Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the early access to this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

First of all, this book's cover is absolutely beautiful! I was literally drawn to it like a moth to a flame.

I fear that I may have jumped in the middle of an entire world that I'm unfamiliar with as this is first book I've read from K.M. Moronova. As I started reading, I felt like I might not have all the necessary world-building beforehand and that kind of messed with me a bit. Nonetheless, it was still easy to read and pick up on with the given context. I'm not normally into dark romances either, but this was certainly intriguing with the military based storyline. It was also fairly fast-paced as far as how quickly the main characters develop their relationship. There is a good amount of spice as well for those who are interested - and it doesn't feel like it's too much either.

3.5/5 stars.

If K.M. Moronova writes it, I NEED to read it ๐Ÿ˜ญ

The amount of emotional damage sustained via her books is astronomical and I am HERE for it! Thank you so much K.M. Moronova , Bloom Books and NetGalley for allowing me to read this in advance! I will be submitted my therapy bill directly ๐Ÿ˜‚

First off, who doesn't love TWO unhinged MC.๐Ÿ˜

Emery the FMC is recruited from jail to attend the Under; compete in the Under Trials to see if she will be a suitable partner for Mori within the Dark Forces. Before her incarceration , she was an heir to a wealthy family but her role was to dispatch threats. Her weakness? She can't help but want to mend broken things...

Cameron the MMC is a ruthless asset to the Fury squad and for the life of him, cannot not kill his partnersz. His trauma is SO potent. He thrives and enjoys being a long but craves to be "special"... and did I mention he is completely unhinged?

Emery and Cameron have so many similarities, which there chemistry is inevitable. The torment, the trauma has you suckered in. The plot carried along so well and I just binged this book like it was my last day on earth ๐Ÿ˜‚

Highly highly recommend this book BUT as always be mindful of your triggers ๐Ÿค

I don't even know what to think right now. As always, I'm at a loss of total words, because they will never be enough to describe the absolute masterpiece that KM writes

This was so far beyond anything I could have imagined the first installment of this duet to be. So gritty and ruthless and that tug of your heart to want to fix broken things. I can't even begin to imagine how this will continue.

Cam is the broken boy you love to fix. And Em is everything he's ever needed. Someone to care for him. To Em he is so much more than the monster he thinks himself and she sees thru him and the pain he refuses to see he has.

I can't with this ending and I won't breatheeeee till I know how it all ends

YOUR KNIFE, MY HEART - @k.m.moronova
OUT 11th November!

Thank you @netgalley and @k.m.moronova for this advanced readers copy. The way I demolished this book is unhinged. Utter brilliance.

The early moments of the prologue of this book really set the tone for me. Only a few pages when my jaw hit the floor and I was giddy. I knew immediately that this book was going to be incredibly written.

It is a suspenseful dark military bully romance, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, he might kill her, touch her and die, unhinged psychotic, the special ops squads that don't exist, a trials/arena style setup that had me kicking my feet.

I read out some of my favourite scenes during this book to my husband. Where I hoped that he would join me in my swoony giggles, yet his only response was concern that I might actually be a psychopath. And maybe I am because I absolutely devoured this book, blood, violence, and unhinged nature galore.

It is dark, ruthless, gruesome, and stripped raw in the most perfect way. The portrayal of such vulnerability and trauma with a fierce authenticity showcasing a shattering mind and soul. Every moment of suspense built up to perfection. Fire, and ice cycled on repeat, until my heart was shattering.

Two monsters forced together with the promise of tearing each other apart. Mori might be one of my favourite darker MCs of all time. The platinum hair, the English accent, loves to read and tear people's throats out with his teeth. What a combination. I'm weak at the knees for a man who uses the word love as a nickname especially while spewing unhinged dark vitriol. And what makes Mori even more intoxicating is Emery. Our pink haired executioner. I love an underestimated, sharp mouth, lethal female character. She is exactly the perfect catalyst for Mori. Two monsters perfectly alike. Watching these two meld into each other felt like poetry, a guaranteed tragedy I was desperate to watch unfold.

Thank the Lords that Book two isn't far behind this one because I don't think I'll survive long with that ending

Thank you NetGalley for sharing an arc with me in return for my honest opinion. My Knife, Your Heart by KM Moronova
I thought Iโ€™d dip my toe in the murky waters of dark romanceโ€ฆ turns out I cannonballed straight in and Iโ€™m never coming up for air.

Cameron is peak bad boy - the kind we all secretly want to โ€˜fixโ€™. Heโ€™s broken in the most compelling way, and only Emery can break through his walls. This story dives deep into the ache of abandonment trauma, how it twists into pushing people away, yet desperately craving to be seen, valued, special.

This one isnโ€™t just going to stick with me, itโ€™s going to live rent free in my head for a long time. Especially with THAT ending - I NEED to know what happens next!

I canโ€™t help myself. I am a sucker for these dark forces stories. I really enjoyed Emeryโ€™s growth and enjoyed seeing her confidence blossom. I did find myself wanting more from her at the start, more assurance in her abilities against Mori, but then weโ€™re shown why Mori is so dangerous and itโ€™s just perfection. Sometimes weโ€™re told a character is dangerous, with no real examples, but I found Camโ€™s character so well thought out and demonstrated.

