Your Knife, My Heart brings us back to K.M.Moronova's world of the Dark Forces. Before Leave Me Behind, we have Cameron "Mori", a Fury Squad cold-blooded killing machine. Due to his inability to keep his partner safe from himself, he is assigned Emery, new to the Dark Forces, as his new potential partner. Emery must work together with him to complete the Under Trials while Cameron must resist the urge to kill her himself.
UM WHAT. K.M.Moronova has a way of making me shout out loud while reading her books. Because what do you mean that ending!?
I will say, I am so excited to be back in the Dark Forces world she has built. She has been the first to introduce a dark military romance and I fear that I am in love with this dark world she has created. Would I live there? Absolutely not (haha). I loved seeing more of the Dark Forces world and how selections get made to enter into the Dark Forces.
The writing is always phenomenal! I love the way K.M.Moronova's words twist my heartstrings while also soothing them with emotional and deep moments with the characters. The way she describes the world transports me along with the characters.
The characters were so interesting. I have no idea how she made me fall in love with Cameron just by the first chapter, but I did. Cameron is so complicated and I enjoyed peeling layers of his story while reading this. Cameron is so interesting because I find myself thinking that I would make the same decisions that he does if I had been in this world and dealt the fate that he has faced. Emery is also very intriguing. At first, I was not sure about Emery, but I also had to consider the fact that she is new to this world. It was refreshing to see someone enter the world, humanity intact and all, and how she changes as she continues to discover the harsh reality she is in. There is more to her story, so I am interested to see where it will take us.
The plot was super captivating. I was hooked onto the storyline from chapter 1. We have multiple plotlines to follow, but the writing is easy to follow so it comes naturally, so it does not feel overwhelming.
I cannot wait to receive the final published book and read the next book because once again... THAT ENDING?!
Thank you so much Netgalley, K.M.Moronova, and Bloom Books for the opportunity to read this book as an ARC. I cannot wait till the next book!

First, I'd like us all to take a moment of silence for my sanity. -Breathe In, Breathe Out-
I went into this book having the time of my life. Was there banter? Fuck yeah. Were the two MCs so damaged that they fit together like that last puzzle piece you were looking for and found it with your cat? Yes. From the first chapter, I was giddy with excitement. Having just finished Leave Me Behind, I was ready for another adventure in the Dark Forces. Was I prepared for a darker and more deadly tale in the same world? No, but after that first chapter, I was hooked. I was almost pissed that I had to work this week because all I wanted to do was read this book.
Emery and Cameron are everything. Two broken people in a world of darkness, and they work so well together. Their constant banter and teasing like an old married couple was everything I needed. It almost made me forget that the whole point of the book was "Don't kill the new girl." If you thought Leave Me Behind was brutal, wait until you see the trials they all go through to get there. It makes me wonder just what the characters from that book had to go through if this book is anything to go by.
And...DON'T EVEN GET ME FUCKING STARTED ON THAT CLIFFHANGER! I gasped--GASPED--and just stared at my phone re-reading the last line as if it was going to change. Moronova strikes it out of the park again with "how to end a book in the best way to break your readers' hearts" because I swear she's about to foot my therapy bill. I'm going to need Book 2, like, yesterday.
If you think you're ready to head back into the Dark Forces Universe, prepare yourself mentally for November 11, 2025.

Oh…..my….Lordy….Lord!!! 🙏
In Australia there used to be a television ad that went “Ah McCains you’ve done it again”. Well, I’ve decided that that is now going to be the phrase I use every time Miss Moronova hits it out of the park with her books. Ah, Miss Moronova, You’ve done it again.
Cam and Em had me O.B.S.E.S.S.E.D 👏 The tension, the emotion, the longing, the touch her and die vibes… everything was absolutely on point.
I need to start prepping myself for confusion, heart break and little bit of frustration every time I pick up one of your unfinished series because damn girl, you really had me thinking that it wouldn’t end on a cliffhanger 🤦♀️
Another 5 ⭐️ read for me and I am frothing at the bit to read the next one! ❤️

Within the first two pages of the prologue I was in love with the MMC. His swagger and lovable arrogance laced with humor is irresistible. By chapter three I was fist pumping and hard shipping the MMC & FMC. I didn’t know how badly I needed this book in my life! This is my new favorite couple! For all the Dramione fanfic readers… very much reminded me of a dark Dramione.

