I loved this book! It was so much fun to read and the chemistry was absolutely spot-on. I was sad when it ended!

This book was so fun! It had the perfect amount of forced proximity, best friends brother and fake dating! I highly recommend!

This was such a fun rom-com!

Sarah and Brian are both very likeable characters, they are both relatable and face their own struggles. It was refreshing to see characters acting their own age and facing the struggles we all face on a daily basis. I also loved to see Brian's growth throughout the story and following Sarah's career, she is super passionate.

The tropes really spoke to me, that's exactly why I picked up this book. However, I did feel the enemies to lovers was more like a "Person I dislike a little bit to lovers". The enemies part could have been better. However, I really liked their banter though!

For me it was the perfect light and fun rom-com.

Thanks to Netgalley and Casey for trusting me with an advanced readers copy to write my honest opinion about.

Imagine it's your birthday, you are coming home from work and all you want is to have a nice evening with your boyfriend. But he proposed and after you declined he threw you out of the apartment and your best friend just promised her guest bedroom to your arch nemesis (aka her brother).
A banter-rich war breaks out between the two of them over who gets the bedroom. Be prepared for slow-burn with flirtatious rivalry, and fizzy humor.

I love, love, loved this book! The plot locked me in from page one, and spit me out a new person on the last page. The characters became real to me and will live in my brain forever. The setting was tangible and perfect. The pacing was riveting, but not rushed. All coming together to be a book I can't wait to recommend to my friends.

This book was such a fun and delightful read! I’ve always been a fan of the best friend’s brother trope, and this story delivered it in such a fresh and engaging way. The dynamic between the characters was playful, heartfelt, and full of tension in all the right places, which kept me invested from start to finish.

What really made this book stand out, though, was how many beloved tropes were seamlessly woven into the plot. There’s the “one bed” scenario (but not in the way you would think), fake dating to save face, a dash of “let’s make the ex jealous,” and plenty of moments that had me smiling, laughing, and rooting for the characters. Instead of feeling overdone, these tropes blended together perfectly, making the story feel cozy yet exciting.

The pacing was spot on, and I appreciated that the humor was balanced with heartfelt and emotional moments, giving the romance real depth. The chemistry between the main characters was undeniable, and I loved how their relationship developed naturally, with just the right amount of tension and sweetness.

Overall, this was exactly the kind of book I needed: lighthearted, charming, and full of tropey goodness. If you enjoy fun rom-coms with a mix of humor, heart, and classic romance setups done well, this is definitely one to add to your TBR list.

I absolutely flew through Get a Room by Casey Dembowski, and I have to say, it really delivered. The fun banter and incredible chemistry between Sarah and Brian made the book so much fun to read. I was hooked on their dynamic from the very beginning.

I was fully invested in both of their individual stories, too. I really enjoyed seeing Sarah’s dedication to her career and how passionate she was about it, it was really nice seeing her job being with kids and trying to bring them joy. I appreciated her dedication to helping them raise money and help people. Similarly, I loved watching Brian’s progression from being unemployed and feeling lost to finding his footing and building new friendships. Their relationship felt perfectly balanced, mixing sweet, cute moments with their sarcastic back-and-forth.

Jess was nice and thoughtful as well. Though her actions causing the 3rd act breakup was sad to see. But once she revealed how she felt hurt and replaced, I understood where she was coming from. It was nice to see her turn things around so quickly and become supportive of her friends again.

I had a good time reading this. The story was a fun and easy read, and the main characters were balanced, I don’t think there was any cringe worthy moments at all. Casey Dembowski is an author I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on from now on - I’ll check out her other books when I get the chance!

Sarah is kicked out by her boyfriend after she declines his proposal. She figures, she’ll just move back in with her best friend, Jess. But her best friend has recently offered Sarah’s old room to her older brother, Brian. Brian and Sarah hate each other. That’s just a fact. Or is it? When pranks and a revenge plot against Sarah’s ex have them seeing each other in a different light, they have to decide if a relationship together is worth risking the relationships they have with Jess. Jess, who is keeping secrets of her own.

This book was so cute, and not only did I adore these two, I LOLed multiple times as a former barista, and now want to visit Philly. Absolutely the best book to read while I was on vacation. Would recommend this to anyone looking for rivals to lovers, with a secret relationship from a sibling factor.

And many thanks to Net Galley, the publisher, and the author for sending me an ARC copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Get a Room is a fun, flirty, and heartfelt romance that puts a fresh spin on the enemies-to-lovers and forced proximity tropes. Brian and Sarah’s dynamic is equal parts snarky banter and undeniable chemistry, and watching their rivalry slowly transform into something deeper is as satisfying as it is swoony.

Casey Dembowski balances humor and heart with ease—between the pranks, wagers, and fake-dating hijinks, there are also tender moments of vulnerability that make both characters shine. While some of the setups feel a bit predictable, the warmth of the writing and the genuine growth in Brian and Sarah’s relationship more than make up for it.

Playful, romantic, and brimming with charm, Get a Room is a great pick for readers who love witty banter, found-family dynamics, and a slow-burn romance that delivers on both laughs and feels.

It was a cute romcom. I just don’t think the writing style was for me. I felt like the chemistry between characters was a little forced and instant. There was no yearning or courting.