I adore everything Iโ€™ve read by K.M Moronova and this was no exception. There are moments where youโ€™re pulled into a false sense of security (i.e that this story isnโ€™t so dark and emotive) and then bam, weโ€™re hit with heartbreak. I really enjoyed this endingโ€ฆ it wasnโ€™t expected at all. Iโ€™ll be setting ALL the alarms for book 2โ€™s release date!!

Thank you so much to #NetGalley and #KMMoronova for allowing me to read this ARC. I devoured it in 24 hours!

I am speechless. in awe. I was NOT expecting this ending, not at all. I think I just screamed WHAT THE FUCK for about 10 minutes and realized how long I have to wait for the next one and I am not going to be okay until then

Your Knife, MY HEART ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’”

โ€œYour knife yearned for my heart, just as you promised it would.โ€

K.M. Moronova has done it again. This is another book from her Dark Forces world and it completely left me destroyed. I 100% stayed up to 3am to finishing reading this, it was soooo good!

If there is one thing that K.M. Moronova will always do right is write the most deranged, chaotic, heartbreakingly loveable mmc. Cameron has a habit of killing every one of his partners, enter Emery who is he chance to not kill a partner. The banter and tension between these two, oof *chefkiss*.

Thank you to Bloom Books, NetGalley and K.M. Moronova for an arc!

- forced proximity
- dark military romance
- โ€œI Can Fix Him (no really, she can)โ€
- addiction representation
- trauma
- (forced and reluctant) allies to lovers (with some enemy feelings)

This was my first KM Morovona read and I was enthralled. It was a pretty short read, but packed full of sex, death, and dare I say yearning?

Emery is an executioner, trained from childhood to kill her targets with no mercy. Cameron is a super soldier, medicated to hell and trained to stay alive no matter the consequences. The cliffhanger, while somewhat predictable, has grabbed me and I will be reading the sequel no matter what!

Sometimes it felt like things were missing, such as bigger (and more from other characters) reactions to events in the plot, but honestly it contributes to the experience of Emery and Cameron of becoming killing machines.

Mori, called her love exactly 16 times in this book (correct me if Iโ€™m wrong) & I melted every single time. The little details in this book from their names to their personalities is everything. Mori is everything you want in an unhinged MMC & honestly I kept envisioning Kakashi. ๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿผ (IYKYK) from chapter 1, he immediately captures your attention. I want to be Emery, when I grow up. A badas$ chica who is quick with her mouth. The way she handles Mori had me screaming.
As a military veteran, Emeryโ€™s time in training had me cracking up. The way this book ended was criminal, & I need book 2 like I need to breathe.

This book is brutal and bloody, but also intoxicating and tender in the most unsuspecting ways. The banter? Sharp enough to draw bloodโ€”but sinful enough to make you beg for more. The tension? Addictive. The pacing? Relentless.

If you loved Nell and Bradshaw in ๐™‡๐™š๐™–๐™ซ๐™š ๐™ˆ๐™š ๐˜ฝ๐™š๐™๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™™, just wait until you meet Emery and Cameron.

Cameron is chaos personifiedโ€”dangerous, magnetic, and teetering on the line between unhinged and psychotic. Emery is his perfect foil: forged in violence, calculating, brave, and exactly the kind of challenge that could tempt a man whoโ€™s notorious for leaving a trail of bodies behind.

Being back in the Dark Forces universe felt like coming home to carnage, and I loved every second of it. The kind of book that makes you question your sanity, because yesโ€”it had me kicking my feet. That cliffhanger? It carved me open, and now Iโ€™m desperate for book two ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Arc review:
I devoured this book in one sitting and am already desperate for book two!
Military romance isn't usually my thing, but Cam and Em completely won me over. They're both such broken, complex characters, yet they find solace and strength in each other in the most unexpected ways.
If you're expecting just one morally gray character think again.
Both Cam and Em blur the lines between right and wrong, and it makes their dynamic all the more intense. Em, in particular, stands out. Despite the odds stacked against her, her will to survive is unshakable.
The trials they face test not just Em, but Cam as well. Their bond is dangerous, addictive, and impossible to look away from. I knew there'd be a cliffhanger but I wasn't ready for that!
Now I'm left reeling and counting down the days until the next book. This story has its hooks in me, and I can't wait to see what happens next!

Tropes:
Forced proximity
Military romance
One bed
Morally grey MMC
Dual POV

I loved Leave Me Behind, so I was excited to dive into another Dark Forces book. Unfortunately, this one didnโ€™t quite hit the mark for me.

Did I devour it in a day? Yes. Did I love Cam? Also yes. But the storyline just didnโ€™t land the way I hoped it would (there was just so much going on.) I also didnโ€™t care much for Emโ€ฆthere were so many moments where I found myself wondering how she could have ever been an executioner.

Still, it was a solid read, just not my favorite.

This is my first book by this author. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. The characters both had their own personalities, and I was curious to find out more about their backgrounds. There was also great tension between the characters! I'm looking forward to book 2 later this year! And I will definitely read more books by this author.

