I loved this book. I couldn’t put it down, I read it one sitting.
Cameron, an elite soldier, is perfect at his job except he has one small problem, he keeps killing his partners. Emery, an infamous assassin, is turned on and picked up by Dark Forces for her…talents. She is forced to partner up with a man who is known to kill all of his partners. Her task? Don’t get kill, and most certainly don’t find the deranged, hot man attractive. His task? Don’t kill his new attractive, breakable looking partner and return to his unit.
I loved Cameron and Emery, their banter, their relationship growth, it was really everything. I rated it 4.75 only because I wish I got to hear a little more about Cameron’s background, I felt like there was a still a little bit missing as to ‘why’ he was the way that he was but overall this was great. Obviously, please check your TW but this might be one of my new favorite dark romances, and I highly recommend checking it out.
Thank you to Bloom Books and Netgalley for the ARC. I cannot wait to get my hands on a physical copy.

Absolutely loved this book, truly enjoyed Emery and Cameron’s story. Emery is a badass in her own right which immediately captures Cameron’s attention. Whilst Cameron is death personified he’s struggling with his sanity, so when paired with Emery it was an intense and interesting time to say the least. Also enjoyed seeing more of the inner workings of the Dark Forces.

I wanted to read this book because I was drawn in by the cover. It is the first book from this author that I have read. I liked the book, but it didn't quite hit 100% for me. It was really giving the vibe of a Joker/Harley Quinn romance, which wasn't quite my thing. I do love the trial aspect of the book and actually wish it had more of the military portion. I liked Cameron, our male lead, and found his backstory and character growth interesting. I think Emery could could have been stronger standing on her own given her backstory that led to her being recruited for the Dark Forces. I definitely liked it enough to read the next book and recommend it to others. I actually didn't expect the twist at the end.

5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is so, so good! I’m not exaggerating when I say I couldn’t put it down I read it in one 4 hour sitting.
I loved the romance between Cameron and Emery, I really want those two monsters to be happy together. I started out thinking only Cameron was completely unhinged, as he was trying to overcome his addiction to killing anyone he is partnered with but once the trials started and Emery got to show her murder-y side this got really fun. The banter between them was perfection.
I really enjoyed this spicy dark romance, but I do think it is criminal to leave readers with a cliffhanger like that 😩! This is one for Brynne Weaver fans, it’s murder romance with a touch of dark humour and it’s fantastic.

I have got to say K.M. is really killing her readers for the cliffhanging endings in her new books.
This book is set is somewhat related world as Leave Me Behind, but different squads and things to do. This one involves Cameron, who always kills his partner, and Emery, who is the daughter of a known family and kills for her dad's wants.
I have so many fcking questions, as to the pills and the injection and what will happen to Cam and Em. But ultimately, I hated Nolan in this book. I hate what he do to Cam and what he wants to achieve by using Cam as a guinea pig in his experiment.
AND!! The ending?! KM WHAT?!!! Why stop that way 😭.
Also, idk if it's just me but I hope the Malum squad would make it's appearance when the Fury squad put Cam and Em in a mission.

Thank you NetGalley and publishing for this adcanced copy.
Book Review: Your Knife, My Heart by K.M. Moronova
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5 stars)
I received this book as an advanced copy for an honest review. Your Knife, My Heart is a dark, emotionally charged read that doesn’t hold back. It drags its characters—and readers—through a brutal, relentless ride.
What stood out most to me was Cameron’s inner torment. His struggles felt painfully real, and I found myself empathizing with him more than I expected. He’s constantly walking a razor’s edge, fighting violent instincts while trying to protect Emery. I was rooting for him—not necessarily to become a “better” person, but to start choosing himself. It’s a dark romance, after all.
Emery was compelling in a very different way. I admired that she stood her ground and didn’t soften herself just to survive. When faced with life-threatening danger, she still didn’t back down. She learned from her mistakes and accepted that not everything she wanted was within reach, yet still pushed forward with grit and determination.
The emotional and physical intensity in this book is unrelenting. I definitely needed a palate cleanser after finishing—it’s the kind of story that stays with you.

I don't know what crack KM Moronova puts in her stories but she has me addicted from page one. The story has me instantly curious about the characters - their pasts, how the FMC and MMC's relationship will unfold, and how the story will progress (I've learnt that I cannot predict this).
As always, the balance between plot and spice is just superb. The pacing was perfect - not too slow that I lost interest and not too fast that I was left confused. What I love most about K's writing is that her MMCs are as brutal and (borderline?) insane, but they have the softest spots for their FMC. And don't get me started on the fact that they blush all the time - ugh, my heart 🥰
Going into Your Knife, My Heart knowing Cameron will be fighting the urge to kill Emery had me on the edge of my seat the entire read. And that cliff hanger, I'm so glad it's a short wait until book two!

Dark. Twisted. Beautiful. RUINING MY LIFE.
Cameron and Emery consumed me, chewed me up, and left me hanging off that cliff. Like the cliffhanger from Between the Lions "I CAN'T HOLD ON MUCH LONGER!"
Mori's battle with himself is brutal, Emery's fight for freedom is heartbreaking, and together they're bloody, romantic, and unforgettable.
K.M Moronova is a master at crafting a perfect blend of brutality and vulnerability.
Please ma'am may I have some more?

Pink haired FMC as a mafia killer turned Dark Forces potential candidate meets the partner murdering experiment of the dark forces.
Her job survive him.
His job allow her to survive.
This book has me trying to figure out ways to sneak in reading throughout every moment and had me begging for more time to read.
I did not want to put it down.
The desire and hatred between the FMC and MMC are pulled me continually back into the story.
Look I even read during church.