The FMC’s personality was overall unlikable, she’s a selfish character. Although she does work for a nonprofit organization. She was immediately rude to the MMC (who was one of my fav characters). It didn’t even seem like enemies to lovers, it was more like bully to less of a bully.

The idea was cute and there were scenes I enjoyed reading about. Like Brian’s friends hanging out with him.

The end of the book was rushed and does leave you wanting more.

Such a fun read! Best Friend's brother is my favorite trope and the Character were so well written. Sarah had heart and gumption while also being independent and strong. Jess and Brian were fantastic brother sister duos with great archs all their own. The story itself was a little wonky at times but all in all a strong contemporary love story with a sweet happy ending.

I am admittedly a few books behind in my reading, but the title, description and cover made me move this to the top of my list. The premise is super cute and seemed like a good light-hearted read. It was, BUT there was more depth than I was expecting.

Sarah, fresh off a refused proposal to her seemingly perfect boyfriend, moves back in with her best friend Jess. Unbeknownst to her, Jess’ brother Brian moved in while she was gone. Brian also out of a bad relationship, between jobs and tired of living with his parents opts for living with his little sister instead. Sarah and Brian hate each other, but do they really?

Yeah, they don’t and they find out just how much they *don’t* hate each other. I really enjoyed that the MMC wasn’t super rich or even gainfully employed. Love happens in all circumstances and many romance books make it seem like the man has to be a billionaire and the woman stick thin and a 10. Average people find love every day and sometimes it’s nice to read about people just like you who find love in unexpected places.

I know some folks didn’t like Jess as a character, but I’ve met Jess’. Shoot I was friends with one for awhile. It did feel like Jess’ arc was rushed at the end though. The pacing was also stilted at times and rushed others, but I guess life is like that too sometimes.

I discovered at the end that Brian is introduced in another book and now I *have* to go read that one now. My brain and how much I enjoyed this one refuses to let me hit my TBR.

For those who need it:
Spice- 2/5
Enemies to lovers
Best friend’s brother
Loss of a relationship
Fake Dating
Forced proximity

Thanks to Casey Dembowski, Net Galley and Red Adept publishing for the opportunity to read and review this as an e-ARC. I look forward to more!

Quick, lighthearted read. The enemies-to-lovers trope wasn’t so much enemies to start; more like “stay away from best friend’s brother.” The build-up and chemistry between Sarah and Brian seemed rushed, but it was a mindless read and sometimes that’s all you need.

Best friends brother - rivals to lovers - banter and pranking tropes. Sadly did not connect for me and I DNF’d at 48%. I could see where the author was trying to go with it, but for me I found the characters childish and frustrating. Not so much chemistry as rivalry. Thank you NetGalley for the copy, but sadly not my cup of tea.

Such a sweet love story. Enemies to lovers, best friends brother off limits to together trope! I didn’t know about the other books so don’t think you need to read the first 2 to read this one. Brian Hawkins has lost his job and now living back at home however mom and dad are enjoying empty nesting. His sister has a room luckily since the roommate/best friend has moved in with her boyfriend. However, the first day Brian has moved in Sarah (best friend) is back. Sarah has been kicked out of her boyfriend’s house because the idiot proposed only after 2 months then throws a temper tantrum. No less on her birthday. I was so infested in these peoples lives. So very good. First time reading a Casey Dembowski and was not disappointed. LOVE!!
Book given to me early from NetGalley and Xpresso Book Tours.

I was hooked from the first page and was engaged with the characters during this book. It had that romantic comedy that I was looking for. It uses the concept perfectly and that the characters were everything that I wanted. I was glad it was so well written and wanted to read more from Casey Dembowski. I was invested in how Brian and Sarah were written and thought they worked as realistic characters.

Best friends brother and forced proximity? I was absolutely sat for this read. I loved it just like I loved the other books in the series. I loved the characters and really appreciate them being written in a way where they don't act like wild immature children. The whole thing was very cute and entertaining.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC!

This book was not too long but was really good. You have best friends brother romance, healing from past relationships and funny quips. What more from a romance do you need! There were so many cute moments and funny ones too! And I absolutely loved the ending!!!

Get a room is a RomCom featuring enemies to lovers tropes.

Sara and Brian lives-in with Brian's sister/Sarah's friend Jess, as Brian is hunting down new positions, whereas, Sara had a break up with the self obsessed, misogynistic excuse of a boyfriend, who dared to propose her on her birthday when she wasn't ready to move forward in her courtship.

The story progresses when Sara was looking up for a fake boyfriend on tinder to tag him along on the business gala, and Brian steps-in in order to help Sara, and here on their infatuation begins.

Sara/Brian had a treaty with jess that either won't date the brother/best friend. The story revolves how they resolves the treaty on good note.

This book was more of a best friend's brother or a single bed trope with loads of banters rather than the enemies to lovers tropes. As Brian and Sara had to fight their right to get the guestroom.

İ didn't quite enjoyed the book as i expected to, and Jess was hella annoying who was self obsessed. She literally blamed Sara for hiding her relationship with Brian where they were kinda trying to find a mutual ground to share the news with Jess, where as Jess overlooked a couple of friendship rules herself but wasn't even considerate about the facts.