Thank you to Netgalley for this ARC!

Okay, I love love love everything about this book, apart from the ending. The cliffhanger didn't work for me, because it's one of my most hated ways a writer can supply an obstacle. So, because of this, I gave it 3 stars instead of the 5 it deserves.

This book is in duo POV and is told through Em and Cameron (aka Mori). Our girlie Em is instantly attracted to Cameron when she meets him. I loved their interactions and both their trauma and how they slowly grow together.

My only points of contention are that I would have loved for Em to stand a bit more on her own during the trials; it would have been lovely if we'd seen Em more in the thick of the action without the constant protection of Cam.And of course, the endingโ€”I really did not enjoy the way it ended; it felt like a very clichรฉ cliffhanger to end on.

Thank you, K.M. Moronova and NetGalley, for the ARC.

First and foremost, Iโ€™ve found my new favorite morally pitch black book boyfriend.

I really enjoyed this story line and I liked the tiny Easter Eggs we got for Leave Me Behind. I love the FMC, Emery. I like her rebellious and badass attitude. She also has a heart even though sheโ€™s surrounded by some of the craziest people alive.
As four our MMC, Cameron is probably one of my new favorite morally pitch black characters. The way he was written was done so well that I felt so much anger, sympathy, and despair when learning more about him. It made me feel like I was in Emeryโ€™s shoes for a second.

The landscape and visualization of scenery was also really well written. I liked how I could really visualize where they were, & what it possibly felt like in that scene based solely on descriptions.

Donโ€™t get me started on the cliffhanger ๐Ÿ˜…
Iโ€™m already ready for My Blade, Your Back!

Sitting here screaming into the void that I need the next book, the way it ended?! Full crash out. The yearning between these two, the guilt that crushes Cam? The way Em just wants him to see she's not just another person to destroy him without remorse? Book 2 is going to be a wild ride and I'm ready to strap in and begin the assent. The banter had me kicking my feet and giggling the entire time, reading like a fiend. The spice?! Let's just say that no one quite hits the trifecta of spice, banter and yearning like THE Mrs. Moronova ๐Ÿ‘‘ Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to ARC for this book, OBSESSED is an understatement!

*Your Knife, My Heart* by K.M. Moronova is set in the same brutal and addictive world of the Dark Forces as Leave Me Behind๐Ÿ–ค. I was beyond excited to read it and man, it did not disappoint! I couldn't put it down own, making it yet another one of K.M. Moronova's books added to my favorites shelf. Her poetic, dark writing is brilliant and keeps me hooked until the end, then staring at a wall, wanting for more.

This book lets us readers into the selection, training and trails of the Dark Forces soldiers. The main characters are both troubled, unstable and brutal in their own way but bring out the light in each others darkness and it's so, so beautiful. Cameron "Mori" is a platinum blond (!!!) emotionless killing machine. Experimental drugs for the Dark Forces have thoroughly messed with his mind. Emery is thrown into the twisted, brutal world of the Under and tied to Cameron as she figures out how truly ruthless it is. He's her only safe place and her greatest threat. She sees beauty in all his broken pieces. Their connection is messy and unique in a world that is full of backstabbing and deceit. There's forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers romance, action, violence and spice. It's written with dual POV and there were so many lines that stuck with me. The story leaves off on a huge cliffhanger and I need book two immediately!

Thank you K.M. Moronova, Bloom Books and NetGalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for my honest opinion๐Ÿ–ค

Surviving Leave Me Behind was already a miracleโ€ฆ and then K.M.Moronova hits us with that final sentence in this book. Officially in my staring-at-the-wall era.

Cameron is lethal, unpredictable, and clinically insane, yet the Dark Forces still call him an asset. An experimental drug shattered his control, and now heโ€™s back in the brutal Under Trials with one ruleโ€”donโ€™t kill his new partner.

Emery escaped one death sentence only to land in another. Surviving the Trials is hard enough, but surviving Cameron might be harder. Beneath his violence lies a dangerous tenderness she canโ€™t ignore.

Their bond is intoxicating and deadly and it might be the only thing keeping them alive.

-dark military romance
-reluctant allies to lovers
-dual pov
-deadly trials
-mental health / addiction rep
-๐Ÿ’‹ or ๐Ÿ’€ each other

Now to figure out how Iโ€™m supposed to cope until book 2 drops.

WHAT. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. The gasp that flew out of my mouth at the last sentence. I had to go back and re-read it again. That was NOT how I was expecting it to go AT ALL. Iโ€™m sat and cannot wait for the second book of the Dark Forces Duet.

Let me just say, I did read Leave Me Behind, so I did have some knowledge on the Dark Forces world. However, Your Knife, My Heart was FAR superior than Leave Me Behind. I love the tension, yearning, more background knowledge on the dark forces.

Cameron has been on the dark forces for seven years, but he keeps killing his partners. Enter, Emery who is due to be his next partner and Cameronโ€™s only objective is to NOT kill her during boot camp. I really enjoyed getting to see the dark forces boot camp along with the trials they face. Also, some of the friendships along with enemies they make. I truly had a blast reading.

Thank you Bloom Books for an e-arc!
