I adore K.M. Moronova books so when this became available, I jumped at the opportunity to read Your Knife, My Heart. And of course she delivered an amazing book once again. I was hooked from the prologue and knew I was going to adore Cameron. He is dark, gritty and dangerous but under all that is a boy that just wants to be accepted. I cannot wait for the next book and know it’s going to be just as amazing.

K.M. Moronova, you did it again! Leave Me Behind had me in a chokehold I didn’t know I needed for the Dark Forces series, and Your Knife, My Heart somehow took it even further. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book.

First off. Cameron. 🥵 He’s the ultimate red flag wrapped in green flag habits. (He braids her hair… if you know, you know 👀).

From start to finish, Your Knife, My Heart keeps you on edge. You never know if Cameron will be hot or cold, or what sinister plans the Dark Forces are hiding. The ending? Absolutely gut-wrenching and heartbreaking.

I loved getting more insight into the Dark Forces world; how cadets are chosen (or eliminated) added so much depth and intensity. There’s so much to unpack here, not just with the world building but with the characters themselves. Need book two ASAP.

What?? No no no no. Idk how to wait for book two. I’m obsessed with Cam and Emory. The way he is literally ONLY soft for her and barely even her… makes your whole heart melt. I can’t wait to hear what happens next in this duet.

The tension and yearning made me feral in this. Cameron is a platinum blonde psychopath and he is darkkkk but so yummy at the same time. There were many twists and turns and you never know what is going to come up next which made this so enjoyable. I was hooked from the first page and read this is one sitting.

Right out the gate this book grabs you! You feel what she is going through, the emotions! This book is one I couldn’t put down.

When I tell you I inhaled this book, I sure did. I read the entire thing in almost one sitting, I just couldn’t put it down! From the very get go, I was head over heels for both the FMC & MMC. The immediate tension was THICK…. The way they were thrown together was just perfection. Whilst Emery was fighting to find her own way in the dark forces, Cam knew his place, but now thrust together, they both come to realise his place is beside her.

She is my morphine, and without her, I’m nothing more than an aimless monster.

The connection they build is phenomenal, and beautiful. They are exactly what the other needs, before they even knew it. Together, they are a team, and could heal one another just by being together. They are perfection. Their chemistry is evident, and I absolutely adored them. And the spice was TOP TIER!! 🥵🥵

Cam is the perfect MMC, beautifully broken. But a fierce weapon with the dark forces, but somehow Emery penetrated through his hard exterior and proved, he had a beating heart within him. I am emotionally unwell. I have a love/hate relationship with ARCs because not only do I have to wait for the release of this absolute banger, but I’m foaming at the mouth for the continuation of Cam and Em’s story!!
I love Moronova's ability to give us an actual suspenseful plot with the unhinged dark romance the fans want. I was hooked with Leave Me Behind, the first book in the Dark series, and now I am absolutely an addict, anxiously awaiting my next fix to drop!

And K.M. Moronova did it again, this time with a bang! I knew the moment this book was announced that it would not disappoint, but wow, I was not ready for what was inside.

It is dark, raw, twisted, emotional, and absolutely impossible to put down. Now I am left desperate for more.

Almost from the first chapters I knew this story was going to destroy me. I felt it under my skin, the kind of thrilling goosebumps you just cannot shake, and I was so right.

Two broken souls find each other in the worst scenario possible. It is the messiest romance I have ever read and I mean that in the best, most addictive way.

Cameron is completely unhinged, dangerous, unstable, a beautifully twisted psychopath you cannot stay away from. Emery, his pink haired match, is just as unhinged in her own way, broken and betrayed, but still vulnerable and deeply caring. Together, their chemistry is unmatched and impossible not to love.

I adored Leave Me Behind but Your Knife, My Heart is on another level. The darkness in this book is sharp and intoxicating, pulling you deeper with every page. Set in the same world, it gives us a bigger glimpse into the Dark Forces and how someone gets pulled into their ranks.

The ruthless trials were so vividly written I felt like I was there. And the side characters made me feel everything from hate to pity to admiration. I would happily read entire books just about some of them.

And that ending… I am not okay. I will not be okay until book two is in my hands. Until then, I will be thinking about this book nonstop and screaming about it from every corner.

This was so good. I ate it up and kicked the goddamn plate. I love these dark forces books so much. I love seeing more of this messed up underground world and how the forces in the first book got to be where they are by going through the training process with these two. Cameron is such a perfect mix of broken and emery just wants to fix broken things.

I’m going to be sitting in a dark room in the silence until the next book.

I read this in two days and let me tell you the book was perfect. The banter Cam and Emery had was top tier. The way they were both hot and cold hit all the right spots! The violence, the spice, and the character development all of it was amazing. The ending has me speechless. K.M. has truly done it again. I cannot wait to find out what the next book has to hold. If you are looking for an author that'll never fail at leaving you longing for more K.M. is definitely one to do that!

First and foremost, a huge round of applause to K.M. Moronova for doing it again! She's delivered yet another gripping, addictive story that had me completely hooked! I couldn't put it down and ended up reading straight through until 2 a.m. Her talent truly knows no bounds. Every time I think she's outdone herself, she raises the bar even higher. Absolutely amazing!