I was completely consumed by this book. It’s dark, violent, and ruthless, but at the heart of all that chaos is a story about two broken people who should destroy each other, yet somehow fit together in the most jagged way.
Cam is pure chaos. He’s lethal, volatile, and terrifyingly unpredictable, but that’s exactly what makes him so magnetic. Everyone else sees a monster, but what had me completely undone were the rare glimpses of the boy underneath all that violence. He doesn’t believe he’s capable of love, doesn’t believe he’s anything but broken, and maybe that’s true, but it only made me love him harder. He’s the kind of character you want to run from while simultaneously wanting to stay and stitch him back together.
And then there’s Emery. Pink-haired, razor-sharp, and raised to be a weapon by a family who shaped her into an executioner. She’s clever, cunning, and absolutely ruthless when she has to be. What makes her so captivating is that she refuses to bend to Cam. She matches his darkness with her own, and sometimes even scares him with the fire she brings. Their connection is jagged and messy, full of sharp edges and bruises, but it’s also magnetic. Watching the two of them clash, push each other’s limits, and finally give in to that pull was explosive.
The world around them is brutal. The Under Trials are merciless, the drug trials even worse, and every moment feels like survival is balanced on a knife’s edge. But it’s through that violence and destruction that Cam and Emery’s bond is forged. Two monsters, perfectly matched, teetering between devotion and destruction.
And then came the ending!! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? It tore me apart in typical KM fashion and left me absolutely DESPERATE for the next book.
*** Thank you to NetGalley and Blooms books publishers for the ARC. l am super grateful to have had the opportunity to read this early.

absolutely ate this one UP. An amazing book to follow up the world that Leave Me Behind laid the foundation for. I am in love with Cameron and how broken he is, and Emery is such a complicated fmc. The pacing of this book was fantastic, the drama and trials were so intriguing, and the cliffhanger??? I need more asap. I cannot wait to see what happens in book 2!!!

K.M. books are unlike anything I’ve ever read. They often feature very dark themes, broken MCs, beautiful writing, and the ability to make your heart ACHE.
Your Knife, My Heart is no different. Set within the Dark Forces universe, this book is addictive and the definition of dark.
Cameron is part of an underground military operation known as the Dark Forces. He’s hot and broody and … he may also be labeled as clinically insane. Also, he can’t stop killing his partners thanks to an experimental drug that makes him lose control on the field. As punishment, he’s made to undergo a deadly bootcamp again — this time with a new partner and with a singular task: don’t kill her.
After narrowly escaping one death sentence, Emery finds herself in the Dark Forces and paired with a less-than-ideal partner. But after some trials and time spent in Cameron’s presence, she finds that there’s more to the monster than bloodlust and madness.
The “is he going to protect her or k!ll her” vibe kept me on the edge of my seat the entire book. I was so curious (and nervous) to see how this was going to end. And then I got to the plot twist reveals and the last line??? The gasp that I GUSPED. I have theories but I need ANSWERS.
Idk what K.M. puts in her books, but she never misses.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tropes: dark romance, dark military-inspired, touch her and unalive, spicy
🌶️🌶️🌶️
Thank you to the author and publisher for the arc!
So I’ve never read a book by this author before but I’m OBSESSED. I was in a reading slump and I felt like I wanted to read something a little different and this book sounded SO GOOD. MMC is crazy? Dark romance? Try not to unalive her? I immediately started reading.
I loved this book. I loved the characters and I’m excited to see what else happens. The world building is intriguing. I’m desperate for the next book!
Please make sure to check TW before reading!!

I was addicted to this book from the first sentence. It was hard to put down. Cameron makes you want to fix but scared at the same time he will kill you. Emery is a smart and strong female character. The fact that both characters are unstable makes the story so interesting. I am ready for book 2.

Grabbed an advance ebook from Netgalley, thank you!!
I've read and loved all the other books from K. M. Moronova and this one is right up there with them. I love the interactions between the MMC and FMC and diving deeper into the dark forces. Not quite an enemies to lovers but more of a "this isn't going to work" feel to it. Only negative is that now I have to wait on the next one!

Loved it! Already sad I read this early because it means an extra long wait for the second book! I enjoyed this story a lot and it made me more interested in the Dark Forces.

5⭐️ 3🌶️
I sometimes forget I’m reading a book. I was completely captivated by Cameron and Emery’s relationship. Cameron is a dark forces agent with a lot of baggage and Emery has a mysterious past with a dark history. Each trial keeps you on your toes and you never know what’s next. The way this relationship builds is nerve racking. This book ended on a cliffhanger and I NEED more. K.M you have such a way of creating literature worlds that are both memorable and vivid like an alternate reality. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book prior to release. I truly appreciate your genius!

Em and Cam, such a great pairing! This is my first book by K.M. Moronova, but definitely won’t be my last! Em and Cam are the perfect enemies to lovers pairing and the story was fast paced and entertaining. The end seemed to wrap up quickly, but then the end leaves me wanting more immediately! Looking forward to book two!

ARC Review
“It’s gonna be my knife to your heart. You’ll see me coming.” If K.M.M does anything, it’s writing a 5 star book. I love a crazy MMC but the only thing that makes him less crazy is the FMC. The world building, going back into the Dark Forces but from the beginning is chefs kiss. We got to see more of the DF world before joining a squad. The trials, so good and descriptive. Of course the tension between the two main characters had me on my toes. The ending? Criminal. I’m unwell. I know K.M.M always leaves books on a cliff hanger but I’m going to need the second part to this duet ASAP. Please go read this book.