Oh. My. God
KM Moronova is easily the best dark military romance author EVER. It was so good. No notes. I will not take any slander on this book! I will say it's less f'ed up than Leave Me Behind but still equally as binge able and amazing!
Thank you for the ARC 🥹🫶🏻

I absolutely loved the premise for this book and was hook from the very first page. And the ending, was not expecting that!
Cameron completely fit the dark and twisted vibes. His struggles with his past, self-worth, and the pills was heartbreaking. His POV was absolutely key for seeing his internal struggles and how he was fighting himself on the drugs and his attraction to Emery.
Emery’s character was a bit more of a struggle for me. I still liked her overall but at times I felt like the way she acted was a bit too soft and didn’t quite jive with her upbringing and occupation prior to the DF. I also would have liked it if she was able to embrace her “artistic” streak a bit more while in the Under or trials. I think it would have gone a long way to showing her darker side (beyond just telling us) and how she and Cameron mesh. Anyways, I still loved the two of them together, this is just what would have pushed it to the next level for me.

Holy cow this was fantastic! It checked all my boxes with its forced proximity, enemies to lovers, and a white haired MMC! I could not get enough of Cameron and Emery. We love a good touch her and die psycho MMC. Camerons complex tortured soul has solidified himself a spot on the book boyfriend list for sure. The tension and action throughout the whole book was spot on I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. A great dark military romance. I am absolutely hooked and cannot believe that cliff hanger! I need the next book right now!
Thank you to Netgalley for providing this ARC.

I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars! (Not because of the diablocical cliffhanger🤨) The way you can feel every emotion coming off the pages is addicting. Please check your triggers and fasten your seatbelts for the ride this book will take you on.

🖤 Dark military romance
🖤 Spicy spice 🥵
🖤 Morally grey/black characters
🖤 Extremely lethal protective MMC
🖤 Forced proximity
🖤 He's a ten, but he might kill her
This is like a 100 out of 10...
Like always @K.M. Moronova does a beautiful job of pulling you so completely into her world that you live and breathe it. She had me riding every emotional high and heartbreaking low Cam and Em experienced until I was left shattered yet desperately craving more.
Trust me when I say that when it’s over, you’ll be DEVASTATED that it is. Personally, I thought I was juked and that my book MUST be missing pages, lol... Talk about a craze-inducing inducing cliffhanger 🖤

I will alway read and recommend this authors books. I can never put them down. I absolutely loved this one. We get to meet Emery and Cameron on their journey in the dark forces. I love that we get to see what exactly it takes to belong in the dark forces.
He’s always killed his partners and she is no exception. Or maybe she is. Will he be able to change who he is and keep her safe? Or will she find herself under his knife?
Beware of cliffhanger ending

“I’m going to kill you, isn’t it obvious?”
The way I have been screaming about this book. I think this is my book of the year. I immediately fell in love with cam and emery. They both have been mistreated so cruelly, forced to be hardened versions of themselves. Cameron has spent 7 years in the dark forces, with an issue they are having trouble managing. Emery is brought in after her recent incarceration to see if she can withstand Cameron’s issues. Little does she know she’s going to be faced with far more than she could have ever expected. No one can be trusted, everyone is out for themselves in the cut throat training program for the dark forces elite squads. No spoilers but the heartbreaking story for these two is so beautifully written, so deeply captivating that you can’t put it down, and so intense it felt like a movie I was watching in my mind. KM has completely blown me away with this, and after once upon a demons heart I didn’t think that was possible but the woman is turning out back to back bangers! I actually CANNOT wait for the next book, I need to know what’s next for these two. Trust me , you will regret it if you sleep on this book.
“Fondness is the death of the foolish.”
“Your knife yearned for my heart, just as you promised it would.”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️🌶️.5

Once again, the author pulled me from reality and planted me in a gritty underground dark force military operation.
Emery is removed from one horrible fate and set before another. She’s not sure what to fear more, the life threatening trials she has to face, or her unpredictable and deadly partner, Cameron.
K. M. Moronova writes DEEPLY wounded mc’s like no other.
Their back story’s had me welling up with tears.
These characters are intense.
They’ve witnessed and participated in dark acts as a means of survival.
I consumed this book in two sittings.
Once you’re locked in, it’s so hard to put down or think about anything else.
I NEED MORE EM AND CAM.
I am deeply invested in what happens next.

I think this author just isn’t for me. The writing itself is solid, but this book felt very similar to the last one I read from her, and I struggled to really connect with it. The MMC is a trained killer in the military who keeps losing partners because he kills them, so he’s paired with the FMC—a woman who’s been trained as a killer since childhood—to see if she’ll survive him. While the premise is interesting, it ended up feeling repetitive, and I couldn’t fully engage with the story.
This seems to be a theme with the two books I’ve read from her, so it didn’t feel particularly unique. That said, I’m also hovering on the edge of a book slump, which definitely influenced my reading experience. Fans of dark, violent romances may find more to love here, but ultimately this one just wasn’t the right fit for me.

This book was unhinged I tell you. Cameron is beyond morally gray and right into the blackest of black you can get. This is like if Hunger Games and Battle Royale had a military baby. If Leave Me Behind was anywhere near as good as this book, I understand the hype for it.

I’ve read a bunch of Moronovas stuff and this book was pretty good but certainly not my favorite. The story was really good but I felt like some spots were kinda dragged out a bit, which normally her books suck me in and I can’t put them down. The cliffhanger was good but I think the hype up for this book had me expecting something way more insane. I’ll definitely be reading the next book because I am looking forward to what happens next, but I hope it’s a bit more exciting than this first one! 3/5 ⭐️