This story is chaos and beauty tangled together, just like Emery and Cameron. They clash, they burn and somehow, they hold. They're too different to make sense, but too alike to let go. It's not clean. It's not easy. But it's real. And in the middle of all the noise, they find something that feels a lot like home. Also the subtle mentions to the dark forces underworld, with familiar names from LMB gave it a nostalgic edge that made me miss

The pacing never slows down! From the intense training & pressure in the "Under" to the Trials that pushes them even harder, & the risks keep climbing, and the tension feels almost suffocating. Emery's cleverness and instincts kept me glued to the page, but it was Cameron's hidden cracks beneath all the violence that really stuck with me.

Overall this book had me on the edge of my seat and deep in my feelings (no surprise there, it's K.M's writing after all!) And that ending? That cliffhanger?! Let's just say I full-on screamed into my pillow. I need the next book immediately!! Waiting is going to be pure torture lol.

Oh my god. This was everything and more. I can’t wait for book 2. KM did it again yall. I don’t know how I’m gonna survived till book 2 gets here. Love love love the chemistry between the hero and the heroine, their physical attraction to witness unfold makes me swoon. The drama, action, and romance is overall balanced. So sad it’s over now because I’m in a slump!

HOW CAN YOU DO THIS TO US KM MORONOVA! I trusted you, and you took that trust and destroyed me! I knew this book was going to absolute crush me. I could feel it in my bones.

I loved “Leave Me Behind” but I think “Your Knife, My Back” was 15X better! This had me so incredibly tense through the entire novel. KM has the most exquisite writing style. From the very first chapter you are hooked. You get so incredibly attached to her characters that whatever happens to them in the novel, you take that to heart.

I knew this was going to end on a cliffhanger, but I was hoping it wouldn’t destroy my soul! The second book on this duet cannot come soon enough. I think I need some of Cam’s pills to get me through this tremendous book slump I’m going to be in till the sequel is released

The darkness in this storyline is delicious. If your favourite breed of MMC is broken tatted 6ft 4 psychopath, then trust me, this book is for you.

My Heart, Your Knife is a rush from start to finish. The darkness that runs through its veins is nothing short of delicious and intoxicating.

The pacing is relentless in the best way. Every chapter pushes you forward, keeping you on tenterhooks as you wonder what lies just around the corner.

The MMC is dangerous and magnetic, but underneath that hardened exterior is a heart that will wreck you. He’s the sort of character who makes you ache even as he makes you nervous, the kind you can’t help but fall for no matter how many absolutely batsh*t crazy warning signs flash around him. And the spice.. oh the spice. Chapter 14 blew my socks off. If you know, you know 👀

If you’re looking for a story that’s fast, dark, and utterly captivating, this book delivers in spades.

Not my favourite dark romance book but it was definitely entertaining and Cameron was a very complex character. I initially disliked him but I appreciated getting to know more about his backstory and the reasons behind why he became so heartless and cruel.
I also liked Emery’s compassion and more tender nature but for an experienced, seasoned executioner as her, I didn’t like her need to constantly be saved by Cameron🥲
This book was action packed, a bit too bloody maybe for my taste but full of tension and a fun one overall!

That ending was definitely unexpected and I will be reading book 2 for sure!

I cannot say enough good things about this book. It hooks you for the first page. The trials amazing! The chemistry phenomenal. The ending broke my heart and I have to wait until December for book two.

This was my first ever NetGalley read, and wow - what a way to pop the cherry. I didn’t just fall into this world; I plunged headfirst into the Dark Forces with Em and Cam, and I’m not sure I’ll ever find my way out. And honestly? I don’t want to.

Two broken souls, colliding in the messiest, most beautiful way. Cam especially wrecked me. A man who sees himself as a monster, unworthy of love… how could I not fall for him? His vulnerability, his darkness, his tenderness - it broke me.

The spice? Oh, it was definitely spicing.
The plot? Absolutely plotting.
And me? Unwell, thank you for asking.

I need to breathe, maybe lie down, definitely scream into a pillow. That ending left my heart racing and my soul shattered.

Review – Your Knife, My Heart by K.M. Moronova

After reading Leave Me Behind, I knew K.M. Moronova was going straight to my auto-buy list — and Your Knife, My Heart only confirmed that decision.

This book dives even deeper into the dark, twisted world Moronova has created, giving us more insight into how the forces at play really work. And then there’s Cam… completely unhinged, dangerous, and magnetic — and somehow impossible not to love. Ember is his perfect match: the sweetest badass you can imagine, fierce and vulnerable all at once. Together, their chemistry is electric.

Wrath, Arnold, and Nolan, on the other hand… I hate them with every fiber of my being. If they met their end in the next book, I wouldn’t shed a single tear.

Dark, raw, and gripping from start to finish, this book had me hooked and left me desperate for more. I’ve already pre-ordered the next one, because this series is officially one I can’t live without.

I read this in one sitting, ignoring all adult responsibilities, my husband, my kids, my dog and all basic human needs. The only thing I’d change is the fact that I need, at minimum, 200 more pages of Cameron and Emery. It could just be him braiding her hair along with his inner monologue and I would’ve happily read until the sun came up. Such an interesting concept that brings the FMC and MMC together, and I appreciated the pacing of how that dynamic played out. The duality of Cam being this incredibly masculine and capable man, while also emotionally vulnerable and starved for affection is my weakness. I love a strong man that yearns. Not to mention the spice was SPICING. Side note: If you don’t like cliffhangers, wait until book two comes out to read. I’m dying to know how this ends!