4/5 stars
this book had the most JAW DROPPING ending that i’ve seen in a long time! the plot was perfectly planned, the second book is clearly already thought out and i cannot wait to see what more k.m moronova has to offer.
while i could give books that compare and have similar tropes, it feels one of a kind. each character has a purpose, each scene is building to a new development, and it over all is aiming towards a whole new expansive universe. while the first book is strategically keeping readers in the shadows, its attention to detail doesn’t leave readers in the dark, you get a glimpse, while also knowing that there is so much we don’t know; this is hard to do in a dual pov like this.
emery’s pov is where we get all of our information from and she is the eyes of the reader, while cameron’s pov is where we see character development and a focus on things emery seems to be ‘missing’ or not seeing.
extremely well written, and well done! i cannot WAIT to get my hands on book two!
to bloom books, thank you for this arc copy in exchange for an entirely honest review!

100% read in a day kinda book. None stop action from the very beginning all the way through to the end, eeek damn the cliffhanger, though, I want more, and I wanted it yesterday!
This book follows Cameron, a stab happy English chappy that can't control his deadly urges to kill his partners, or well, anyone for that matter. His punishment lands him back in basic training with one objective 'DONT KILL YOUR NEW PARTNER!'
In comes Emery, daughter to one of the richest families in society who was trained from her youth to serve the family business. Her skills don't include table etiquette and waltzing, although I'm sure she would be quite creative if cutlery was all she had nearby on the job. She is taken from prison and forced underground to train for the dark forces alongside Cameron. Being on the dark task force is bad enough, but things are far more sinister than either of them could have prepared for.
military setting, performance enhancing drug trials, childhood trauma, violence, sessy times, and learning to discover what love means to a person that has never known it. Please read content warnings, your mental health matters 🫶🏼
*** Thank you to netgalley and Blooms books publishers for the ARC, I had already put this book on my tbr calendar so I am very grateful to have the chance to read this early. The above review is my honest opinion and has not been influenced in any way.

I could NOT put this book down. I read it in one sitting it was SO GOOD. I am so happy to be reading about the dark forces again. Cameron was absolutely unhinged but I was obsessed with him. Emery was such a great character I love how after everything she still had a good heart. This story was so good and after that cliff hanger at the end I cannot wait for the second book. I need to know what happens I’m on the edge of my seat. I also liked that jenkins was mentioned in this one too!

I pre-ordered Your Knife, My Heart as soon as K.M. announced it, and now that I’ve read it, I’m happy I did.
K.M. has done it again, had me in a chokehold right from the start! I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting. What can I say? I have a weakness for dark military romance, especially since reading "Leave Me Behind." Cameron and Emery stole my heart with their banter, tension, curiosity, and tender moments. Chef’s kiss! Cam (Fury squad soldier) is a dark, unhinged, and broken character, which initially made me feel a bit fearful, but also strangely drawn to him. I understand why Em, his new partner, is drawn to him. It’s evident that Emery is afraid of Cam, yet she has no qualms about testing his patience. She’s wicked and unfairly damaged (as she says), and because of that, she’s tormented by the desire to help others while also trying to survive. I loved the flow of the story, not so heavy on the spice, just the perfect balance on spice, violence, and action. I had anticipated a cliffhanger, but what transpired was not what I expected. It had me in tears! Loved it so much that I’m eager to read the second book and see how the story unfolds.

"𝙈𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣’𝙩 𝙙𝙧𝙖𝙬𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨. 𝙄 𝙘𝙖𝙣’𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙛𝙖𝙬𝙣 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙩."
If I could give this book 6 stars, I would. 😩 This book was equal parts beautiful and tragic and read like poetry created from pain and devotion.
Your Knife, My Heart is everything I crave in a dark romance seductive, brutal, and written with that movie like quality that K.M. Moronova delivers. Her words have a way of sinking under your skin, making every moment feel visceral and alive.
What makes this story so unforgettable isn’t just the blood, the danger, or the intensity it’s the contrast. The way moments of softness cut through the chaos like fragile beams of light. A stolen glance, a quiet confession, or something as simple (and devastatingly intimate) as Cameron braiding Emery’s hair. Those fleeting acts of tenderness against such dark, jagged edges made me ache in the best way possible.
I was hooked from the very first page and couldn’t put it down. The push and pull, the raw emotion, the intoxicating tension it’s everything I love about Moronova’s writing. Few authors capture both the violence and the vulnerability of love the way she does.
Dark, devastating, and unforgettable this is easily one of my new favorites from her, and I already know it will haunt me until the next book especially with that ending.
* I recieved this arc from Netgalley and Bloom books. All thoughts are my own.*

This book is absolutely incredible. It’s the first 5 star read I have had in months and this book has managed to get me out of the biggest slump ever. It’s literally like a Call of Duty dark romance but the MMC is on a performance enhancing drug that makes him accidentally kill his partners. Enter the absolutely serial killer badass FMC forced to partner up with him who not only holds her own against him but also see’s him as more than the insane super soldier he was created to be. The tension between the characters, the not knowing whether he was going to sleep with her, try to kill her, or both kept me on the edge of my seat. Their witty banter and intellect was amazingon the page. The angst, the spice, the heartbreaking truth behind the drugs Cam takes, I Literally ate this up SO FAST.I am relatively new to this authors work but everything I
have read has been immaculate. This story is something I will absolutely be thinking of for a long time and I am DESPERATE To read the sequel
