out, but the kids didn’t care. They loved listening to story be read to them, and then turn around and read it to themselves. My kiddo’s love following along Rainbow Fish adventures in the sea!

** Thank you NetGalley, NorthSouth Books Inc., and Marcu Pfister for an eARC copy of “Rainbow Fish Makes Peace”.

This book was so cute! Definitely helps children learn the importance of bravery and compromise for peace instead of negativity.

For me, Rainbow Fish Makes Peace is told too hastily. The book is trying to convey an important message, but I don't like how the story unfolds. It follows a problematic course instead of offering an alternative when faced with misunderstanding others' intentions.

Loved the illustrations and the important accompanying message. This would make a great storytime book or inclusion for a animal or kindness themed display.

I couldn’t wait to read this, but it all happened so fast. As an adult of course we need more plot lol, it just started and was over. But the students should grasp this quickly and interpret this in any situation you may be using the book for. Overall a great way to teach children to not assume and ask questions first.

Thank you NetGalley and Marcus for letting me enjoy this story!

A sweet, simple story about being kind and empathetic to others. It uses the ocean food chain as a meaningful but accessible parallel to implicit social hierarchies; great for young readers at any stage!

Very interesting story and plot. The images in the book are very beautiful. And the story has a lot of meaning that resembles the world today. Very interesting cute book for kids.

A beautiful and colorful addition to the Rainbow Fish series, which shows that communication is important to understand others around you.

I loved this adaptation of Rainbow Fish. The colorful illustrations and glittery scales draw you in, while the simple storyline delivers a sweet message about kindness, understanding, and making peace. It’s short enough to hold even the youngest reader’s focus, but still delivers a sweet message about friendship and looking beyond first impressions.

Cute and beautiful images but there isn't a real story here. Not nearly as good as the original rainbow fish!

The illustrations in "Rainbow Fish Makes Peace" are beautifully drawn. It is understandable that the small fish in the story feel threatened and are scared by the large whale. However, the word "krill" is used often in this story. That isn't a word that most young children will understand without more explanation. The story teaches children a valuable lesson that the whale and the small fish can make peace. In nature, whales eat small fish to survive. While the intended message of the book is lovely, older children reading this book may find the premise's reality to be a stretch.

This was a perfect introduction into the importance of not judging too soon and how to communicate feelings. I think that this would be a perfect edition to any collection for children to teach mindfulness. The illustrations are stunning as I have come to love about all rainbow fish books.

Extremely and unexpectedly short book, so it felt kinda random and out of nowhere, but meaningful nevertheless. I like its lesson about being compassionate, not judging and not assuming to know what others are thinking.
